However, there is one plus point about this time of year and that's that the sloes are ready to be picked and turned into the most gorgeous drink possible, yummy Sloe Gin. I'd never tried it before I met my husband and got introduced to it on one of his driven shoot days, I can understand why they say it keeps you warm!!

So I thought I'd share my recipe with you in case you're like me and wanted to make your own Sloe Gin for the first time:

Ingredients:

450g of sloes, 225g of caster sugar and 1 x Litre of Gin

How To Make It:

Prick the sloes with a sterilised needle or clean knife and pop them in a sterilised sweet jar. (I've used a large tupperware container as I couldn't get a jar!)

Add the caster sugar and seal tightly.

Shake the bottle or container every other day for the first week whilst the sugar dissolves.

Shake daily for the next two months.

Drink and Enjoy!

(Keep in a dark and cool pace if possible)

So I'm sure you can guess what we'll be serving at our December dinner parties with some wonderful game and home grown produce...... or you might be getting a bottle as a little Christmas gift!

A good friend of mine, Linda Stevenson is currently in the process of interviewing a number of people for a series of articles she is writing and is looking for inspirational people to interview. There are lots of amazing people out there, doing amazing things so I thought I'd ask you on her behalf. Older People's Day is fast approaching on 1st October and it would be wonderful if you can support her.........

Linda has posted this on her new blog today and if you can help in any way at all, please do contact her!

Thank you in advance! x

"I am looking for inspirational older people to feature in this blog. Do you know anyone over 60 who has done something that has flown in the face of conventional perceptions of what you should do in your golden years?! Do you know someone who has done something inspirational, courageous, or amazing whose story would inspire and uplift those in the same age group and open the eyes of those who may dread getting older.

If you think they would like to share their story please contact me at lindamstevenson1960@yahoo.co.uk.

How often have you caught yourself saying those phrases, "If only there were more hours in a day" or "I just fell into being a ..... but what I'd really love to do is...!". Well, I met with a lovely lady today called Charlotte Hill who is helping her clients do just that with her consultancy, Work, Life, Design.

Charlotte is a real life example that you can make the transition into having a job and life you love and is seeing real successes take place with her clients who are following her example and doing just that.

I know from personal experience that it's essential to feel fabulous in everything you do and that's the same whether it's in your personal or professional life. I'm very lucky to have a hubby and home that I adore and a professional life I love with the two businesses that help people in very different ways. I'm also blessed with great friends and family so very grateful for all that I have.

So I urge you to have a real think and be honest with yourself - are you really doing what you love? If not, the change doesn't have to happen overnight and sometimes can't but there are professionals out there to help you and Charlotte is one of them!! So why not give her a call or email her and make the first step you having a life you love!

Twitter has become a fundamental tool these days for all online marketeers and also for keeping up to date with what's going on in people's lives.

However, if you're using Twitter to drive traffic to your various sites then of course there are only 24 hours in any day and any way to work smarter than harder has to be welcomed with open arms. Tweetlater has changed its name to SocialOomph and by using this service you can schedule your tweets to appear automatically when you schedule them to appear, so even if you're away on holiday, in a meeting all day or just simply busy, busy, busy, your tweets can be appearing whilst you're doing other things.

Have a look and see what you think - you could make your life a lot easier!

It's been a really busy weekend, in fact it's been an incredibly busy week (and month) and today, I've spent the day with two friends showing them how to blog, twitter etc in order to grow their online businesses. So we've set ourselves a little competition to instill the fact that blogging needs to be regular and consistent - so you'll be getting a blog post every day for the next seven days, and then you should get them every day for ever more!!!

Michelle's just started as an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and has seized the opportunity to work with me to get off to a flying start and has set herself up with a wonderful domain name, blog and Twitter account within her first week. We sometimes tend to forget about enjoying the life we lead because we're too busy focusing on doing it! So why not grab yourself a latte or cappucino (with chocolate of course!) and think about which of these could enhance your own life........

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone..

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

I've seen it on your email signature!I

Social networking has never been a great love of mine for my own personal interactions, I'll confess that openly! However, the viral power of all the social networking sites shouldn't and cannot be dismissed by anyone who's serious about promoting themselves and therefore getting a Twitter account should be on your online marketing list if you're going to use it for marketing purposes and not just a time distraction.

By posting a 'tweet' your message can go viral and by getting your followers to 're-tweet' the snowball effect can be huge. You get 140 characters to get your message across in short, sharp bursts and direct followers to your online marketing activity elsewhere.

So what are you waiting for, sign up for an account today and begin 'tweeting'. If you want to have a look at my Twitter profile then go to www.twitter.com/debbiebissett and have a look at my lovely pink page. I'd be honoured if you choose to follow me and I'll do my best to pass on as much info as possible!

Tweet! Tweet!
