Our latest app is a game for the whole family. You have to find the matching soundclips on the button grid. It is playable with up to 4 players and comes with 4 grid sizes and 6 different soundsets: animals, sound effects, household sounds, birds, commands & human sounds. Simple, fun & challenging.

And yes, you can actually play the games and even improve your skills…

Gameplay

A side by side puzzle swapper. App Store link (0,79 €)

As an employee of the Asynch Corp. you need to create packets and send them of. A packet is at minimun 4 connected blocs of one colour. You create them by swapping blocs from the left side with blocs from the right side. Fun, fun music and a fun corporation theme wrapped around it. Addictive!

Water's turn - a cold card

Simple two player card game with a mix of strategy & luck. App Store link (1,59 €)

The players (orange = earth & green = water) fill the board with three types of cards: normal, fire & ice. Play against your friend or the computer. Satisfying and not frustrating if you lose, because you know there is luck involved. Great pixel art and cool 8bit soundtrack.

Horror Vacui 2 is also out. It is an isometric version of the same game. Looks cool, but i like version one better, because it simple and thus less confusing.

Snake chain bits

A crossbreed of Pong and rhythm games. App Store link (1,59 €)

You control the paddle on the left hand side of the screen up and down by either tilt or touch control. In the game there are 3 levels which are actually electronic songs. According to the music the bits are approaching from the right side. As you hit them with the paddle they make a sound that becomes party of the music. It starts simple but soon the bits approach faster and in irritating ways and complex formations. You’ll have to play the levels over and over again and learn it to beat the boss at the end of a level.

Level 2 and 3 start with complex patterns, so you better learn the first level before you progress. Three more levels are available as an in app purchase. There is also a HD version for the iPad – but I see no real difference and would recommend saving the money and play the iPhone version on the iPad instead. I don’t understand, why they didn’t make it a universal app.

This game is unique, highly addictive, fun and highly recommended!

A medium sized map

Conquer all countries for world domination. App Store link (0,79 €)

This is a strategery game with simple rules and great depth. The dots in the countries represent armies. If you attack a neighbour country all involved armies roll a dice. If you win, your armies move to the attacked country. This is how you expand your empire. At the end of your turn you get new armies for each country in your largest unbroken cluster. There are 4 different sizes for the radom generated maps and several set up options concerning the amount of players, the strenght of the AI oponents, the initial map set up and the way the bonus armies are placed. It works fine on the iPhone but even better on the iPad, especially if you play the “epic” maps. You can play multiplayer games on one device and online.

I’ve been playing this game over and over again. It’s slick and fast and has a nice minimal but very functional design. Compared to others board games I’ve seen such as Neurishima Hex, Catan and Carcassonne this game is the winner!

Hello again!

This is the first post on our blog since almost half a year. Since the release of eBoy FixPix we were were busy working on doing promotion and support for the app and working on updates & iOS4 bugfixing. We had lots of other things on our table other than reviewing apps and we also started a few new app projects. Read about the release and the update after the break!

eBoy FixPix – release notes:

The release of FixPix was a huge success for us. Our electronic puzzle game was featured on websites such as Creative Applications, Engadget, Mashable, Gizmodo, Fast Company, Today And Tomorrow, The Awesomer, Touch Arcade, IGN UK & The Appera. On the first day FixPix reached #5 of the US paid apps charts. It was featured as “New & Noteworthy” and “What’s hot” in several countries worldwide including US, Canada, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden & Japan. In Japan we were even featured as both “iPhone App of the week” and after the release of FixPix 2.0 as “iPad app of the week”.

The people seem to love it! Worlwide we got more than 500 reviews in the AppStore. In the US AppStore it was rated over 1100 times with an average rating of 4 of 5 stars.

Version 2.0:

FixPix 2.0 got a new icon, 50 new levels (now 150 in total) and is universal now, which means that it fully supports the iPhone and the iPad. It was a lot of work: all levels had to be expanded from 320 x 480 to 384 x 512 pixels to fill the whole of the iPad screens and scaling the images 200% up in Open GL with crisp and sharp pixels while keeping the fluid performance of the tilt-effect took a full month of development time. We love the result: the game works perfectly on the iPad and eBoy’s pixel art looks terrific filling the whole screen. In case you haven’t updated it yet, do it now! It’s free!
