Applying for Voter ID Card through NVSP (National Voters Service Portal)

If you are a resident of India and have attained the age of 18 by January 2019 you are eligible to apply for voter id and caste your vote in the up-coming Lok Sabha Elections.

It is a duty of every eligible citizen to caste their votes in the elections, an important decision is in your hands, and if you don't still have a voter ID or EPIC (Elector's Photo Identity Card) then you should apply for now as soon as possible. The Election commission has made it very easy for any Indian citizen to do so - all you need is a your identity and address proofs, and an internet connection.

I will guide you through the entire process, I myself have recently registered as a voter in the state of Madhya Pradesh, you should too from your Assembly Constituency.

Things you will need

A few things are needed before we proceed, please note it down, it will be easier to start filling the online form if you already have prepared this things beforehand

Address Proof - An address proof is mandatory, it can be Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Gas Connection Bill, Electricity Bill, Rent Agreement in your name and your current address.

Note for people whose address proofs don't have their current address: However, many people faced problems because they reside in another city or state for education or work, no problem, ECI has made it easy for you too. In case your address is not the same as your current residential address on any of your document there is an easy option. You can submit a scanned copy Registered Post in your name on your current address as a proof of address as well!

So, what you have to do is, go to your nearest IndiaPost Post Office, buy an envelope and send it to your residential address with proper name on the envelope leaf's "To" field.

You may receive it in 1 - 2 days, then you can take a scan of it on both sides, and use it as Proof of Address for your current residential address.

This is what I provided as my proof of address for my current address
Identity Proof: Identity proof is more common, it can be Birth Certificate, PAN Card, 10th Admit Card or Certificate etc. Any or most Govt. documents with your date of birth is accepted as identity proof. Please check the list of documents on NVSP site as well.
If you are over age of 21 and registering for the first time, you will also need to fill in Age Declaration form. It is a simple document, with declaration of your age, you will have to download the Age Declaration form, print it out, put your details in the fields, do your signature at the given space. And scan it to upload it.

When your are on the NVSP site filling up the form, you will get the link to download Age Declaration Form, but when I tried it, it was not working so I had to use some other techniques to download the form eventually from the server, but you can save your time, I uploaded the raw Age declaration form on Google Drive, so you can download it here:

Your passport size photo, in a digital format.
An Internet connection. I believe you have it since you are reading this article.

A tip: If you do not want to spend time and money to get your documents scanned copies then if you have a phone with good quality camera you can use the camera to take pictures of your documents and then edit it in photo software like Snapseed (for mobile) or Adobe Photoshop and adjust colors etc to make it look clearer. I did it just like it, and it saved me a lot of time and trips to the printer store, so if you do not have scanner printer at home then try this method.

Other form fields are very simple and self explanatory. Fill in each of the fields, your permanent address, your residential (current) address and so on.

Under "Supporting Documents" you can upload the scanned copies of documents we discussed in previous section.

After Submission

After you submit the form, you will receive the reference number for tracking of your application.

My experience:

I submitted the application on 3rd March 2019, and by 16th of March 2019, my EPIC was generated and my name was added in the voter list.

The above is the example of track status screen.

You may get a call for field verification soon, and then upon field verification your application will be accepted (or rejected) and the EPIC will be generated.

I still to receive my Voter ID Card, but I believe it will be sent soon. I will update it once done, or maybe if anything else needs to be done in order to get the EPIC.

The preparation for the India Vs. Australia T20 in Guwahati is on and Guwahatians are excited about it.

The city of Guwahati is not very well known for being the host of International Cricket matches, a very few matches has been played here in the past but this T20 match between team India and Australia in Barsara Stadium or better known as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium is apparently going to change that and every cricket fan is excited!

Prevent Windows 10 From Using Too Much Data Bandwidth and Disable Windows Updates

If you recently opted in for Windows 10 and you are on an internet plan that doesn't allow you to freely have your operating system use for things that you do not even want it to then it will be a very difficult task for you to identify what's using up so much network data. In this post I will tell you simple ways in which I reduced my bandwidth that was being used in background by Windows 10 by 99.9%!

First we have to identify what can be using so much data bandwidth, number one reason is Windows Update, but Windows 10 doesn't give you any option to disable Windows updates from automatically being downloaded.

Disabling Windows 10 Automatic Update Download

I am using Windows 10 Pro and the steps below are only for Windows 10 Pro and above i.e it isn't applicable for Windows 10 Home.

There are three tasks that you have to follow to totally disable Windows Updates

1) Disable Downloading / Uploading Updates from Windows 10 Settings

Open Start
Click on Settings
Go to Update & Security > Windows Update
Click on "Advanced Options" > Choose the least automatic update favorable option, anyways this option is not going to make any difference.
It is important to know that Windows 10 not only downloads updates but by default it also uploads the update files to other Windows 10 computers via internet like a P2P Torrent client. So here, click on "Choose how updates are delivered" and turn it off .

That's it for the settings menu. This wouldn't actually stop automatic updates, so move onto the next part.

2) Disable Updates from the Group Policy Editor

Group Policies are set of different variables that controls various parts of Windows' system, simple options gives you the control over entire system. Note that you have to be logged in as an administrator, a general user cannot do it.

Press Windows Key+R and type gpedit.msc , press enter.
When the Group Policy Editor windows opens, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components
Double-Click on Windows Update and it will bring up a new screen with the options as mentioned below (note that "Enabled" next to "Configure automatic updates" is because I have it configured already, yours will say "Not configured")
Double click on "Configure Automatic Updates" and a new window will appear.
First select "Enabled" as above in the screenshot, then in the box under "Options" choose "2 - Notify for download and notify for install"
And press OK.

That's it. Now updates wouldn't download at all, you will be notified for downloading it but you can ignore.

Turning off Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)

Even if you have disabled updates you will notice that Windows 10 is still using a lot of data. In Windows' resource monitor you can always see that svchost.exe or Service Host:Local Process is always using significant amount of network resource.

That data is used by a background service known as Background Intelligent Transfer Service, you may not need it if you do not need it, it may not affect your Windows experience so turning it off is not a disadvantage.

Open Run window, press Windows Key + R
Enter services.msc in the Run window and hit enter
The "Services" window will open which lists all the services and its settings.
Right click on "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" and select "Stop"
Now once it is stopped, again right click on "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" and choose "Properties"
Next to "Start-up type" choose "Disabled" and click OK.

Making Sure It Uses Even Less Data

There are also some other options in the services.msc option that you may like to disable so you are sure it uses as much less data as it can.

The names of those services are as follows - Windows Update, Windows Search, Windows Store Service, Windows Error Reporting Services.

Please do read the definition carefully before disabling it. The procedure is same as above.

Doing this should reduce the data usage significantly. Before making these changes my 3G data card was using 300MB in 10 minutes or less which is not good for a connection with FUPs.

Where are the new PokeStops & Gym in Guwahati?

Good news for all Pokemon GO Players in Guwahati, new Pokestops and a Gym has been added on the map, that is, more Pokestop throughout the heart of the city, before, 3 Pokestops were at a small distance in Guwahati, that was the Kamakhya Temple, but that was not a viable option for many players for obvious reasons, it isn't in the heart of the city and not a place you can go to casually every day like you can in the city.

The new Pokestops are the other Digital Express / Reliance Digital stores that were left, when Pokemon GO came out in India we knew Jio stores are going to be added as Pokestops but unfortunately not all the Jio stores were turned into one, only a few were.

Here's a list of new PokeStops added on the map. Enjoy!

Digital Xpress Mini (Ullubari) - There was a Pokestop already at this location named "Jio Fort Building", but another one was added right on the same place, thus the two Pokestops overlaps each other, so you may have to check which Pokestop you have tapped to spin.
Digital Xpress store (Silpukhri) - Another Digital Xpress store that is in Silpukhri is also turned in a PokeStop.
Digital Xpress, Survey Road (Wireless, Beltola) - New PokeStop

2016 Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme (Laptop Distribution) for Matric Students

Every year the students who appeared for HSLC or Matriculation and Assam Higher Madrassa are eager for the Laptop distribution that is held generally at the end of the year or January of the next year.

The same is true with the students who appeared and secured the first division in their examinations this year i.e 2016, the students are eager to know when the laptop distribution will be held/

As of now there has been no official statement on when the ARBAS (Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme ) Laptop distribution will be held, last year it was held in January and in 2014 in December. The date every year hasn't been the same and it is apparent but looking at the history of the months we can assume that it will most definitely be held before 2017's HSLC examinations.

The dates for the laptop distribution in various districts like Dibrugarh, Kamrup and others are yet to be announced. Right now the registrations is going on so we can safely assume that it might not be anytime soon in January, we will have to wait for a few more days to get an update.

Anyways, we would like to mention that students will get their invitation cards from their school as it reaches them, keep patience and ask for update from your school's authority as well if needed.

Pokémon Go! was released on the Playstore almost around 6 months ago in July but it wasn't until mid December when players in Assam and certain parts of India could actually go out and play even with the .apk files downloaded from other sources which is because most of the part of the country, including Assam was geo-blocked, a fancy term for not spawning Pokemon where the game hasn't been launched.

The good news is that the game is finally out in India and the parts which were geo-blocked are no longer a dead place, you can go out and find Pokemon in the real World!

Though one major problem that is apparent in Assam is the lack of PokeStops and Gyms, a Pokestop is a place where the player can go to in accordance to get items in their inventory which is required to progress further in the game, and a Gym is also a place, basically a historical monument, a temple or any popular public feature, where teams in the game can battle with their Pokemon.

If you are an active player of Pokeon GO! game in Assam you already may have seen that the lack of PokeStops and Gyms is a major problem, and it is quite difficult to find one near you. How to Use ATM Card (Debit Cards) to Pay Online & in Apps

Recently much of the Indian population has resorted to e-wallets and cashless transactions due to the demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes, which is actually a great thing, now most of your transactions are easy with online banking but online banking is not something every account holder or even most of them has, so our most convenient option is ATM / Debit Card.

Most of the bank account holders possesses a Debit card which is more commonly known as ATM card in India. The most common use of it by people in India is to withdraw money from ATM machines but many are unaware or might have never used it for a cashless transaction using MPOS machine or an online transaction.

Using it through an MPOS machine is no different than using it in an ATM, swipe the card, enter the PIN, the rest is done by the shop owner or the merchant to get the payment successfully.

How to use Debit / ATM Card for Online Trasactions

The first step towards using it is to make sure that your ATM card can actually be used for online transactions, however all major banks' ATM cards can be used as Debit card but still let's be sure, to check it, take your ATM card and look for the logo of a Debit card service company. Visa and Maestro are major ones so we will cover those. Here's what the logo of both services looks like

A look at the front side of your Debit Card might be similar to this.

We have a UCO Bank Visa Debit card here. The 16 digit number, the "Valid Thru" number which is actually the month and the year your debit card is valid upto and the logo of the Debit card service, in our case it is Visa.

Things to note down from the front.

1. The 16 digit debit card number. xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx

2. The valid thru month and year, this is always required, so you should remember it. 05/19 here is the fifth month i.e May and the year 2019.

The following is the back of your Debit card which has the black magnetic stripe.

At the back you will find the 3 digit CVV or CVC, this is always needed to safely proceed with transaction, it is always wise to not publicly disclose it to others, this adds an extra layer of security.

From the back of the card, we have:

1. CVV/ CVC 3 digit number - XXX

Let's make a transaction

If you have shopped online before or have done recharge from for example say Freecharge, you may have noticed it gives you a lot of options for payment, Internet Banking, E-Wallet, Credit / Debit card. Internet banking is used by many, and most of them use it, but it is more time consuming, you have to go through entering passwords and username, adding OTP and in some cases transaction passwords, with Debit cards you can save your card details and use it in a flash.

To make a safe and inexpensive transaction, let's use the FreeCharge app, it is a great app for mobile recharges, DTH, electricity bill and more.

Sign-up, use your phone number and email address to complete the sign-up process.
Now proceed to do a recharge of your mobile phone, DTH, or pay postpaid by. Choose the option from "New Payment" section.
Enter your phone number / DTH number, or customer ID depending on what kind of payment you are making. And proceed to the next screen, which will ask you to select an amount.
After you select an amount you are presented with the options to pay and enter Promo code (we have a promo code for new users, so you get Rs. 50 back on your first transaction!)
This is the screen you will get, it is pretty straightforward but still for your convenience here's a visual representation of what you will see and what do you need to fill in.

1. Choose "Debit/Credit"
2. Optional. For Rs. 50 cashback on transaction of over Rs. 150, enter the code R8R1DQN in the "Promo Code" field. Note that only the first recharge is eligible. So make sure you make a transaction of over Rs. 150 for cashback.
3. Enter your card details. The sixteen digit debit card number, valid thru date and finally the CVV.
Once you have entered all the details correctly proceed to pay the amount. Now depending on your bank, it will take you to a payment page. There you have to enter the details it will ask. In most cases you will receive an OTP on your registered phone number that you have to enter in the payments page for the payment to be made by the bank from your account.
The previous part is different based on the debit card service and the bank, but it is easy, all you need is the details of your bank account. This is mostly one time, but, payments through debit card online will generally need OTP from your phone i.e whenever you are making a payment, the bank will send you a code that you have to enter to make sure it is you making the payment.

In Freecharge app you can save the card details so you don't have to enter it each time you are making a payment.

Where else I can use Debit Card to pay online

The best thing is that all major apps and online services accepts it, as it is the most standard way of paying online other than Internet banking.

You can use it on Uber, PayTM, Amazon.in, Flipkart, Snapdeal, just about any website or app where you can make payments!

How To Use Dialpad In WhatsCall During Calls

WhatsCall is obviously a widely used application for making phone calls for free all over the World. The app though lacks one feature that is request frequently by its users, it is the touch-tone dialpad during call.

This feature is needed for those who likes to call on number that requires you to punch in numbers while you are in call, like a customer support number or so.

I myself have had problems, as I had to wait until the automated voice on the other end connected to someone human on the other end itself, but it takes too long and it is not always an option as not all operator would do that.

A little background -
Now, I came up with an idea, after thinking about it I found out that touchtone keypad works because each of the key makes a different sound and that is what the computer on the other end actually needs.

If you can get to make the exact beep sound during the call then you can easily pass through it.

The trick

This handy website is just perfect, no wonder that you need to be near a computer or laptop to use it, but don't you think that is at least better than nothing?

Tada, It should be working if you did everything right.

What if I don't have a laptop or computer near me?

A little workaround that is unlikely to work is to switch to your phone's dialer and press the keys to make the touch tone beep while you are asked to enter a number during call.

I have tried it and it seems to work sometimes, only sometimes. Maybe increasing volume to the max may work better.

The documents you need: Valid proof of identity (Passport, PAN card), Valid proof of address (Gas subscription card etc,) and 1 passport size photo (make sure it is not older than 3 months, it needs to look just like you.)

It has been over a week since the release of Pokemon Go game and we all know it kind of took over the World, especially now that Pokemon Go has beaten Pornography market !

If you are in Guwahati (or in Assam) you might be having a hard time finding any Pokemons or Pokestops here. My friends in other cities and countries are lucky, there have loads of Pokestops, Gyms and Pokemons around them and they're having fun playing it.

First of all we need to know what Pokestops are and where they are added from on the real World map, so to find that out we take a look at the support article on Pokemon Go's website:

PokéStops are locations where you can gather items such as Poké Balls, Potions, and Eggs.
A PokéStop will change its shape when you walk close enough. Touch it to interact with it, and spin the Photo Disc to get items.

This doesn't answer why we don't find any Pokemons here, but it is pretty obvious that as there are probably Pokestops we are ought to not find any Pokemons as well.

LGBT Pride Parade In Guwahati

February 7th, 2016 was marked as memorable day for LGBT community and its supporters alike in the whole of north-east region as they gathered in Guwahati at Diglipukhuri Lake near the High Court. for the Queer Pride Parade of 2016 organized by an independent group known as XUKIA.

The LGBTQ+ community is a community of people which is mostly oppressed by the society and is seen as a taboo in many cultures, even though India, which has its roots connected to facts that involved people of that community in a positive way, for example Mahabharata, the great epic of India has referenced transgender as a part of the society, not only transgender but homosexuality is also a part of Indian mythology that people of India today deny to believe in because it "defames" their religion.

The Pride Parade is held yearly by an social-activist group known as XUKIA. The motive of the pride parade is to spread awareness among people that the penal code 377, which was actually imposed by the British during their rule, is like a cancer in the society against the LGBT+ community.

A Parade Worth Remembering

I have had followed up news about pride parades all over the World constantly since marriage equality rights were introduced in US last year, and this year I planned to visit the Pride parade in Guwahati to encourage the LGBT community of my city and learn more about their motive and what is their aim.

The Pride parade was as already mentioned organized by the open group XUKIA. The venue was the Dighulipukri Lake in Guwahati. Over a hundred people joined the parade, security was provided by the state police to diminish and chances of mishaps in the process, which is important looking at the sensitivity of the topic of the pride parade in our society.

Before the parade started, people gathered near the starting point of the parade i.e the Dighulipukhri park entrance, and did a little carpet walk program which was performed by the "Enlighten" group, glorious people walked among gathering.

After the short but amazing show by the group the group began its preparations to parade through the area, starting from the Dighulipukhri park and back en route BSNL office through Handique Girls College

A great enthusiasm was visible among the community and the supporters who despite of not actually belonging to the community joined the parade to stand for equal rights for them, which included me, on a personal note.

An Indian parade and no Bhangra? How could one even think of it, drums were rolling and legs were in controlled of the drummers! Bhangra all the way! With occasional slogans on the way, out of which the most prominent was "Konsa kanoon sabe battar? Teen sow Sattatarr Teen sow Sattatarr" which translates to "Which law is the worst? 377.", only in Hindi it rhymes, so it became the best slogan.

The pride lasted for more than 1 hour, I personally was in the parade supporting my friends and the whole community for the event that mattered to them and which is supposed to matter to everyone else who wish for a country where we all, regardless of our identity are accepted and treated equally.

About 377 And Its History

IPC 377 is a law prohibiting "against the order of nature", in which if a person is found guilty can be locked up in prison for 10 years!

377 was introduced early in the 1860 during British Rule, during the time of its introduction in India it was also introduced in other countries ruled by the British. If a person at that time was found to be guilty they would either end up in prison for life or would have to go through a medical treatment which eventually made the person ill despite of working the other way, but in 1967 the UK decriminalized homosexual acts in private (when both of the partners attained the age of 21).

India and Homosexuality, Religion and Society.

But India still has not yet disposed the law that goes against India's own ancient and (holy) text for many people, the Rig Veda, which itself states that "Anything that seems unnatural is still natural.".

The ancient India is seen to have no social problems with the LGBT community, the ancient text even depicted the mythological deities Shiva & Vishnu engaging in sexual acts, that being said is not to hurt the sentiments of any person who belongs to the religion who looks upon the God mentioned, but to state that the stories we all see and read, from childhood has a background which involves homosexual behavior, if anybody doesn't recall what I am talking about, it is the incarnation of Vishnu as Mohini, who was persuaded by Shiva for sexual desire.

Next in line is the duality nature of Shiva, the god of ultimate destruction, the God who is known as the God of Gods itself, (whom I personally admire) is one God who has been depicted in the mythological text to have a dual personality, he consists of both Male & Female properties, he binds it all together as one and is the God we know as. Though the topic of God is just a belief, what is being tried to imply here is that it is and was in our culture way before the British came and imposed the rules that criminalized homosexuality. Who is the one has both the properties of a male and female? A transgender, the people who are oppressed in the society and are not given equal rights all for their identity.

The question goes to all the people in India who is against LGBT - Why do you believe in a religion, who itself has encouraged and depicted homosexual and transgender in most, and not just most, but the majority of their ancient text and myths?

British left, and we continued to believe that homosexuality is a threat against our society, our children, how would you be able to make your children's life better when you wouldn't even let them discover the versatility of nature, the complexities of people in our society when you are against the simple fact that LGBT exists and the members of the community are not disease but people who is just different than what most people are, still, be it different, they are among us, they are the people who make us complete, who makes our India not great, but greatest!

It's time for the British laws to go away, it's never too late. If the religion of yours taught you to love and respect everyone equally then why are we looking down upon those with an identity which you can't understand, what would this World be if we divided just because we were different.

Leopard Intrudes NF Railway Maligaon Head Quarters in Guwahati

Leopard intrusions in the hilly area of Maligaon, Guwahati has become very common, due to it being near the forest hill area Leopards are easily able to get into the city which becomes a threat for themselves for than the humans.

In the morning of 18 December 2015 the news of a leopard breaking into the NF Railway Head Quarters spread like fire in a forest. The beast got into the HQ area at about 4 in the morning and attacked at least two security guards who were at their duty.

Later in the morning after the authorities learnt about a leopard breaking into the area, the area was completely sealed and no one from the outside were allowed. Forest department's people arrived with their equipment to make sure the leopard gets out without getting hurt or hurting anyone.

The leopard had occupied the canteen, the canteen was blocked from all sides so that it would not escape, after hours of struggle the forest department had finally manage to take down the beast at about 1pm and took it away.

Is Cyanogen Breaking Ties with YU Televentures?

The new popular brand in the smartphone market in India shook the whole market with their low priced but high in performance phones and with pre-installed CyanogenOS, that is YU Televentures.

YU has released four phones as yet, YUreka, YUphoria an YUreka Plus, YUnique all three came with CyanogenOS with guaranteed update and probably this is was main reason why many chose an YU phone over another stock android smartphone.

The phones were and are still sold online, exclusively on Amazon and YUnique is sold on Snapdeal. Recently the Yunique, YU's budget smartphone came available on stock android, no CyanogenOS at all.

And a few days later all the available smartphones of YU with CyanogenOS became unavailable and now comes with stock Android.

What Special in CyanogenOS?

Stock Android is good but CyanogenOS is a bliss. It comes with a lot of inbuilt security and customizability functions that you don't see in stock android, even the latest versions. CyanogenOS is maintained by an independent and open group of developers known as 'Cyanogen'.

CyanogenMods are ROMs that can be flashed on almost any phone, but CyanogenOS is built to function perfectly with a phone and that is why people loved the YU phones and so do I, as a I own an Yuphoria with CyanogenOS 12.

Wouldn't be Cyanogen available for us?

It is an open source project and anyone with any phone capable of running it can run! So really Cyanogen is no longer available with YU?

There has not been any official statements. The Wikipedia page says that YU holds the official rights of CyanogenOS in India and if it were to break the ties for any reason there would have been an official statement of some kind, but there are none.

We did a small research to make sure it wasn't true and what we find doesn't leave any hint of them breaking ties.

Plans for Chief Minister Special Award Scheme for Matriculation 2015 Students [Assam]

CMSAS, short for Chief Minister Special Award Scheme is an initiative started by the Assam state education board SEBA to award the Matriculation or HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) students who secured more than 50% marks in the examinations.

The awards for CMSAS were presented in January 2015 for the students who passed the 2014 Matriculation Exams, and the eligible students were award an Android Tablets, total 46,300 units were awarded as per the official source.

The news from the official source confirms the award for Chief Minister Special Award Scheme will be presented for the 2015 Matriculation students who secure above 50% parks from the SEBA board.

This year the estimate number of tablets has increase from 46,300 (2014) to 54,400!
An estimate of fifty four thousand and four hundred students this year will be rewarded the tablets as per CMSAS.

Congrats to every student who has secured above 50% marks and are eligible for the award, we hope you a bright future.

Other Initiatives and News

The Assam state education board has two initiatives to encourage the students to involve themselves in the technological field and thus awards them with Desktop/Laptops/Tablets.

ARBAS (Anundoram Boroah Award Scheme) is also an initiative by the Assam state education board which awards the students who secure 1st Division in the Matriculation exams and are presented Laptops. (before Desktops were presented and with an option for cheque of equal amount)

CMSAS is for students who secure over 50% marks but less than 1st Division.

Explaining the "Mystery Code"

Currently the population of the Internet in India and also the media is talking about the "script injection" discovery that Thejesh GN (@thej) made, who claims to be a programmer.

Our country's Telecorps like Airtel, Vodafone, Aircel to name a few have been always a victim of allegations regarding their service and their quality.

About the Script Injection

The same thing happened a few days back when the aforementioned coder claimed to make a break-through discovery of a malicious and mysterious script that was being inserted in every website he visited.

The only proof and reproduction of the script injection was demonstrated with this screenshot of the source code of "thej.in" where a JavaScript code (the de facto scripting language of the web) was added in the website's source.

This is the complete HTML markup that the coder wanted to show was this:

Apart from that there were no explanations or any other research which proved how the injected script got there and most importantly what it did!

I checked the host IP address on a IP tracer and it looks like it is being hosted in Bangalore, India and the ISP is Airtel. That is what I think led the coder assume that Airtel played with the privacy with this mere JavaScript code.

The Coder Got A Notice from FlashNetwork

The main thing that actually sparked the news was the discoverer getting a noticed for explicitly posting the code on his Github Repository. The Israeli company Flashnetwork consequently filed a DMCA complaint and also sent a notice to him for the takedown of the code and it was taken down.

I when read the news on a blog too thought this might be something very serious if a professional/qualified programmer have made the discovery and warned people about this and searched for the code that was the center of the topic.

As being a professional web developer I analyzed the code and found that this is nothing but a mere script that provides smooth scrolling effect on websites. And it was nothing like what the person was successful in making people believe it was.

I can't start to wonder what led Thejesh assume that the code was something injected suspiciously by Airtel to exploit their privacy. But whatever it was, it was not right and not true either.

Taking Sides?

Sorry, not. There is nothing like taking the side of the Telecorps to protect them. Through my research this is what I found. This case is a case of ignorance on the part of the coder who spread this and the people who believed this without researching much.

On the side note I have been on Airtel's network and honestly that IP address or no similar script nor any script was ever injected into the sites. Though it is to note that ISPs do insert small snippets of codes, for example the mobile Facebook site where they insert their home page's link but that's all. Anything unethical is wrong, and should be acted against.

There has been a large number of arguments and debates between LGBT supporters and the anti-LGBT people, just like any other social topic this one is opposed and supported by all kinds of people in every community.

Whereas it was a debate or an argument, there are two sides of the story, one from the perspective of the people who belonged to LGBT and the people who supported LGBT regardless of being one themselves and the other by people who opposed it.

The larger percentage of population in most or almost every country opposes LGBT rights, why because the larger percentage doesn't belong to it, or who knows what but that's what those people want the World to think about them.

Take a moment to think

If you are an anti-LGBT person take a moment to think, and that's how most of the problems are solved. How you see the World is the first step to change the World for yourself and people around you.

Every human on Earth has the right to love whoever they like and are attracted to, they live for people they live then why do anybody must have any sort of problems with a person loving another of the same sex?

The Lack of Education Causes It

Believe it or not, lack of education is something that causes ignorance towards any issue, I might agree there are people with qualifications that is enough for them to be referred as well educated and still they oppose Gay marriages and the rights of LGBTs - But education here we are talking about is the education of your mind, of yourself.

Then there are people who are not even aware of such things as LGBTs mostly because they live in a community or society where this has never came out as a topic, so suddenly someone coming out as a Homosexual or Bisexual can cause chaos and a wave of negativity towards that person which might result into a devastating experience for them.

Why Must You Even Hate ?

There's no reason for you to hate a person based on his sexuality. If we are in a World where a human is disregarded for having sexuality other than what the "general" population has.

It's all what your moral values are, why do you respect a person also defines why do you disrespect them. In this age we talk about equality, everyone does, but no, none of them actually wants to be equal, they just want their space. You might be fighting for your space in one field or the other, everyone does, LGBT people do it for their space and we as fellow human beings should never discourage anybody, not just LGBTs, but anybody.

Ignorance about the Topic

In most backward countries and even in some first World countries people posses a mentality that Homosexuality, Bisexuality etc. are a kind of disease.

Nope, it's a thing that nature did, no human could control that, no body. Could a person control his hunger? No, they can't, because it's how nature made them. Dishonoring anybody for this is not right, both socially and morally.

Be Neutral, that's all you have to do

Before Martin Luther King Jr. fought for equality of African-Americans people were then against them because people thought it disgraced them for accepting black people in their country to be equally treated. Majority of people in that age thought they were right, but how many of you do really agree to that ?

There were people who didn't agree to it even then and those were the visionaries. You don't need to be a supporter and participate in Gay Parades to really have no problem with LGBT, you can do that by showing it in your action and words. Being neutral about it is all you need to do. That's what I do.

News Channels Airing Biased News of "6 Man Beating a Woman"

Well I know the women in India are not treated equally and reason wise the Govt. has taken extra measures for Women, whereas it is a great step towards the welfare of women, but there exists a large number of women who abuses this advantage.

Recently Zee News and ~~Star News (ABP News)~~ India News aired a news where they showed an partially blurred censored video where they claim a man was beating a woman and they condemned the act that a man treated a women shamelessly and beat her in public.

I watched the video, and the story is that the woman was the one who was using swear words for the man and when the man told him that it is not professional way to talk but she didn't stop and he took his phone out to take a video of her abusing him, as soon as he took out his mobile the women aggressively attacked the man in order to snatch his phone, and physically harmed him and thus sudden and natural reaction came from the man, he too hit her, which is natural as if anybody is
attacked like that, no matter if by a man or a woman, the two men standing aside soon stopped the fight and took them apart but later they were also blamed of beating the women in group which is completely false and the headline by the aforesaid News channels is "6 Man In A Cabin and One Woman Beaten Up".

I may ask one question, is this the way our News channels present a news ? Really a serious issue and should be raised up and as a responsible citizen it is important for me to make responsible news channels know about this.

This is a case of 2014 in the month of November, but now when the Woman was fired from her position from the council she used to work in she has come up with this video with those biased media channels who are without any proof supporting her blindly and hurting the man's reputation, whereas the woman's face was blurred up, the man's face was shown without any censor which totally might have ruined up his reputation.

I want you to take a look at the video they aired and see for yourself what actually happened and how that woman used the advantages unethically.

I believe a news channel should support truth and not a specific gender.
