Golden Sunset...

Inspired by this rare period of sunshine we've been having I decided to paint my nails a sunny golden orange...

I found it really hard to photograph this look so hopefully you get it from the following pics.

This was created by using Nails Inc Atomic all over the nails and Sephora's I'm a rich girl on the tips. I used scotch tape to enable to to get a nice neat line. I'm really happy with the overall look - very bright and summery!!

Shoes. A girl can never have too many...

I was in need of some new black court heels and whilst trawling around the Next website I came across these little beauties.

Very nice huh? They're beautiful black platforms and if you look closely you can see that they are snake print.

My favourite thing about these shoes?

When I ordered them, they were a reasonable £30. BUT when they arrived, my bill stated £15...the guys at Next were SO nice as to charge me sale price even though I ordered 3 days before the sale started. Thanksssss......

I really like the two Nails Inc ones which I, as I'm sure most of you did, got free with Fabulous Magazine's offer. OMP (Oh my pink) is my favourite of the two.

The Essie polish is a gorgeous pinky lilac. It applies like a dream and wore pretty well. It has a gel like finish unlike the others which are quite creamy.

The OPI polish is the newest to my collection, bought in another spur of the moment Ebay but. It's pretty-ish but definitely not my favourite. I think of it as more of a colour my gran would wear, as it's a bit BLAH.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

I think I may be the last person in the world to try out this concealer.

OK, that's perhaps a teeny tiny exaggeration, but it seems this product is everywhere on the blogosphere and almost everyone had good things to say about it. So I decided to try out for myself.

I'm pretty lucky in that I never really get too spotty on my face. If I break out it's usually on my chin and they're generally not horrific. So I'm not in need of cement like concealer which applies an inch thick. I like concealers with a nice, smooth consistency and that blend in well with my skin tone. The shade I use in this product is 2. Fair.

I am really impressed with this concealer. It applies really well. I use the applicator to apply it to the areas I want to conceal then use my finger to dab it in. It covers really well and doesn't look cakey. As for the 16hr wear, I'm not so sure, but it definitely wears well. I use my powder to set it and it does me for the day. And it's so cheap, it's such a bargain.

What do you guys think of this? And what are your favourite concealers?

So I've seen recently that Superdrug have brought out their own brand of false lashes and I'm pretty keen to try them out. To be honest, I'm surprised this hasn't happened a lot sooner, but I'm definitely going to pick some up as soon as I can make my way to Superdrug. These are retailing at £3.99 which is a great price, I just hope the products are equally as great. I've had a little nosy online and here are a few of my top picks...

Hair Haul

Big and Beautiful.

That's how I like my hair. Sadly, my hair is somewhat lacking in the volume department so last week I picked up some goodies in the hope that I could put some life back in my locks.

I had saved up quite a few points on my Boots Advantage card so decided to use them to buy my goodies.

The first three items are from Trevor Sorbie. (These are currently 3 for 2)

Beautiful Volume Hairspray

This claims to be a day long hairspray which is designed to hold your 'do in place without weighing it down. I've not yet managed to put it to any serious styling tests yet, but so far it seem like a decent hair spray and it doesn't have that usual choke-me hairspray scent.

Beautiful Volume Thickening Shampoo

This shampoo smells lovely and fresh and lathers really well. After blow drying I can definitely feel a difference in body in my hair and it feels really nice and soft. I'd definitely recommend this and I will repurchase as I think it has become a new favourite.

Beautiful Volume Volume Booster

This styling spray should be used on towel dried hair to help boost volume after drying. I do like how this adds volume to my hair but I feel like you need to be careful not to use too much as it does leave a bit of stickiness in your hair if overused. It also has added heat protection which is a bonus.

All 3 products cost £5.10 each.

The final product I got was one that I'd heard a lot about and that I was keen to try.

Schwarzkopf Got2be Powder'ful Volumizing Styling Powder.

As stated in the name it's a styling powder which focuses on adding instant lift and body to the roots. You sprinkle some powder onto your fingers and work it into your roots. The powder disappears and you're left with good lift and texture which gives the hair a voluminous appearance. It's a great instant boost however the powder does leave a residue in your hair so it doesn't leave you free to run your fingers through your hair. I think this is a great product to use when backcombing and creating a style which needs lots of height.

I want a new room!!

I've recently been giving my mind a treat about how I'd like to decorate my room. As much as I'd love to, me and the boy are planning on moving out in the next year so there really is no point, so I suppose this is how my new room could look...

I saw this pretty dressing table on the Ikea website and thought it was a beauty. I love the simplicity of it.

I've always wanted a white iron bed, and this one, also from Ikea fits the bill perfectly...no blue bed linen though!!

I think I'd leave the walls blank apart from one feature wall, with something dramatic like this wallpaper from http://www.decorsupplies.co.uk/

I would love to add some pink, twinkly fairy lights like these I found on http://www.amazon.co.uk/

...And of course lots of shoes, clothes, bags and make up, just to make it lived in...you know?

Oooh La La...Sephora Paris Palette

I got this little beauty as part of a giveaway prize from the lovely Louise at Get Lippy...thank you!!

As soon as I saw it I was instantly excited. As you know I only just had my first ever trip to Sephora and to get some more goodies was great. Also, who doesn't love Paris <3

The packaging is really sweet, it's shaped and styled like a Sephora carrier bag with some Parisian landmarks printed on the front, and the signature Sephora stripes on the side.

The two red straps at the top can be pulled to open up the palette.

Inside there are 8 shimmery eyeshadows and one matte. The colours are really wearable and pigmented. My favourites are light shimmery champagne/brown in the top left hand corner and the matte brown in the bottom left hand corner.

There are also two sections that pop out of each side of the palette, one containing 4 pretty lip colours and the other has a shimmery pink blush. Again, the colours are really wearable and the blush is gorgeous.

Since I've had this I've used it almost every day. I think it's a great palette for everyday use. It's really compacts so a great size to pack in your handbag and the mirror inside is really useful for on the go touch ups.

Witch Gentle Exfoliating Face Wash

Until recently, I had been new to any Witch skincare products, with exception of the Witch anti blemish stick which I'd used as a spotty teen. I just always related the products to acne prone skin, which I do not have, so never really bothered with it, although I have tried a few make up products....That is until now.

I picked up this face wash a few weeks ago and I am pretty impressed.

As it is exfoliating, it contains small micro-granules to make sure it cleans deep into pores and scrubs away and dead skin cells. It does not feel over abrasive or rough on the skin at all. It also contains Witch Hazel to thoroughly cleanse and Vitamin E to make sure skin remains soft and moisturised.

I use this product with my Botanics Face Brush (reviewed here) and I am super happy with it's results. My skin feels clean, soft and smooth, and not tight at all. I would definitely be happy to repurchase this and am keen to try out some other Witch products.

Bling Bling

Continuing with the creative nail art that I've been 'attempting' in the lat week or so, I thought I'd show you these babies...

(pardon the messy application)

I went to the nail salon with my friend Emma the other day and she had her nails done, very nicely may I add, a nice pink colour with some sparkly bling on 2 of her fingers. These were Calgel, and although, as I said they looked very pretty, I couldn't help but think they'd be easily achievable at home, saving myself a much needed £30!

So I used my new Sephora nail polish in 'Jealous' and then added the little diamantes that I picked up from Superdrug for only £2.69....et Voila...pocket friendly and pretty.

Not Just For Babies

Could it be that a 'Wonder Product' has been staring us in the face for so long that we haven't even noticed?

Ladies, I'm talking about Johnson's Baby Lotion.

'What!?!?' I hear you cry...

When I run out of a product I tend to turn to this, and it really is a jack of all trades.

I have used this product to moisturise my face. If I don't have my usual moisturiser to hand this works great. It smells really nice and we know it's gentle (that's where the baby bit comes in). Okay, it leaves me slightly shiny, but if used at bed time this is no problem at all. Your bed doesn't judge.
Not only my face, I've used this as a body lotion, hand cream and foot cream. It's great to soak into your toes, put some socks on and let the magic happen. It leaves your feet soft and smelling lovely.

Also, I have used this product as a make up remover. A little squirt on the back of some cotton wool or a cloth, and this removes every last trace. Even mascara, I kid you not. It does a kinda 2 in 1 job, cleans and moisturises as the same time. Who can ask for more than that.

It's something that we all have lying around the house somewhere. I wonder if any of you use this products for it's universal uses??

MAC's Lustering

Sometimes red lipstick can scare me, but not this baby. She makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

It's actually quite a pinky red and as it's a lustre finish it gives a lovely sheen to the lips. It's also really moisturising.

It's a perfect day to night colour, as you can see and is now one of my firm favourites.

Life's Just Rosey

After watching MakeUpGeekTV's YT video on 'How to get rosebud nails' I was super inspired to try my hand at it. I've mentioned before I am not great at nail art but it didn't look too difficult. The only problem is that I don't have any coloured nail art pens, so I had to use some old make up brushes to create the design...

Anyways, here's my effort...

I ♥ Sephora

So as I mentioned in my last post, on my recent trip to Krakow I got to lose my Sephora virginity! It was a special moment that I shall look back on fondly....

Enough of that, lets get to the good stuff! What did I get??

All my purchases were Sephora's own brand, since I haven't had the opportunity to try it before and because it was 3 for 2! HA.

Here's my treasure...

First thing I got was this eyeshadow palette in No.13 Pin up show. There were loads of different colours to choose from, but I went for this since I don't really have any pinks, and I really love the sparkly pink/burgundy colour.

The colours are really versatile and look lovely either on their own or blended in to create a sexy smoky eye. This cost me 75 PLN which equates to roughly £18.

Next, I got this lipstick in the colour 02 Glamour. It's a really gorgeous light pink, and it has a really nice glossy sheen. It's swatched here on the left. It cost 39 PLN or roughly £10, and this was my first freebie :)

The colour on the right is the 3rd item I got, is this lip gloss in the shade The Red Shiny.

What I love most about this is it can be worn as a sheer light red gloss or it can be built up to a very opaque true red which is not at all sticky. This cost me 45 PLN, which is roughly around £11.

The next day I returned to Sephora again (much to the delight of the boy...not!) and picked up 3 nail polishes. They cost 19 PLN each, around £4.50 and I got one of them for free. Score.

Dzien Dobry (That's hello FYI)

Sorry no post for almost a week, I've not long returned from a little break in Krakow, Poland. It was my first time visiting Poland, and it was actually my gift to my boyfriend for his 30th Birthday. I was unsure what to expect as I hadn't heard much about the place, and there is a belief that it is always cold there - which it isn't.

We arrived on Sunday to 25 degree heat at 11am. Beautiful. After freshening up we got the tram from our hotel to the city centre. The first amazing sight we saw in Krakow is Wavel Castle.

We also did a guided tour of Auschwitz which was one of the saddest days, but the day I learnt the most. IT really does sicken me to think about what happened, and seeing it all on that day was very overwhelming, but if you visit this part of the world, it's definitely something you should experience.

On the last day we did a city tour, which was really interesting. It was a long day however, 6 and a half hours walking so I was knackered at the end, but worth it. We went round some beautiful and very significant buildings, churches and synagogues.

Every hour there is a man who stands at the top of this church tower and plays the bugle out to the people on the street below and it is very lovely.

Veet Suprem Essence

I've always been a boring shaver. Have dabbled with waxes and creams in the past, but always returned to my trusty Gillette Venus razor. I think it's the quickest, and most painless hair removal method, the only downside I can think of is the trauma it causes my skin. I don't suffer too badly with ingrown hairs, however my legs feel pretty dry after shaving and I have to slather on the moisturiser in order to disguise the feeling.

So it was with much intruigue I purchased the Veet Suprem Essence In-Shower hair removal cream.

As you can see you get a 135ml tube of the hair removal cream and a little double sided sponge. It isn't too clear here but the top side of the sponge is white and much rougher than the pink underside. I used the pink side to spread the cream on to the desired location oh hair removal (for me it was legs) left for a minute and got in the shower. I didn't really want to get it wet, but it said to leave it on for only 4-6 minutes so I just decided to stand beside the stream of water and wait.......................................!

6 mins later I took the sponge and began using the rough pink side and the shower hose to rinse my legs clear of the cream, which by the way, did smell pretty nice, especially to begin with, but then I got whiffs of that not so lovely hair removing cream smell, which I guess you get with them all so it was to be expected. Once I'd removed all the cream from my legs, they did feel very smooth. They were however pretty red, I don't know if that was just the cream or a combination of the cream and buffing it off with a rough shower. However, there was no burnt or cracked skin, like I've heard with other hair removing cream horror stories. My legs felt tingly, but in a good way.

Overall, I was really impressed with the product and my silky smooth legs, but I do just find the whole process a bit of a faff. That's why I like shaving. In, out, bang, done! I 'll defo use the rest of this up, I reckon I'll get another 2 uses out of the tube. Whether I'll repurchase depends on the next time it's on offer (hehe).

Collective NOTW

I never have a true NOTW as I very rarely wear the same polish for a week. But at the same time, it would be untrue to post a NOTD as I wear it for more than a day, providing there's no major chippage! So, I surmised I would post a series of finger fashion, showing what I wore on my nails over the course of a week.

This week I have been mostly wearing...

This is Rimmel's Grey Matter with a top coat of China Glaze's Fairy Dust, which I only recently bought. I love how pretty this makes my polish and it's very very sparkly. The only downside is that it takes elbow grease to remove the glitter polish. Worth it though!!

I jumped on the yellow nails bandwagon and purchased Collection 2000's Hot Looks in Lemon Soda, Apologies for the awful glare on the bottle but the colour on my nail is true to life. I'm still undecided about yellow nails. I think they would look great with a tan, but I just felt like I had custard fingers. Maybe one to try again...

Last, but not least, and quite possibly my favourite is Barry M's Berry Ice Cream. I only bought this on Monday and I am definitely in love. It's a gorgeous pastel lilac. It took two coats to appear opaque and it applied like a dream. I only wish it was scented and actually smelled like berry ice cream...yum!

Mini Sally's Haul

Last week I was in Sally's and I picked up a couple of things I thought you might like to see.

The 1st thing is a Cina white nail art pen. I've been after one for a while as I'm really getting in to making my nails very pretty. I have tried it out a few times, mostly just messing about. I am left handed so my right hand always looks pretty but my left hand just looks awful. Can someone let me know how you manage to do your 'other' hand without it looking like you've let a 3 year old loose with it. I will keep practicing though...

The 2nd thing I got was a China Glaze polish in Fairy Dust and OH MY GOD I adore it. This is my first CG polish - and it will not be my last. I just love the way the sparkles shine in the light, there are so many colours of glitter in there. I tried to take some pics of it catching the light, and this was my best effort...

BEAUTIFUL

I'm sure this will be featured in many NOTW posts. I think it's my current obsession.

Clothes Haul - Primark, H&M and Next

So over the weekend I did a spot of shopping. I needed a few bits and pieces that I could wear day to day and also to take on my trip to Krakow, which is less than a fortnight away. So here's my loot...

First off, I got these 2 pairs of shoes. I'd wanted a pair of black brogues for a while now so I picked these ones up in Primark for £8. And these gorgeous gold sandals were only £4.

I also picked up this dress from Primark for only £10. I love the nude colour and I think it will look great for night on holiday.

I got this grey blazer (which for some reason was not focusing great in the 1st pic). I love it because it's really light so great for chilly summers nights and I also adore the cute heart print on the cuffs. I think it looks great over the dress.

Lastly from Primark, I got these earrings. Nope, I don't think 7 pairs of earrings are excessive at all. :) The 5 pack of pearls were only £1 and the flowers were £1.50 for the pair. Steal!

I then headed over to H&M where I got 2 dresses.

It's a little cotton dress that comes to mid thigh. I think it's really cute and I got it to go over leggings, but it would be a great cover up for the pool or beach. I got it in navy as well, and here's a close up of the print...

The last item I got was from Next and it's a really gorgeous floral top/dress - however you'd choose to wear it.

I just adore the mix of bright, summery colours and I think it would look fab with a tan...So come on sunshine, where are you hiding???

I'm Back...With May favourites

Hey guys...remember me?

Well I haven't posted for absolutely ageeees!! I don't know why...I just haven't felt like it. I always told myself that if I didn't feel like posting then I wouldn't. It's no fun for me to have to force a post, and I definitely think its no fun for you guys either...no one wants to read a post that's so obviously forced and it's just not going to be good. So anyways, I didn't post for a couple of months, then the other day I was reading through my blog roll (I still read this regularly) and I decided I really missed blogging, and lo and behold, here I am...with May favs!!

The first thing I've been loving this month is the Lee Stafford poker straight flat iron protection spray. I've used this every day before blow drying to give my hair a bit of heat protection. I love it so much it's almost gone. Oh and the smell is completely divine.

Maybelline the falsies volume express mascara in black. This has been my staple mascara for a while now, it just gives me those fab, fat lashes that make me want to flutter all day.

Barry M nail paint in bright purple has been my go to polish this month. I think its such a pretty colour, but the name does baffle me...it's not bright!!

I picked up the Maybelline gel eyeliner at the end of April and at first I wasn't keen. I am a gel liner novice and at first I just couldn't get the hang of it. But a bit of practice and now I'm a-loving it. Its soo black and really stays put.

This ELF bronzer is actually something I picked up quite a while ago, but as it was winter I found it a bit too shimmery for me. Now, since we have a bit of sunshine (Emphasis on BIT) I have been enjoying this product a lot more, and the lighter colour makes for a great highlighter.

I blogged about my Good Things Stop That Spot clearing gel when I first got it, and since then I've been using it on any blemishes when they decide to rear their ugly head. I don't know how much faster they clear the spot but it definitely feels very cooling and soothing and I very much like it. It also smells really nice.

I won the MAC paint pot in Constructivist on a blog giveaway a few months back, and recently I've been loving it as a base for the colours in my Naked palette. It's also really pretty on its own.

Finally, I have discovered my absolute favourite nail polish remover in Cutex nourishing nail polish remover. It removes polish really quickly, it doesn't have a god awful acidic smell that lingers for hours, and it contains a whitening formula to help stop any nasty staining. A real winner for me!

Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation

A few weeks back I told you that I'd purchased Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect foundation. This is the 1st Bourjois foundation I've tried. Lot's of you had raved about the Healthy Mix foundation so I thought I'd give this one a try...

I've been wearing this almost everyday for the past couple of weeks now and I can definitely say I am a fan. It's a really light formulation and blends really easy into your skin. I only need maximum 3 pumps to cover my full face. It gives a lovely dewy glow without looking shiny. The coverage is medium, but buildable. I will happily wear this all day on it's own but if I want fuller coverage I sometime layer it with something else, like Maybelline 24hr Superstay.

It doesn't last all day, but it doesn't claim to.

It does however give a lovely fresh appearance to the skin, which is the aim...10 hours sleep. It's also enriched with vitamins and minerals to help your skin and it does have a really nice scent, but nothing too overpowering.

This is something I will definitely repurchase. Have you guys tried this foundation?
