Blimey - is it really almost May already ???

So, an interesting year so far. I write this on my eldest daughters birthday, she is 2 today and she makes every day sunny for me.

My big news is that I am the official UK NAPP Evangelist. For those that don't know NAPP, it's the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, an organisation based in the US but is THE big player in supporting Photoshop all over the world.

Deefer has kept me busy in the first quarter.

I'm working on a new site for a top branded entertainments communication company who are behind the new Bernard Matthews advert and the recent England ads featuring Peter Crouch, Jermaine Defoe and Chris Kamara. They also produced the FA RESPECT campaigns amongst many others. I'm looking forward to this site going live, it was designed and integrated into a CMS system.

A full website, blog, social media, email newsletter package for a company that arranges sporting dinners, auctions and sporting memorabilia in and around London.

Website, social media set up and email newsletter campaign for a franchise consultant business in Colchester.

A couple of small budget startup business websites for local businesses.

PLUS I bagged myself a full time position of Marketing Manager with a business aimed at investing in business ideas for entrepeneurs, small businesses and people with great ideas but no budget. Interesting and diverse !

2010 - January Update

Blimey ! That month went quick, as the months seem to do as I get older.
This is the first proper month for Deefer Design, the past couple of months being a set up time.

Branding

So January was relatively busy for me. I finished branding and stationery design for a promotional company in Nottingham, website is still work in progress.

CMS Web Design

We have a CMS website almost ready for an estate agency finance consultancy business based in Colchester, expected to go live at the end of February. Included is email marketing, SEO and social media.

Concepts

Currently working on web design concepts, including video gallery, for a large commercial and digital media studio based in Central London. This company has already won three prestigious D&D awards so the pressure is on to make the site design absolutely spot on. Already provided assistance on Twitter & YouTube branding for them.

Graphics

I also provided graphics for a new TV show pilot being recorded this month. The show is called 'Barry Bites Back' and features comedy character 'Barry from Watford' who regularly appears on Steve Wright in the Afternoon show on Radio 2. Barry is played by actor Alex Lowe, Alex has appeared in numorous comedies, his full list is here on IMDB.

Client Support

Still providing ongoing support for marketing and design for my regular clients and have two potential web projects coming up next month.

Better get on with some work !

NAPP Coming to London

As a keen member of NAPP I often check out Scott Kelby's blog over at www.scottkelby.com.
This week was quite exciting as a letter (of the month i might add) I had written to Photoshop Creative magazine a couple of months back asking Photoshop users in the UK to join our* Facebook group was read by Scott and subsequently mentioned on his blog.

Now both myself and a colleague, Ant Hodges, are enthusiastic users of Photoshop and both respect and admire the NAPP organisation for what it offers and also the enthusiasm the team there have in supporting it's members. I can't praise NAPP highly enough.
