Tiger Woods’ Caddie claims he did not know.

“It would be very difficult for the caddie not to know, but I’m 100% telling you, I did not know, and that’s that,” he said. “I’m a straight-up sort of person. If I had known something was going on, the whistle would have been blown. He knows that.”

I don’t know, man. I want to believe him, but it’s a bit far fetched.
In my opinion, not only did this dude know, but he was right there, giving him advise on which condom and what positions to use.

Fidel Castro Is Back in Charge…

After his convalescence, the ailing dictator reimposed his authority—quashing hopes of internal reform and détente with the United States.

When Raúl Castro became president of Cuba in 2006, he raised hopes, at home and abroad, that he would usher in a new era of reform. His brother, El Comandante Fidel, was struck with some sort of intestinal illness and rendered incapable of governing. So in stepped Raúl with promises to undertake “structural” change in the country. He distributed parcels of idle land to farmers. He encouraged young people, many of whom feel restive about their country’s system, to “fearlessly debate” the country’s problems. He decreed that Cubans could finally buy cell phones and computers, and could stay at tourist hotels that had previously been off-limits to them. When it came to relations with the United States, he said last April, “We are prepared to discuss everything—human rights, freedom of the press, political prisoners—everything, everything, everything.”

So, it looks like the threat of democracy, not laughter, is the best medicine… I actually missed Fidel. He’s a wild guy… Keeps things interesting.

Anyway, is it just me or does Eminem’s “Without Me” seem like it’d be the perfect exit music for his return to power speech?

Zombieland - 4 Stars

So, I finally watched this lovely little film. My thoughts in one word:

Holy-fuck-Woody-Harrelson-is-the-fucking-man.

Now, I realize that my rating may be a bit biased since I’m a zombie film freak. I love them. Can’t get enough of then, but biases aside, this movie fucking rocks.

It lost one star due to the fact that the main character, Columbus, seemed to have been making a Michael Cera impression throughout the film. Although it was a pretty damn good Cera impression, I kept asking why? Cera, while awesome, plays the same character in every movie he makes. We get enough of him as it is. We don’t need other people being type casted as him. That just seemed too weird for me. I half expected to see Seth Rogen or Jonah Hill at every turn.

Anyway, other than that, it was pure cinematic gold. Harrelson, as mentioned before, kicked ass, both figuratively and literally. There was also great Bill Murray Cameo. I love Bill Murray.

The other thing I loved is that there was no gratuitous killing of main characters. I absolutely hate it when writers feel like they have to kill the the hero or his mentor or whoever else they’ve spent 2 hours trying to make you like. It’s bullshit. I hate it… But then again, I guess we can just blame that on that asshole Shakespeare. Fuck him and his tragedies.

All in all, this movie was a fast paced, funny, action packed and very well written little gem. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

These are my thoughts. Feel free to disagree, but you’ll probably be wrong.

No sport variation is closer to my heart than men’s ice hockey at the Olympics- and no match up gets me as riled up as when we play the Russians. At this point it’s not just a sport, it’s fucking politics. We went to watch it at an authentic spot this afternoon, surrounding by men that were essentially variations of my father at different stages of his life. I felt like I was at home-surrounded by twenty of my dads-and this little guy. This is how Conall describes the photo:

Very succinct. It felt so good to see that the venue was respecting the morals and values of the old country, where my uncle could give me 100kc and send me over to the local pub to bring back a bunch of beer at the age of, oh, umm, maybe seven. When my mom sent me to the lobby of a hotel we were staying at in Miami once to buy her a lighter maybe a few years later that was “not allowed.” I could not sit at the poolside ‘bar’ (fucking tahiti hut) with my parents either and drink my virgin pina colada because, I don’t know, I would see adults drinking and would undoubtedly think they are uber cool and embark on a preteen cocktail drinking rage that would land me in rehab by the time I turn fifteen.

HA! I love how you can extrapolate such an awesome narrative from this picture and a hockey match. Are you writer, perchance?

Anyway, I described the same afternoon to a friend and it went a bit like this:

“It was pretty cool; I had duck… Russia won, by the way.”

You can only smell 1/20th as well as a dog.
