Reunite After 72 Years With the Help of Facebook

Have you ever searched for someone from your past on facebook ? Perhaps you've taken to a social networking site to locate a long last relative.?

There are billion users on the social networking site, with billions of connections,and numerous Facebook pages are dedicated to family searches.

The most recent reunion story is of two Bosnian sisters,both in their eightes,who have been reunited after 72 years apart with help of Facebook.

Tanija Delic,88, and Hedija Talic, 82 had not seen each other since 1941,the Nezavisne Novine .Talic,aged 11 at the time had got separated from her family while they were feeing their village in northwestern Bosnia at the start of World War 2.She ended up in an Orphange , while the parents were killed during the war and her brother emigrated to the U.S.

"After the war , people were telling me all kinds of things,"Talic told."Some were saying that my family was killed,others that they moved to the U.S. I lost any hope that i would see any of them again."

Talic later moved with her family to a village near the northeastern town of Tuzla,while her sister Delic lived in a village in northwestern Bosnia.

They learned of each other and eventually met again after Talic's son got Inerested in his family tree and contacted his aunt's daughter through Facebook. The sisters related " Tears and Disbelief " over the emotional reunion, saying they shared memories of the "smallest events from childhood."

The sisters said they would now try to trace their brother or his family ,who are believed to be in the United States..

Google, the Huge internet Source has given a good news to Indian Citizens.Google is telling Asian users to except Google Service to be extended in this Year.

Google Websites-- Gmail,,Google+,YouTube,Google Hangout,Google Search and more are to get 30 percent faster in India. Google is going to start operations on its data center based in Asia.Google started working on these data centers which are located at Singapore,Taiwan and Hong Kong in 2011.
Work on these centers began in 2011 and the singapore facility is excepted to be complete in early 2013. Following that the Taiwan facility is scheduled to be up and running by the second half of 2013.Google has not yet given a clear timeframe for completing the Hong Kong facility,but it will be finished last.

In the memory of the brave heart , Google has placed a subtle vigil candle below it's search box on the Google India homepage. When you take Your Cursor on the Candle, the text appears that read, "In Memory Of the Delhi brave heart."

Very often Google Places doodles on account of historical milestones and anniversaries but this time by placing a glowing candle below the search box .Google has not only honoured the brave heart and it's family ,but it has also paid a tribute to the entire nation by this action and protesting for Justice.

Apple may launch iPad 5 in March 2013

Apple, which recently launched the fourth iteration of its popular iPad tablet, is now rumoured to come up with the fifth version of the iPad in March 2013, says a report from Macotakara, a Japanese website.

The report claims that the next-gen iPad, unofficially dubbed "iPad 5," will be lighter and smaller than the current model, which is heavier and thicker than the iPad 2 because of the circuitry that is used to power the device's Retina display. The new tablet will take the design refrences from the iPad mini, states the report.

If Apple unveils the next-gen iPad in March, it will be around five months after the brand unveiled the fourth generation version. The announcement of the fifth version of the iPad may come out to be true as we have seen Apple launching the fourth version six months after the new iPad (iPad 3) launch.

The report also noted that Apple is working on the next-gen iPad Mini, which is speculated to have a 7.9-inch Retina Display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, and come powered by an A6X processor that powers the Apple iPad 4. The next-gen iPad Mini is likely to enter the trial at the end of this month.

Slashgear last month had reported that Apple has chosen AU Optronics, one of Apple's suppliers of 1024x768 panels for the iPad mini, to build a Retina Display for the next-gen iPad mini, which is said to have a pixel density of 324 ppi.

According to an inside source of the tech blog Macotakara, the new iPad will look like the iPad Mini in design and the dimensions of a slightly smaller iPad 2, the Daily Mail reported.

There are currently three models of iPad: The first iPad, the iPad 2 and the iPad Retina display - all measuring the same.

Apple released a faster version of the iPad Retina (also known to many as the iPad 3) this March and some people refer to this as the iPad 4.

Following hot on the heels of the iPad 4 launch was the introduction of the Mini measuring a sleek 7.87 inch in height, 5.3 inch in width and 0.28 inch in depth.

NASA Captures Solstice Solar Portrait

At 11:12 UT (6:12 a.m. EST), the world didn't end (as far as I can tell), but it was a significant time none-the-less. That was the exact minute of the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere (or the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere) -- when the daylight hours are shortest and the sun reaches its most southern position in the sky at noon. This is all due to the Earth's tilt relative to the sun.

The ever-watchful NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) captured the time of solstice from orbit. Although the SDO is always imaging the sun through a multitude of filters, this is a great excuse to showcase the fantastic beauty of our nearest star, while putting all the doomsday nonsense behind us.

The sun didn't unleash a killer solar flare or devastating coronal mass ejection, but it is undergoing a fascinating period in its solar cycle.

As can be seen from the SDO image above, the solar magnetic field is twisted and warped, channeling million-degree plasma high into the sun's atmosphere in the form of beautiful coronal loops. This is all because the sun is fast approaching "solar maximum" -- an exciting time when the sun's magnetic field is most stressed.

We can expect a lot more flares and CMEs from now and through 2013; although these events can damage satellites and threaten power supplies, they're not the flares described in doomsday myth. Info From Mashable

Facebook Set to Change Your Timeline Again

Facebook confirmed today that it’s trying some new things. “This is a new design Facebook is testing with a small percentage of people to make navigating timeline even easier,” a Facebook spokesperson told ABC News.

So what might be coming? Here’s what we saw:

There's a new "About" tab at the top of the page; click on that and you get all the information you've given the social network about yourself plus your full list of friends. Keep scrolling and you get to Photos, although the Photos tab will take you there faster.

And as Facebook previously announced, the word "subscribers" is being replaced with the Twitter-like term "followers." Your followers number will no longer be shortened once it gets into the tens of thousands.

Here's what a Facebook spokesperson had to say about the changes: "This is a new design Facebook is testing with a small percentage of people to make navigating Timeline even easier."

In November, Facebook began experimenting with another Timeline change: putting all your posts into a single column. That change still hasn't rolled out for the majority of users.

While the app is free on Android and comes with a yearly subscription plan, the iOS version needs a one-time payment for the app. According to a tweet on the WhatsApp Twitter account, the iOS version of the app is now free for a limited period in celebration of the holiday season.

"Happy Holidays! WhatsApp for iPhone is free for a limited time. Tell your friends!" tweeted the WhatsApp account. It is assumed that the app is free till 25^thDecember.

Google doodles 200th anniversary of Grimm's Fairy Tales

Google has featured a multi-part doodle on its homepage as a tribute on the 200th anniversary of Grimm's Fairy Tales.

Grimm's Fairy Tales is the popular name of a 19th century German book called Children's and Household Tales (Kinder und Hausmärchen in German). The book was written by German brothers Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm and Wilhelm Carl Grimm.

In Grimm's Fairy Tales, the Grimm brothers collected many of Europe's most popular fairy tales including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Hansel and Gretel, The Frog-Price, Goldilocks And The Three Bears, Rapunzel, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Rumpelstiltskin and many, many others.

The first volume of the first edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales was published in 1812 containing 86 stories; the second volume of 70 stories followed in 1814. The seventh and final edition under the brothers' watch was published in 1857 and it contained 211 stories split across two volumes.

These editions were extensively illustrated by Philipp Grot Johann, whose work on Grimm's Fairy Tales is considered as amongst the finest of his career. Some of these illustrations are mildly humorous, such as the one in The Devil With the Three Golden Hairs where the devil is pictured reading a newspaper which, on closer examination, is a stock market letter. Robert Leinweber took over illustration duties for the latter editions after Johann's death in 1892.

AFCAT – Air Force Common Admission Test

The Indian Air Force Academy (IAF) conducts the AFCAT - Air Force Common Admission Test in order to Join Indian Air Force as

         Flying branch
   Technical branch and
   Ground Duty branch..

AFCAT is conducted twice an year; in the month of March and and in the month of August.

AFCAT 2013 Dates / Notification:-

Candidates are to apply online on www.careerairforce.nic.in from 10 December 2012 to 08 January 2013.

Last Date for submission of Online applications:- 08 January 2013

Date of AFCAT 2013: 24-02-2013 (Sunday)

AFCAT 2013 Pattern:-

The AFCAT Exam 2013 Question Paper will have total 100 Questions. The total time allotted the AFCAT Exam is 2 Hours.

There is negative marking. Each question carry 3 Marks. For a wrong answer, 1 Mark is deducted.

AFCAT 2013 Syllabus:-

General Awareness:- History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc

Verbal Ability in English:- Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

Numerical Ability:- Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

Air Force Common Admission Test Eligibility:-

For Flying Branch:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks from a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology of 4 years with 60% Marks. Candidates must be passed 12th Examination with Maths and Physics

Age Limit: Between 19 and 23 years as on 01/01/2014. Those candidates holding valid Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA will be relaxed in age upto 25 years

Physical Standard: (Male & Female) – Height – 162.5, with correlated weight Vision – 6/6 and 6/9

For Technical Branch:-

Qualifications: Degree Qualifications of 4 years from a recognized University for AE (L) and AE (M). Final year of 4 years Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor Technology from a recognized University for AE (L) and (M) UES-2013 Entry

Physical Standard: Height (Men) – 157.5 cms, (Women) – 152 cms with correlated weight

Age: 18 to 28 years as on 01/01/2014

For Ground Duty Branches:-

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks or PG Degree or equivalent diploma in any subject area with 50% Marks

Age: Between 20 to 23, 20 to 25, 20 to 26 and 20 to 27 years as on 01/01/2014 as per Qualifications

Physical Standard: Height (Men) – 157.5 cms, (Women) – 152 cms with correlated weight

Selection Procedure:-

Eligible candidates who apply with proper details will be called for AFCAT which will be conducted on 24/02/2013. Candidates who qualify in this test will be called for further test which will be done in three stages,

Stage-I: Intelligence Test,

Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview,

Stage-III Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).

Mathematician and daughter of Lord Byron left legacy as role model for young women entering technology careers

Google's latest doodle celebrates the 197th birthday of Ada Lovelace, the 19th century mathematician and daughter of romantic poet Lord Byron.

Often described as world's first computer programmer, Lovelace showed a keen interst in mathematical studies from an early age and was taught by her mother, Annabella, who was also a gifted mathematician.

-->> In correspondence with Charles Babbage, who was working on the ideas for a machine that is now recognised as a forerunner of the modern computer, Ada demonstrated her gift for mathematics and was described by him as 'the enchantress of numbers'.

In honor of Ada Lovelace Google celebrated her legacy on December 10, 2012 with a Google Doodle devoted to Ada Lovelace. In the Google Doodle there is a mathematical formula written in a bubble just above the “G” in Google. There is also a drawing of a woman in the image, which looks a lot like Ada Lovelace. In the doodle there are also symbols of what was considered the first computers to modern day computers like a laptop and Ipad or Tab.

With all the images and the words “Google” written in what looks like a lace type font, I personally think that Google have done a great job today, telling the world about Ada Lovelace and the legacy she left behind..!!
