Packing for a crop

I have not attended a crop in several years. I have a very well-stocked scrapbook area at home, so I usually gather with friends here. But my Stampin’ Up consultant added last minute weekend crop at a nearby hotel and I am eager to get out and join the crop community again.

I have attended a few retreat events, but they were basically class events, not independent cropping so I did not need to pack anything other than my basic tool kit; so I need to plan out what I will be taking to get the most out of my crafting time.

I have created a packing list specific to this event. I will not be staying overnight at the hotel since it is nearby, so I do not need to pack clothes and such; just what is needed for scrapbooking.

The first thing to consider is what I hope to accomplish and plan ahead by making up kits and printing photos when possible.

I do plan to bring my Epson Picture Mate PM-400 so I will be able to print photos as needed, but I would rather spend my time crafting rather than printing photos.

So let’s get started on what I will need.

I’ll start with my Basic kit, the one that I need for almost all projects.

o Scissors

o Trimmer (Spare Blades)

o Adhesive (wet & dry) Refills

o Pencil

o Eraser

o Piercing mat & tool

o Foam Tape

o Wet Wipes

o Stitching Supplies

o Case for finished pages

Then I will move on to the extra tools & equipment. There will be a Cricut machine and die cutting machine available for use so I don’t need to pack those

o Moving sliders (for chair)

o Photo Printer

o Photo Paper

Mosaic Moments Workshop

Saturday, March 28, 2020 11am – 3pm $28

Following the Mosaic Card classes, many students asked to have a workshop to learn to apply the techniques they learned to creating scrapbook layouts. This workshop will allow those with basic knowledge of the Mosaic Moments system to work on creating their own unique layouts. This is NOT a class in the sense that a project is designed for you. You will bring 6-10 related photos (from a single event or subject) that you want to include on you layout. We will provide 2 grid sheets of your choice and help guide you through design and placement of your photos. You will be able to purchase pattern paper and embellishment to go on your page or you are welcome to bring your own if you have something you want to use. The workshop will be divided into 3 groups, each group will have its own instructor so everyone will get personal assistance. Some basic Mosaic Moments dies will be available to use to add to your projects during the workshop. We are considering this a “level 1” workshop – more intricate page designs will be planned for a “level 2” workshop to be planned in the future.

Look forward to the new year and looking for ideas. What would you like to see here at the Inspiration Station? What type of classes or products would you like to see offered? Also, do you like to see project inspiration posts? I do a lot of creating but only post the things that we have current product for. Would you like to see things even if the papers or things are older or not available, or does that frustrate you if those items are no longer available? I often look to other peoples work for ideas but don't need to use the same products so it rarely bothers me if something is older but I know others want exactly what they see so I have hesitated posting a lot of my work. Let's hear from you.

New Mosaic Moments Pages

I had a chance this week to play with the Mosaic Moments Horizon Die set so I wanted to share my creations. I love the way they turned out. I think these dies are perfect for outdoor photos of different events.

The first page is from our whale watch in Provincetown, MA and used paper and embellishments from Kaisercraft.

The next is from a trip I took with friends several years ago to Animal Kingdom. The base paper is an old Bo Bunny line and the embellishment were cut from a Graphic 45 paper.

More than 20 vendors selling their new and previously loved craft supplies. Bargains galore.
• Only Vendors will be allowed to enter before 10am. No exceptions.
• Each table/vendor is a separate "shop". Important - you must pay for your purchases (CASH only) at each separate table before moving to the next one. You can not gather items together and carry them around. Please bring small bills and change and be patient as each vendor tallies your purchases.
• Any purchases made inside the store, regular and sale merchandise must be paid for at the register (we can do a single transaction for everything).
• All sales are final on sale merchandise.
• Bring more small bills and change than you think you will need! It is a Sunday and we don't have a way to get you change. (Store purchases may be made with checks/credit cards as well).

In this class you will learn about setting up your machine, using Design Space, and cutting materials including cardstock & vinyl. Class is $28 and space is limited. I have come to realize just how many different adhesives there are out there! Some of the things that hold people back in their creating is not having the right tools for what they are trying to create. When a store carries the few adhesives I recommend they do sell a lot of product because I demo it and explain the benefits. They also tend to sell more Lawn Fawn because people had a fun, un-stressful experience creating their cards aka not fighting with their adhesive choices

Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive Runner: or something comparable, not a tape runner, please carry dots

Quickie Glue Pen: I prefer this one for the detail glittering we do. The Zig 2-way glue pen tends to be too wet, and not detail enough. I will also explain when I like to use this and when I like to use the Lawn Fawn Glue Tube.

3M Mounting Tape: I use this instead of pop dots. I explain in my classes how it is more affordable, its easier to work with (doesn’t stick to scissors, you can rip it, and the backing is easy to peel etc.)

Detail Scissors: I love the Fiskars Micro-Tip Scissors

1/8″ double-sided tape: Lawn Fawn now carries this tape and it is fabulous! A great price point, and made in the USA! This is required for each student to have in order to put together the interactive cards

Lawn Fawn Glue Tube: I will go over the best times to use this adhesive and how it actually makes creating cards easier

EK Tools Craft Tweezers: People find them helpful with the small pre-stamped/cut pieces

It's almost that time of year again. We are getting calls every day with questions about our Spring Tag Sale. We are extremely limited for available dates this year due to other obligations so we only have one date available - no rain date. This means if you sign up as a vendor, you must understand that if the weather is bad, we will cancel and give you a refund, but we cannot offer another date.

We will begin registration on April 28th. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please do not call and ask us to hold a spot or "pencil" you in. We have to be fair to everyone. Because of the limited space and high demand, we are limiting people to ONE spot per person this year. A spot is ONE 6 foot table (provided by you or rented from us for an additional fee) and the ground below it. Now that we have covered some of the more difficult details here is the rest of the information.

For $12 per space, you can rent space for a 6 foot table (provided by you) in our parking lot to sell off your previously loved crafting supplies and earn CASH to replenish your stash. Here’s how it works.

Space is limited so first-come first-served. Registration begins Saturday, April 28th at 10am.
Cost of a space is $12 per space - Limit 1 space per person. A limited number of tables are available for $2 extra and must be requested at registration. Fee is non-refundable unless the event is canceled due to weather. There is no rain date. Cash only.
Set up will begin at 9am, please be on time.
You are responsible for pricing, setting up, selling and packing up all your merchandise.
You are responsible for all transactions - please be sure to bring adequate change for your cash box and bags for merchandise.
You will be located outside in the back parking lot so please plan accordingly.
All of your merchandise must be packed up and removed by 3pm.

The Inspiration Station is not responsible for loss or damage to your merchandise. All sales are final.
