G-Star Raw Fall/Winter 2010 Preview Sketches

Oooh, guess what I've got. The best kind of preview you can get before Fashion Week, a couple of sketches from G-Star Raw's Fall/Winter 2010 collection. The sketches highlight the brands trademark utilitarian aesthetic as well as the expert tailoring and craftsmanship we've all come to expect. The vibrant colors are a bit of a departure and something I'm looking forward to seeing during their Fashion Week presentation. Also, expect to see some metallic washes incorporated into the collection as well. I for one am interested in seeing their take on that.

Kristen Stewart in PRVCY Premium

I guess we can stop calling her Twilight actress and now call her Runaway star, since her new movie is getting so much good buzz. Kristen Stewart who's style is often laid back, was spotted in PRVCY Premium's 'London' skinny jean in Dark Paletto while hanging out with, here we go, Twilight stars, Nikki Reed and Taylor Lautner. Guess there's no getting away from it.

Naked & Famous Denim Spring 2010 Lookbook

I got my hands on the Spring 2010 Lookbook of Canadian brand, Naked & Famous Denim. I have to say I am quite impressed. The women's offerings aren't as extensive as the men's, but the less-restrictive take on a normally sexy silhouette such as the skinny jean is fun and fresh. The standout pieces, however, are definitely all in menswear.

Naked & Famous Denim likes to experiment with texture and blends. Many jeans in the men's range are made of cotton/silk blends and cotton/cashmere blends with scratched, brushed and raised surfaces. They also have fun with styles such as the 'Snowpant' denim that is a 100% cotton shell with a bonded fleece interior, rayon lining and zippers at the ankles. For those of us that are ready to jump on the denim-on-denim trend, they make the most excellent slim-fitting denim shirts that come in either a light-grey wash, dark indigo wash or pinstripes. Still not impressed, the selvedge denim, resin-coated ties are a new idea and a must see along with the denim tweed duffle bags.

All of their product is made in Canada and uses 100% Japanese denim. With product like this, Naked & Famous Denim is definitely a brand I will be keeping my eye on. Click below to see the entire collection.

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen Launch Denim Line

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are expanding their fashion empire by launching a new denim collection. The small collection goes by the odd name TEXTILE Elizabeth and James and features three 70's inspired styles. There's the 'Joni', a high-waisted cropped flair, the 'Stevie', a low-slung, button-fly and the 'Hendrix', a distressed bell-bottom. If you haven't figured it out yet, all the jeans are named after musical icons from the decade.

The collection launches in March at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Intermix and will retail for $106 to $111. That's a pretty steep price range for a collection that looks a little less than impressive in my opinion. There's hope, however. Come this fall, the Olsen's plan on expanding the line into a full lifestyle collection. Hopefully, the offerings will improve.

G-Star Raw Launches iPhone App for NY Fashion Week

G-Star Raw is the latest fashion brand, and probably the first denim brand, to launch an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app is called Raw City Guide New York and is geared toward art, design and fashion lovers who like to go to the trendiest hangouts. The app is littered with the hottest bars, restaurants, stores and art galleries and users are invited to upload their own favorite spots to keep the content fresh and updated. To kick things off, during NY Fashion Week, RAW Reporters, winners of G-Star's social media contest, will also be adding their favorite hangouts.

Dear John actress, Amanda Seyfried, went for a monochromatic look while out and about in Beverly Hills. While the entire ensemble looks nice, the only part that concerns us are the jeans, of course. 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord attended the Artists for Peace and Justice benefit in Los Angeles in support of the Haiti relief effort wearing a pair of Black Orchid jeans. McCord has been spotted many times in Black Orchid so it's probably safe to say they are one of her fave brands. This time she was photographed in a pair of the 'Black Rider' skinny jeans in Black Wax.

Rihanna in Anoname Jeans

We love seeing Rihanna in denim. She is one of the few celebs, in my opinion, that has a true eye for fashion without being gimmicky or over the top. While backstage at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, her denim brand of choice was growing celebrity favorite Anoname jeans.
