A Late August Dusk concept in October? A bit late though, the idea of this mix was actually conceived in the end of the last summer. It is one of my favorite mixes and i thought it deserved to be posted. It tries to give the perception of a late august dusk, when it is still summer, but everyone feels that the end is coming. Earlier sunsets, cooler evenings. A sweet yet decadent flavor...

It has been 10 years already since October 1998, a month that proved to be a breaking point of my life, a start of the most exciting period. Not much more to say about that. "October 98", the 4th mix of the Deep Techno Blog is not a musical retrospective of these years, although it was initially thought to be one. It accompanies my deepest thoughts & my sweetest memories of this period, consisting of 14 tracks of modern techno & tech house music, moving to a harder musical direction than the previous, deeper, mixes.

Every afternoon during summer, tourists are heading to the village of Oia, on the west coast of the island of Santorini. It is considered to be one of the best spots in the Aegean to watch the sunset because of the elevation of the site giving the impression of a sun dipping into the sea. In fact, everyone recognizes this rumor to be exaggerated but who can blame other people for trying to find the best spot to watch the sunset when everyone of us has done it at least once?

This mix, the 3rd of the Deep Techno Blog series, is a tribute to this moment. 64 minutes of deep techno inspired by a late august afternoon in Santorini, among hundreds of people sharing the same experience: A quest for a mystical moment as the summer ends...

An Axiom is a mathematical statement that serves as a starting point. Axioms, unlike Theorems are not demonstrable by proofs. Their truth is self-evident simply because they are starting points. The Deep-Techno Blog goes Live!

Welcome all,

I decided to start a blog in order to publish my DJ mixes and share my musical tastes. The construction of this page took a bit long because my purpose was not to create just a space for mp3s, but to offer an esthete view of the music it represents. The design of the Deep Techno Blog does not hide my preference for a minimal way of style. The main business of the Deep Techno Blog is to care for what you hear, but the importance of the visual content cannot be ignored by its author.

About Deep-Techno music: Techno seems to be all around. But is it the Techno music our ears were trained to, several years ago? Obviously not. During the last years we all experienced a shift in dance music. The electronic music, tired by 4 years of progressive darkness needed a new direction again. And this was found in a years existing genre. Bleeping sounds, lower BPMs overwhelmed the dancefloors and the rest is well known. Techno, Mininal, Tech House are separate genres in most common online music shops, Kompakt replaced Bedrock (do they still exist?) as superstar DJs (do they still exist either?) favorite label. Nothing reminds the days back when you had to search the cached vinyls at a record shop to discover any releases of Trapez or Raum Musik.

Comments are very welcome, suggestions and arguments on any feature of the Deep Techno blog are even more desirable. As this is a first, raw attempt watch out for future changes and updates.
