If you're new to the site, you'll find a lot of information here, from the latest news to the pillars of faith that our church is built upon.

dec services are held every Sunday morning at 8:00 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:30 AM. A special communion service is held once a month at 7:00 PM on Wednesday nights. And there's plenty of great ministry and churchwide gatherings all the time. Check out the events page for more information.

If you're thinking about coming to dec for the first time, we'd love to have you. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us for more information. But whether or not you come visit us or drop us a line, we want to make sure you know two very important things:

God loves you, and you're welcome here.

<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/DecNews" />
<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="hub" href="http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/" /><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:subtitle>durham evangelical church</itunes:subtitle><geo:lat>43.128085</geo:lat><geo:long>-70.960353</geo:long><creativeCommons:license>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/</creativeCommons:license>

Some Rights Reserved

<feedburner:emailServiceId>DecNews</feedburner:emailServiceId><feedburner:feedburnerHostname>http://feedburner.google.com</feedburner:feedburnerHostname>

Would you like to help serve communion?

Communion Sunday is the second Sunday of every month. If you are interested in serving communion, you can sign up with a simple click on the link below.

They participated in a two-week short-term mission trip with Medical Mission International (MMI).

MMI establishes a clinic in a village chosen by the Malian church to assist with church planting or village outreach. Villagers come to the clinic, receive help for parasites, malaria or wounds, and receive medication and vitamins. Almost all of them were malnourished. Before leaving the clinic, each patient is introduced to Jesus Christ through a short personal presentation made by Malian church members using the EvangeCube.

The team arrived in Bamako Friday evening after nearly 24 hours of traveling. The first day was spent gathering and organizing medical supplies that would be needed for two clinics: the first near at the village of Digato (near Bamako) and the second in the village of Mafoune, close to the border of the country of Burkina Faso.

On Sunday the 15th, the team attended a church service near Bamako and was able to participate in the inauguration ceremony acknowledging the house church as an actual church. After the service, Madeleine Allard (MMI Director) and the team met with the village chief and elders and Madeleine was able to ask the chief to donate land so the church could have an actual building.

The first clinic was established in the village of Digato and continued through Wednesday. The team was able to treat 179 patients and 27 became Christians. The Jesus Film was shown on Tuesday night and was met with much spiritual warfare and the team was not aware of any conversions that night.

On Thursday, January 19th, a very long (almost 18 hours) journey was made to Mafoune. The clinic began operation on Friday and continued through Tuesday. Overall 184 patients were seen with 39 decisions for Christ. The Jesus Film was shown on Sunday the 22nd and close to 1,000 villagers attended and stayed for the duration of the film. After the movie was finished, the pastor spoke and 176 people came forward to dedicate their lives to Christ!

The team rested in Bamako on Wednesday the 25th and organized supplies for the next team. The journey back to the U.S. began on Thursday.

Because of the overwhelming generosity of DEC members during the Vitamin Drive, the team was able to give just about every patient at the two clinics a month’s supply of multivitamins. Additionally, many vitamins were left at Dr. Luther’s clinic in Bamako (Malian doctor supporting the clinic team). The great blessing was that there were sufficient vitamins donated (several thousand) to supply the next DEC/MMI ministry team leaving for Peru in July. Thanks for the outstanding support and continuous intercessory prayers!

A great short documentary video has been made to provide a picture of the activities and events of the team during this outreach. Enjoy!

Have you ever wondered how the Old Testament fits into your life? Does the OT really have any influence on our lives today? How does God use the OT scriptures in our lives today? These are some of the questions we want to explore over the next year. Join us in the worship center for a couple of hours on the third Friday of each month to see how God reaches for man throughout the history. The dec teaching team will lead the exploration of how and why the OT has been and is still shaping the world we live in.
