Whew! What a busy, yet wonderful weekend it has been! On Saturday I was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate my 30th birthday with my family and friends, and today we spent Father's Day with my parents and my grandparents. This weekend couldn't have been any better in terms of weather, or the company that I was able to celebrate with!

I hope that all the Dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day. Here is a preview for Baby Isobel's Daddy...celebrating his very first Father's Day today. I hope it was a memorable one!

Today I had the priviledge of meeting Baby Isobel and her mom Sarah. At just 9 weeks-old, Miss Isobel already has a personality and knows what she wants (and what she doesn't want!). Although she made us work for it, we got some great shots and at the end she finally caved and fell asleep for a bit. Thank you again Sarah, to you and your family, for allowing me to capture your new baby girl, and for being so accomodating and working so hard throughout the session! Just a few previews for now...

This one totally cracks me up! Look at that expression accompanied by the fist...perhaps she had had enough of me by that point :)

I had the priviledge of meeting, and photographing such a fun and beautiful family this morning at the Arboretum. Sidney is a photographer herself, and I must admit, when I found this out, I became a bit nervous! (Her work is great! However, the nerves soon faded as this family was so laid-back and up for anything, so thank you Lumsden Family for putting me at ease and spending your Sunday morning with me! I hope you enjoy your previews - just a few for now...

Today my baby girl turned ONE! Although it is an exciting milestone, as her mommy, it's a bit sad to leave behind the baby stage. Reagan has definitely developed her own personality, and has suddenly sprung quite a bit of independence! We did a pre-birthday cake smash session yesterday, and she seemed to enjoy herself...and the cake! Here are some of my favourites!

Meet Baby Addison - 7 days new! This little girl sent me home with a bag of dirty laundry, but it was well worth it -- she is so adorable and squishy! She was really trying to fight the sleep, but with the efforts of her mommy, we were able to get some sleepy shots, though she made it very clear that she was the most comfortable in her mommy's arms. Here are a some previews for her parents. Thanks so much Andrea & Cam for welcoming me (and my heap of equipment & props!) into your home. Congrats again!

I had the pleasure of photographing Miss Abby this morning! In celebration of her upcoming first birthday, we did a cake smash session! Abby was pretty tame with the "smashing" portion of the session, but did enjoy snacking on the cake and icing! Here are a few sneak peeks...there will be more to come of this session soon! Think Spring! Although it still looks like winter outside due to the nasty trick that Mother Nature pulled this past week, Spring IS just around the corner! I have a few different outdoor locations in mind that I am eager to try out, but I have just been waiting for the milder temperatures and for some lovely greenery to appear to create a natural and beautiful backdrop! I have also waiting for the right opportunity...I need some “models” that would be willing to accompany me to one of my location choices and allow me to photograph them. This is where the fun part comes in! I am putting out a casting call in the form of a contest/giveaway. If what I have mentioned above is of interest to you, then enter to win!

Up for grabs is one free portrait session at an outdoor location of my choice. In addition to the free session, the winner will also receive a complimentary 8x10, and 3 5x7s...a value of $100! Session can accomodate child, family, couples or maternity portraiture.

There are 3 ways to enter. You can complete one, two or all three steps for your chance to win:

So much for Spring! I definitely wasn't expecting to see all of this snow when I woke up this morning, and it just keeps on coming down! Fingers crossed it melts quickly and doesn't return until next winter!

Today is officially the first day of spring! I have been enjoying the milder temperatures and the sunny weather that we have been having this past week. Although my garden isn't blooming quite yet, my orchids are brightening up my living room, and have been blooming all winter long. Here is a picture of a single bloom, edited with a bit of texture to it. Although I love my orchids, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my tulips and daffodils in my front garden...shouldn't be too much longer now!
