Brand new Brand New! "Fork and Knife" is the name given to the very latest release by Long Island boys Brand New. For those of you who acquired the leaked Demos from before The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me was released you will know the song. Up until now it has been know to you as Untitled #7, or the Piano Song.

Produced by the brilliance of Mike Sapone an extended member and close friend of the band, this singles' amazing sound and recording begs your stereo to play it over and over. Brand New and pianos should go together like peas and carrots, so i've included an old track called "Am I Wrong" it is a cover of Love Spit Love and seriously one of my favourite BN songs.

Twin Lens Adventures

These pictures were taken on an old TLR camera very similar to the Seagull 4B. It probably is an original one which was made in Shanghai, i just can't read the writing, cos its in Chinese! This is one of my favourite cameras at the moment, it had been sitting on my shelf looking quite restless for over a year before i thought to actually put some film in it to see if it still functioned.

I used Ilford HP5 plus 400 ISO Black and White 120mm film. I borrowed a friends light meter and went on a twin lens adventure. I was really happy with the results, and to see the clarity of medium format film over 35mm.

The camera has a light leak but it gives my photos a lot more character. I can't wait to shoot some colour film during my travels to Indonesia in November.

Junk Store Camera

This being the first post on Deja Nintendo, i shall introduce you to one of my most treasured possessions; my Ansco SHUR SHOT Box Camera.

I have a modest collection of box cameras and other vintage makes, TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) and some Instamatic's.

I am yet to purchase film for this camera and process it myself, but when i do i will surely post the results for your viewing pleasure.

If you have a box camera and you need some film where can you get it?

Well, most Kodak Box Brownie's and other box cameras use 120 or 620 film. 120 is made by Fujifilm, Agfa, Kodak, Ilford, Rollei etc.. but 620 is hard to come by these days. However 620 and 120 films are the same width, they just have different size spools. So 120 film can be unrolled and rewound onto a 620 spool! INGENIOUS

You could check out eBay to find a bargain, but your best bet if you want someone to professionally develop your film is to find a local photographic specialist that has medium format films in stock and the ability to develop them.
