For those of you on a budget these days and even buying cheap shoes is not an option for you, you might want to try making these awesome running shoes from old tires and jeans!

I know, it’s a weird way to do it but it might be fun to make plus you will save some carbon footprint in the process.

When I tried to wear a pair of these homemade huaraches, the straps chaffed the top of my feet and pulled at my leg hairs as I walked. It was terrible. But I still wanted to wear shoes made from old car tires and other upcycled materials. So I decided to make a homemade running shoe, similar to the type of shoes Bill Bowerman made for Steve Prefontaine — the original Nikes.

Har Parkash, an Indian man determined to set the world record for the most world flags tatooed on his body, is right on schedule with 220 world flags on his body currently. We must say this is a fantastic goal, would love to see what comes out of it.

After changing his name from Har Parkash to Guinness Rishi, in order to show his commitment to setting Guinness records, this Indian daredevil wants to cover his body with 220 flag tattoos.

Now, Guinness Rishi wants to become a human flag pole, by tattooing 220 national flags on his body. He has started his effort at the top of his head, continued with his face, got a map of the world on his stomach, and plans to get his privates tattooed as well. He just hasn’t decided what he’s going to put down there. Rishi’s efforts began in 2009 and he plans to fulfill his dream in three years time, but by the looks of things, he just might finish ahead of schedule.

Here’s a rather interesting F1 Racing Car all made from recycled puma boxes. I am liking this idea by the designer Ben Wilson, who had been contracted by Puma to design a life-size replica of the Formula 1 race car out of Puma shoe boxes. Not only is this good marketing, I can say this is the wave of the future design, recycling things to re-make things, not wasting.

We’re keen on spotting creative reuses for product packaging. UK based Ben Wilson Design recently worked with Puma to construct a scale replica of a Formula 1 race car out of shoe boxes. The project aimed to represent Puma’s ongoing relationship with motor sports. Ben kindly provided a bit of detail on the project to PSFK.

As some of you well know, earthquake has hit Chile earlier today, an 8.8 magnitude, one of the largest earthquakes in history of mankind. My regards for people in Chile, stay strong!

It seems that has set off tsunamis that are heading towards Hawaii as I am writing this blog post. I believe most residents have evacuated and hopefully, the tsunami won’t be devastating to Hawaii. Watch the video above to see the action live, it should hit any minute.

Stealth F117 was probably one of the most powerful/stealthiest fighter jets in the world.  Well, it’s been retired already but folks at EnglishRussia have received some “classified” documents on how to disarm Stealth F117s and make them no longer “stealth”.  The answer is rather simple, you just whack the pilot compartment with a shovel!  This I guess will damage the anti-radar surface of the stealth F117.  Wow, I knew you wanted to know that it was so simple for such an expensive aircraft.

A grandmother has entered the record books after catching the biggest ever freshwater fish by a British woman – a 15st 4lb catfish.

Sheila Penfold, who stands at just 5ft 3in and is registered blind, was nearly dragged into the river when the monster catfish took her bait during a holiday in Spain.

The 56-year-old had to be directed by husband Alan and son Arthur as she fought for 30 minutes to land the prized 214lb catch.

When the French conceptual artist Michel de Broin first spoke to his mates about producing the biggest disco ball the world had ever seen and suspending high above the night sky of Paris, surely they would have thought him a little nutso. True Michel’s work does dabble in the absurd both in public and private spaces but a 7.5 metre disco ball featuring 1000 mirrors suspended by a freaking crane 50 metre into the air… I mean, really?
