The Hole is a please to announce the first comprehensive gallery exhibition in the United States by British artist Matthew Stone. The exhibition will focus on the intersections between the ideas, photography and sculptures that define Matthew's work. Alongside his sculptural instillations of photography, he will also be presenting a performance at the gallery titled "Anatmony of Immaterial Worlds" (November 3rd at 9pm) as part of the visual art performance biennial PERFORMA 11.

The title of the exhibition "Optimism as Cultural Rebellion" should be considered a one-line manifesto, perhaps a "mini-festo". Since 2004 Matthew has developed a personal philosophy of Optimism, defining it as "the vital force that entangles itself with and then shapes the future." This timely position permeates all of his activities. Matthew Stone operates as an artist in a total sense: his very being, his community, his lifestyle and its expression dictate the creation of his interconnected works. As well as creating photography and sculpture he works in multiple worlds as curator, philosopher, performer, musician, facilitator and cultural provocateur.

Long brim hats are an amazing look. Originating from from the early 1870's designed by an Australian hat maker Benjamin Dunkerley. Receiving the name "Akruba" in 1912 by Dunkerley daughter after his death. That hat can be amazingly worn with a button up shirt; I'd button completely to the neck. Or a bit more casual with a plain T-Shirt and a slack. The hats are versatile and made for men and women. Similar to the Korean "Gat," the Jewish "Fedora," and the Western "Cow Boy Hat."

Adidas track suits are becoming one of the most hip, casual, cool pieces in the American closet. With cool new styles by a group of designers joining the Adidas brand creating new colors, styles, and cuts to the classic track suit; Such as Jeremy Scoot, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yohji Yamamoto. Not my style exactly, but the plethora of colors and prints could spice up any wardrobe, causal or business. This picture was taken in Central Park Oct, 20th by Demetrius Mickens.

Reddress by Aamu Song

In honor of the London Design Festival at York Hall, designer Aamu Song has designed an enormous red dress that acts as the talents platform and spectators seating area. The red dress was created using 550 meters of fabric. The dress lays 20 meters in diameter and stand 3 meters high. Each performer climbs a concealed stair case that leads them to the body. The show ran September 22 - 25 with performances by Finnish Musicians. The dress holds about 238 pockets to create a comfortable blanketed space for each audience member. Hopefully to much comfort doesn't put the audience to sleep.

Winter Essentials...

1. A great winter coat or a fur. Not really having a winter in Florida made me realize there are so many great options for winter coats. While most people go for a classic shearling; As well there are parkas, quilted jackets, capes, ponchos, and trenches all made in numerous fabrications that creates more comfort and shields you from the cold.

2. Gloves. Gloves protect your hands from the cold while adding a special touch to your outfit. Gloves can be fun to play with do to the different shapes, colors, and fabrications. Gloves also come in different lengths. Wearing a quarter length sleeve wool jacket with a long leather glove will definitely make you stand out in a crowd.

3. Ear Muff. These ear muffs are my favorite. They're simple and chic matching any outfit you have in mind, and they only cost about five dollars. Ear Muff are very helpful during winter. Also with a wide variety of styles and colors ear muffs can play a huge role in your wardrobe.

4. Boots. WATER PROOF!!!! A water resistant boot is a very important thing during the winter. While most of the sidewalks and streets are covered with wet snow, a boot with traction is key. We'd rather not have wet socks in a boot slipping on the concrete.

5. Scarves. For hundreds of years people have worn scarves for different reason and ways; Hats, wraps, neck ornaments and more. The personalization of scarves are fun interesting pieces that you can shape and style which ever way you want. With a number of fabrications, sizes, colors and patterns a scarf can be one of the most difficult or easy things to pair with an outfit. Worn on your arms, legs, neck, or even your wrist. Keep in mind a scarf can not be worn with everything.

Alexander McQueen was an extravagant designer as any fashion followers would know. His works have been shown over the 20th and the 21st century. Learning to sew at age 16, McQueen became an apprentice with Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard, before joining Gieves & Hawkes and, later, the theatrical costumiers Angels and Bermans. The skills he acquired working at Savile Row gave him a reputation in the fashion world as a man to create an "impeccably tailored look." McQueen grew as an amazing designer with such clients as Mikhail Gorbachev and Prince Charles. McQueen's early runway collections developed his reputation for controversy earning the title "l'enfant terrible" and "the hooligan of English fashion."In 1996 McQueen was one of the youngest ever to earn the title, "British Designer of the Year." Soon after fashion house LVMH gave McQueen a position designing for Givenchy, McQueen stayed with Givenchy until March 2001, when the contract he said was "constraining his creativity" ended. Successfully by the end of 2007, Alexander McQueen had boutiques in London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Las Vegas. Celebrity patrons, including Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rihanna, J-Pop Queens such as Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, and Koda Kumi have frequently been spotted wearing Alexander McQueen clothing to events. With a winning streak like this his talent and creativeness, any fashion designer will be honored to hold the titles and respect Alexander McQueen held. February 11, 2010 McQueen's career came to a tragic ending. McQueen was found dead that morning by his house keeper, hanging. Creating a shocking controversy on the world of fashion, people could only wonder what would lead someone of such success to a deathly ending. A modern day Richard Cory.

Battle of the Red Sole

As late and annoying as this can be the battle continues. Christian Louboutin a design of extravagant woman's shoes for many years has place a suit against YSL use of the red sole. YSL has outstandingly used a colored sole for a number of years to portray a chic and inviting look to a heel. Due to the growing popularity and demand for a Christian Louboutin red soled heel; Christian Louboutin believes he should be able to trademark "a color in the fashion industry."( If that is not a joke.) The court has denied Christian Louboutin's appeal but he is at it again and will be back in court this today Friday August 19, 2011.

Spring fashion coming to a close. I go out to the city with an exciting cool look. Not to bore you guys but my barber ruined my hair so im stuck wearing a turban for the month. Took a close up of this amazing Bolo bow tie I purchased from Balenciaga. Turban made using a zara scarf. TopMan pleated plaid short.

Menswear Fall 2011

January 2011 Mens fashion week hosted in paris brought many interesting looks. Double breasted blazers, tweed, and a forties detective look filled the stage. Not to many color options with menswear this Fall 2011; Color pallets with black and grey with a hint of paprika swept the runways. Loose fitting trousers and long coats, story of the jewish rabbi. Lanvin (Picture Above) uses the doubled breasted coat with a non traditional silhouette, asymmetrical sweaters, and a chic fadora. "The tension arose from the face-off between the classicism of the Old World and the urgency of the New." Tim Blanks stated on Style.com.

Spring 2011 RTW has struck a fun and interesting close. Prada, Jil Sander's and Maison Martin Margiela brought simple silhouettes, structure and print; Lets not forget the boy like, girls. The fashion industry has been hit by an androgynous lap of men and women. A cultivating transgender becomes the face of Givenchy. Making things a bit more multifaceted with woman wearing mens clothing shaped to the beautiful silhouettes of the womans body. Men with faces so beautiful and women taking masculinity, we no longer know who should be brought on set.
