If you have been in business you know that it’s important to have well-running systems to keep things running smoothly.

The following 6 systems are the systems that I find that most entrepreneurs either don’t have or they are broken. When you are a small business it’s important to trust your systems and use them well. When we do everything manually we work harder, not smarter. These are the 6 systems that most every business needs to grow:

1. Marketing System – This is a clear plan to get the word out about your business in front of your ideal customers. This is a very well-oiled machine that is always working 24/7.
2. Sales System – This is a very clear way that people buy from you. This helps people convert into loyal buyers who love your product and services. This is a must or you are building a hobby!
3. Consultation System – If you are a service business this is a must. A very clear way you give a consultation, otherwise it’s just a nice conversation.
4. Onboarding System – If you are a service business this system is often overlooked and undervalued, but it’s a big part of your brand and the customer’s experience.
5. Billing System – Don’t chase money. Period. This system is a clear way you get paid and stop chasing money.
6. Receipt/budget/accounting System – This is how you manage your money on the inside. This is a clear way you manage it all so you are always empowered around your numbers.

Work smarter, not harder with a few good systems.

Part of leading and living from your greatness is to work smart, so you can stay in your BRILLIANT LANE, instead of working in your weaknesses that cause more breakdowns. When we don’t have these 6 systems in place we often operate in breakdowns or exhaustion.

I have met so many business owners in the last year who don’t have these systems in place or they are struggling with staying on top of everything. I have two game-changing marketing tips that you can do today!

As you know I coach in the 8 Areas of Business and within those 8 areas most people struggle in Sales & Marketing the most. That is why I host a few marketing and sales classes per year. In that class, we talk about how important your Landing Language is. Today I want to give you two tips when it comes to Landing Language.

These can change everything about your marketing and how much revenue you can make! I want you to do well so you can do good!

“Learn how to language your products/services such
that your ideal customer says, “I need that!”

#1. Talk about the solution, not your item: What I have seen is that small business owners often talk about the service or product they have, instead of talking about the solution. The BIG point here is people BUY solutions and if they can’t hear that in your marketing they glaze right over it.

• Example 1: (selling the service I have) “I offer coaching and consulting services for entrepreneurs”
• Example 2: (selling the solution I offer) “I work with entrepreneurs to create a marketing and sales plan so they can market themselves confidently, grow their revenue and make a bigger difference.”
• Ask yourself: what problems do I solve with my service/product? (i.e. I solve their employee drama/breakdowns/moral, I solve their marketing and sales breakdowns, I solve their accounting issues, I solve their babysitting issues,  I solve their wardrobe issues, I solve their weightloss struggles, I solve bad travel experiences). Once you have those answers you can play with the language to create a better, more effective commercial and marketing materials.

#2. Talk in a way they get: What I have found is that people talk about their business in the same way that they talk, instead of talking in the language of their target market. Sometimes we get too complicated, too jargon, too simple, too crazy, too corporate and too vague for people to ‘get’ what we do. Ask yourself: how does my target market speak about this problem? Now, use THAT language in your marketing language.  How do THEY language this problem/this desire?

Both of these tips are part of my ‘landing language’ element of my class and why landing language is SO important is that you can have the best product or service in the world but if you don’t know the solution it is and how to language it in a way that your target market can hear, then you probably don’t have the sales/revenue that you want. I encourage you to play big this year and really own the solution you offer.

Also, if you aren’t using an editorial calendar to manage your content that is a HUGE time saver.  I’ve introduced this little golden nugget to many of my coaching clients and they love it! You create a theme for each month and that is the theme you use to write your content for that month (blog, videos, podcast, social media etc). Here’s an important tip: make sure your themes are ON purpose and ON brand to your company. That way all of your content on your different platforms has a theme for that month where you can tell stories, tips, tricks, and useful information to your audience and you aren’t ‘all over the place’ with your content.

See, we were all born with a smallness voice and a greatness voice, but we forget that we have the power to choose which ONE to listen to. At any moment in any situation, we can choose to listen to our greatness voice. For most of us that greatness voice has been drowned out by all the years of the smallness voice yelling at us. We forget that we even have a greatness voice. But you do. It takes time and practice to hear it again, but it’s there.

We can get triggered in many “smallness attacks” a day, that’s when the smallness voice “triggers us” by saying something demeaning or dis-empowering and WE believe it. You know those moments when it whispers, “you can’t do that” or “no way will you get that big client”. What if you REtrained your mindset to turn down the smallness voice and only listened to your greatness voice? You are powerful beyond measure and you were born with gifts and greatness, however we were also born into a society that loves to tell us that we aren’t enough and how our bodies, our dreams, our finances, our homes, our love, our beauty, and our intelligence need to be fixed (thank you to the advertising industry). So our inner smallness voice gets loads of validation every time we see a commercial or a magazine.

Whenever you have a smallness attack you will instantly get disempowered and feel deflated. Then you just want to go eat a cheeseburger or take a nap. Well, if that happens a few times a week, or a few times a day then it will be extremely hard to pursue a passion, a purpose, a calling, a dream or a goal.  I want you to crush your smallness voice! You have the power to turn down your smallness voice and not listen to it. Every time you hear your smallness voice turn it down for the next 21 days. This will help you create a new habit of mastering your greatness mindset. Once you start living, loving and leading from your greatness your life will drastically change.

So, the challenge today is to come out of agreement with any smallness statements you have. (I’m not good enough, I’m the wrong color, I’m from the wrong family, I’m too broke, I’m too broken, I’m a bad leader, I’m too dumb, I’m unlovable etc). Whatever you believe is the direction your life goes, so identifying these smallness statements and coming out of agreement/unbelieving them will immediately shift the direction of your life.

As long as you believe your smallness statements they will limit your dreams, your life, your finances and your potential. Smallness wants you to stay small and fearful so it can control you. It’s like an abusive friend, it’s job is to beat you down so you stay small in your comfort zone. But now you have the choice to break up with it.  In the book I give you many tips to start living from your greatness and help you BREAK up with smallness.   Your smallness wants to keep you in your comfort zone (safe, small, scared), however I’ve never seen anyone achieve their big dreams from their comfort zone. It’s OK to be scared, so leave your comfort zone and listen to your greatness voice. The world needs you.

Your greatness is already in you, you just have to own it, ignite it and SHARE it!

That theme has served me very well this year and I have accomplished all three of them in various ways. I had to focus on many things this year, along with taking a few big risks, and it was the year I finished a couple of big projects that have been on my plate. I promised myself to focus only on what matters and nothing else. But it took a NEW level of self-discipline to keep the focus and that’s the hardest part. See I believe it’s not the big goals that scare us, but instead the focus, self-discipline and courage TO make that goal happen that scares us!

As entrepreneurs we are naturally drawn to fun, shiny objects, right? Squirrel!! We distract and derail our trains ALL the time. But with a newfound focus I promise you will move your train with velocity!  I know it takes crazy amounts of focus to move the train. What train? The train of your life/business. My business train is on a track and I am clear in my vision for my 1 year, 2, year and 3 year goals, and without that vision I would derail my train all the time because my choices wouldn’t be aligned to the vision.

When our choices are aligned with vision that’s where the magic is!

What I have found in my own business is that with every choice that make I get the train closer to my vision or I derail the train. So, if my choices are the thing that makes the train move then my focus needs to be on making choices from my greatness (empowered/positivity) verses my smallness (fear/doubt/negativity). This year I had to focus on 3 key choices of my business: people, profits, programs. I had to hire the right people to help me, I had to focus on hitting my sales goals every month, and I had to complete the curriculum of my programs. Boy did it take a ton of focus to finish!! This month is my 20th anniversary as a business owner and 17 years of being a business coach to world changers. When you are building a company/brand/app/life it takes focus, but it also takes self-care and lots of GRACE with yourself. If you don’t grow your self-care along with your company you can experience one of the 3 D’s: death, divorce or disease. Because untreated overwhelm quickly becomes burnout.

Challenge: Think about what do you have to focus on to get your train back on track or to further your train down the track toward your big vision?

​Monday you got clarity on your goals, Tuesday you crushed distraction, Wednesday you learned that smallness/fear stops us and how to overcome it to become triggerless, and yesterday you took your dream to a new level! Today we are talking about the most important piece of your life, career and dreams: YOU!

Step 1. Embrace and understand that you are the most important part of your dreams and success. Your mind, body and spirit is an essential part of success, just ask the people who have ‘had success’, but lost their health, marriage or sanity over it.

Step 2. Fall in love with taking care of yourself.  The act of taking care of yourself takes self-discipline and love, which most of us struggle with. The more you give yourself permission to have self-discipline and love towards yourself the more you win in building a healthy mind, body and spirit. Plus, if you have kids you are the role model in their lives and they watch how you treat yourself and will model the same behavior.

3. Success is scheduled. So are the things that help your mind, body and spirit win. I have to schedule workouts, I have to schedule church/bible studies, I have to schedule prayer/quiet time, I have to schedule play time, I have to schedule my massages and chiropractor weekly. Schedule the things that will help your mind, body and spirit be fulfilled and operate at its greatness. This is a game-changer when you are trying to achieve big dreams and goals. Schedule those things in your week and schedule AROUND THEM. Start today with one baby step that will improve your mind, body or spirit, because it will make a huge difference in your focus, commitment, clarity and motivation in your work and dreams!

Step 1. When we dream we often dream WITH our limits and smallness in mind. We edit what we really want and sometimes we downgrade our dreams because we don’t have enough ‘evidence’ to go for the BIG dream. We ‘hope’ for it but we often don’t believe we can get it. See, dreams and goals are only as good as our belief in them! We have to DREAM BIG and BELIEVE it! So dream from your GREATNESS and really allow yourself to dream big. First get grounded in your greatness and then take your current dreams/goals and upgrade them – make them juicier, greater, and bigger. BE your greatness and you’ll start living, dreaming and acting from that place!

​On Monday you got clarity on your goals and yesterday you crushed distraction. Today we are going to address the #1 thing standing in your way of big dreams and goals. 

1. We all battle with fear and doubt, but I want to teach you a simple way to overcome it so you become unstoppable and triggerless. This ONE lesson has helped (me and) my clients achieve their wildest dreams they thought were impossible. Now you can learn this lesson (the shortened version) and bring it to your dreams so that you stay in your greatness and achieve great things.

2.​ Smallness and Greatness are voices in our heads​ that we ALL have. For most of us through our childhood, our greatness voice becomes buried by the smallness voice. We hear our greatness voice every once and a while, but most the time it’s the smallness voice feeding us negativity around our dreams. The smallness voice is based in fear and is always against you – it wants to keep you small, scared and doubtful so it can control you. The Greatness voice is based in love and is always FOR you – it wants you to use your gifts, talents and uniqueness to shine in the world. But when we do have the courage to move towards our dreams that’s when smallness attacks and convinces us otherwise. We forget that there are two voices and we have to UNBURY that greatness voice. I promise you have one! The power comes from REMEMBERING that you are the one who CHOOSES which one to listen to.  At any moment, in any situation, you can turn up your greatness voice. We can often get on ‘default’ mode and don’t remember that we have the power to choose our greatness voice. It takes practice to LISTEN to your greatness voice only. It takes awareness and self-discipline to turn down our smallness voice when it attacks. Imagine smallness throwing you darts (triggers) a few times a day that disempower, derail, distract, demean you and your dreams. It whispers things like “you can’t do that”, “you are too ____ to accomplish that”, “you aren’t good enough to ____” or “who are YOU to do accomplish that dream” What if you trained yourself to turn down that voice and it NEVER triggered you AGAIN. Cool right? That is living life from your power and greatness! Every goal and dream you have becomes possible from that place.  So next time you hear something that deflates or disempowers you I want you to TURN IT DOWN then get back on track to making steps in your dream.

​3. It has taken me 10 years of working with greatness and smallness to be able to teach it and finish my book, Igniting Greatness. My big dream is to teach this very lesson/principle on Oprah’s #soulsunday to all girls, women, entrepreneurs and people who have dreams and goals. With this one lesson we become triggerless and stay in our greatness, and from that place ANYthing is possible! That’s my big dream – what is yours?
