President House , otherwise known as Rashtrapati Bhawan, was built under British Rule or the Raj as it was then named. It was built to house the Viceroy of India and His Entourage so the Ruling Elite could Run India in Style. Now it is a place where locals and Tourists alike can revel in its splendor rather than it just being a symbol of colonial rule. It was originally designed by the Architect Lutyens and boasts over 340 well furnished and thought out rooms. It also has a beautiful courtyard which makes it similar to Mughal Architecture in other parts of India too. Durbar Hall is the main great room for all official and important functions of State so to this day the Building is being used to for Governance and is a must see.

Parliament House(Sansad Bhawan)

It was originally named The Circular House because of its shape and was designed by Herbert Baker. It officially opened in 1927 and has been in use ever since. Pillars that stand erect like sentinels make this building unique with a new age edge to it and it is quite hidden away on Parliament Street, unlike other important buildings that stand in Delhi today. Once you come near to Sansad Bhavan you will taste its grandeur that came into being during the reforms period of 1919/1927. There are many sights and sounds of Delhi that are unforgettable to the Onlooker and these three places of interest should also captivate The Traveler's interest.

Suraj Kund

It is situated only around 20 km from Delhi and is the back drop of country living. The stark contrast to the noisy and vibrant city, this place will fill you with fond delights of Rural India. There is a famous craft fair that takes place every February in this Village which is a great time to do some shopping. You will see a quarry and locals attending to their livestock and grazing animals all around. It is quite a nice place to take a day trip or even to stay in over night.

Lodhi Garden

It is a place for all the modern day Lovers to meet and take a stroll. It was built in the the Sayyid and Lodi Dynasties and was created as a place for burial and remembrance in the 15th and Sixteenth centuries. Under British Rule it was taken over by Lady Willingdon Park but after Indian Independence it was redesigned for public use and has been admired by many visitors since then, both foreign and domestic as a place of splendor. You will encounter a number of tombs on site which are fascinating to visit.

Buddha Jayanti Park

It was created in a fan fair of celebration marking the 2500th anniversary of Lord Buddha and is a place of enjoyment and pilgrimage with a spiritual twist. The special point about this park is that it has planted within it a sapling brought from Sri-Lanka which is said to be from the Bodhi tree that Lord Buddha Meditated under and so is revered by Buddhists from all over the World as a religious site. Many have a warm sentiment for this holy place with such a natural feel to it. Many Buddhism classes are held here and although children are welcome, pets are not allowed to roam around as they might damage the parks and for other obvious reasons.

Delhi Old Fort
