I definitely will read Evans-Wentz's book. I have known for over seven years someone who I believe to be one of the Fae born into a human body. The first time I saw him, I "knew", even though at the time I had never heard of or even considered the possibility of incarnated Fae, halflings, or similar beings. Interestingly, this person's ancestry is Irish, Scottish and Icelandic. He doesn't seem to have a clue who he is.

I just wanted to take a moment and commend you for taking such a keen interest in Celtic studies. As a writer, I tend to do a great deal of research for my stories and I often find it difficult to locate a free website that offers such a broad spectrum of "complete" and historically accurate information. I must say that this site is a godsend. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge on the subject.

All the best,

I came across this website while researching my family history. Id greatly appericate any assistance or information about the ones called "Tuathach". All my research keeps leading me back to that name. Supposedly, I and my family are their decendants and I (Not to mention my children) would love to know more. You can reach me at AWToohey@Hotmail.com

Well Afro-dravidian people sounds like a typical propaganda by the colonialists to expand their soul harvesting. Similar to the Afro-dalit project where both are projected as down-trodden & exploited people who can be given the book & their lands taken away.
Also recently there have been burials dug out with skeleton in Yogic samadhi positions. Its an article by Micheal Danino.

@ Dealg MacTire: This isn't a "paper" but part of a book: The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries by W.Y. Evans-Wentz (1911). He went on to write many other books of an academic nature, notably a translation of The Tibetan Book of the Dead (1927). If you think you can do better, do it. Aside from that, what point are you trying to make in critiquing composition (and not substance)? Speaking of self-importance and self-centeredness,... perhaps a good look in the mirror might locate the rather large log in your own eye.

A quick Google for your name results in nothing useful. I guess you haven't written anything under that name, academic or otherwise. Just trolling through?

I have a PhD in Anthropology (Ethnography), and while there was a lot of interesting stuff referenced here by the author, this has to be one of the worst written academic papers I have ever had to read. Sadly, while the author is obviously educated, vocabulary aside, he is still nearly incapable of writing a coherent and straight-forward sentence, and he is in serious need of an editor's help. I must also note that while he may be doing his serious best to address this topic, his choice of words throughout this paper consistently reflect a clear self-centeredness that has the effect of tainting everything he says with his own value judgments and self-importance. Objectivity is totally absent. Sadly, this is a horrible paper about a very good topic of research. I almost hope that this paper might possibly have been written as a tongue–in-cheek parody of an academic study. Sorry to be so critical, but after struggling though this paper I felt someone should to be honest about it.

I have seen fairy lights on two separate occasions in two different trees in two different yards. Both times was during the flowering of the 'BottleBrush' tree. I live in Australia. At that time I lived very near the beach and close to the protected bushland dunes. Both times my 'wheelie bin' was parked beneath these trees, and I was approaching the bin at dusk each time when I saw them. I went straight up to bin and loaded my rubbish in, and stood back and marvelled at what I was seeing. Because I was so close I was able to see that they were not insects of any description. They glowed so intensely and yet seemed figureless. I believe. I just wish I could commune with them more. I too have had a dream when I was a child. I was invited to a more forest like setting by a fairy that I often played with. I lived in the country when I was a child. Once I was taken to their home I was told that I could stay. I was offered food by one fairy, but I was told by mental communication from others present that if I ate I would not be able to return to my family. I also knew at that time that I would not be able to return to theirs. The trouble is, it has left me wanting more contact. Perhaps I should just be grateful!

Thank you so much for posting this interesting article. While I am not sure I would call this a "short" summary, I find this extremely fascinating. Obviously you have studdied this subject extensively and passionately. All who read owe you gratitude for your hard work. I see yet one more way our ancient ancesters were civilized and not just barbarians as some would have had it. Every word dismantles one more brick of misconception layed by English and Roman alike.

I had a dream about a year ago that seems to fit with your description of the 'banshee.' The dream showed an old woman in a white cloak who was sitting on this throne in a grove of trees. I entered and there was a large hewn stump with three "tree branch fairies" sticking out of it. They started singing a whimsical and melodious song. I didn't get the feeling that the song was for me. since then there have been several deaths that may have been suggested by the banshee and other dream indicators. I've had numerous encounters with spirits, mostly in dreams, over the years who have taken the form of mythical figures. Please share any insights. Is there something I can do to intercede? I get the message that these dreams are to prepare, initiate or to avoid pitfalls. Thanks!
