Surprise! An Election without a Hitch, Not even long Lines!

I was really looking forward to this elections. Excited but still a bit worried.

What if the PCOS Machine reject My Ballot?! What if My Ballot is rejected completely and I miss my chance to Vote?! These are just of the few questions that was running through my mind prior to this day.

But all of those questions were behind me now.

Contrary to the news reports everywhere, I was able to Vote without a Hitch! I mean really, not even Long Lines!

How?! Around 12NN I went to My precinct. There they were giving out numbers for voters, if your number is called out, you can now enter the classroom and cast your vote. No-Number No-Vote! Kudos to the Organizers here in our Village! Simple Yet effective measure in minimizing if not totally eradicating the need to line up for hours. Once you got your number, you can just go back after a few hours to cast your vote. If your number was called and you were not there, they will still allow you to vote! How Cool was that! :)

So I got number 465, the poll watchers said that the last number called was around 200 and my number will be called at around 3PM… I have 3 hours to spare! I went to the mall, paid bills, ate, shop.. It was around 2PM when I left the Mall, I arrived at the precinct at around 2:45 and what a perfect combination of luck and coincidence, they were calling our number 461!! OMG! It was my turn! :)

I am voter number 11 at Precinct 135S!

And then there was the voting… A relatively Small Armchair for a Huge Ballot! Anyway, After casting my votes, feeding my ballot to the PCOS machine, there was a moment of silence deep inside when the PCOS displayed “Validating Your Ballot” and after a few moments which seemed to be forever, the PCOS displayed “Congratulations, Your vote has been Cast” or something like that… Whew! What a relief. Indelible Ink Time… Which I can actually remove using the sweat on my forehead!

Of course it does not end there! We must watch the counting or consolidation of Votes!
I have done my part! Have you?! Be at your Polling Centers before 7PM!
Go ABS-CBN! I Love your Election Coverage!
BTW: Magkano nga ulit yung Ballot Secrecy Folder?! 100 pesos?! E yun lang yung Long folder sa National Bookstore na Worth 5Pesos Eh! :p Tsk.. Tsk..

Iron Man 2 @ Rockwell

Oracle’s Movie Night 2010. Iron Man 2!

Gumagalaw Sya… Di siya istatyu! Pero may ilaw sya sa Kamay at Chest.
While watching the Movie, I realized why they chose this movie for our movie night. Our company was a sponsor (i think) in the movie. Our CEO was actually in the movie as cameo role if you can say that. Our Logo was everywhere and the system used by tony stark was allegedly our system… Hahaha! :p
Anyway, It was a good movie but the fight scenes were a bit lame. They focused more on the story telling rather than the action. Still good, but the best part was the last scene, shown after the credits. I initially thought that there will be Iron Man 3. but Apparently I may be wrong.
SPOILER ALERT:
They flashed Thor’s Hammer! WHOA!
This may be true! Thor Movie will be Marvel’s next super hero movie offering in May 2011. There has been a leaked photo circulating around the net of the Actor (in costume) who will portray Thor – Chris Hemsworth. IMDB.com also has the Movie in their Database Already. Check it out HERE.

Like Tony Stark Said to Nick Fury – You Cannot Afford Me! But I can be a consultant. That means it is unlikely that Iron Man will be in Action in the Next Movie!
Can’t wait for this one!
By the way, THOR is Different From MIGHTOR! Hahaha! yung Caveman na nagiging super hero! Yung 5 lang naman silang tao sa Village tapos di nila makilala na sya si Mightor!

Philippine Airlines (PAL) Flight PR 849 Hassle!

We Landed at Mactan International Airport at Around 4:30PM, 15 Minutes late than the scheduled time. Fairly acceptable, until it was time to get our bags on the arrival area…

This process normally would only take a few minutes, but this time it took much longer than the usual. Why? Because apparently, the conveyor belt from the plane to the ground was broken, Only one batch of bags were unloaded and the rest were still stucked inside the plane – Including Ours…

Minutes passed by and still there was no sign of our bags.

Anjan Na yung Sundu Namin from the Hotel, and still no signs of the bags…

People are piling up and getting anxious and impatient by the minute…

Some people were literally arguing with the attendants on the other side of the conveyor belt…

The Pacific Flight who arrived few minutes after we landed were done with their baggage, and we are still waiting.

This Black Luggage has been moving around the conveyor for quite some time…

People are taking turns talking to the people behind this rubber curtain..

After a while, one by one, the baggage came out.. FINALLY! Anong Petsa Na! Kung sa Bantayan Island pa ako Pupunta Uumagahin na ako pag punta dun!

It was such a Hassle, we were scheduled for the Edge Coaster that Time! We Lost More than 1 Hour Vacation Time There! The worst part, there was no official announcement from PAL on what time the bags will be unloaded or the conveyor to be fixed!!! Talk about Customer Service!

But Hey! It is my Vacation! Happy Thoughts! Happy Thoughts!… Anyway, we know that the next rides will be a Blast! :p

I thought The Hassle was over… But I was wrong! My Next Post… Hassle sa Hotel! :p

My First Time Riding a Boeing 747 Plane!

I did not know that the Plane for our flight to Cebu this afternoon was a Boeing 747. When we boarded, I noticed that the seat arrangement was different from the Usual arrangement I know (Airbus A320). Immediately, I asked one of the attendant what plane model I am in.. and she said Boeing 747.. Call Me Jologs but I got very Excited! It was my first time riding a plane other than the Airbus A320…

The A320 was a basic plane.. seats more or less a hundred passengers. This one has 2 levels, level 2 was for the First and Business Class and the lover level was for the economy class…

There is a Touch Screen LCD on every seat!

Confirmed… Boeing 747 Nga! :p

Para saan naman to? Hehehe! :p

Center Seats… 10 seats per row, with 95 rows for economy alone!

Around 15 Minutes after mag distribute ng food, it was time to land…

The Travel was fairly comfortable… until we landed and it’s time to get our Bags at the conveyor belt…

A New Chapter in My Blogging Career

Last July 1, I attended a Webinar entitled “The State of Professional Blogging in the Philippines”. This online event was organized by Mr. Anton Diaz of www.ourawesomeplanet.com and Maven Secrets. The guest speaker was the considered “Father” of Pro-blogging in the Philippines Mr. Abe Olandres of www.yugatech.com. It was a one and a half hour webinar where Abe was able to discuss how he got into professional blogging, how he was able to make blogging his full-time career, and shared some tips and tricks of the trade.

One of the key thing that he said, that a blogger (an aspiring one) need to do to be able to make your blogging work is to focus on a topic. Ideally if you wish to blog on a certain topic like food, travel, tech, or cars, you should focus on those areas so as not to confuse your readers. This way, you will be able to attract more “loyal” readers who loves reading your topic. So basically, if you have a reader who loves food, and your blog is also about food, most probably - if you have good and up-to-date contents - that reader would continue to follow your blog.

Having said that, it is also important to separate your “personal stuff” from your blog (unless of course if IT is a personal blog). Most readers want to read the posts about the topic of your blog and not about your personal life. If you really want to blog a topic and your personal experiences, you should put it on a separate blog. That way, you have everything organized and properly placed.

And that’s what I did these past few days. I separated my blog into 2, one for my personal and one for dencio. From this day forward, readers of www.dencio.com will be reading only about food, travel, and some other non-personal thoughts. On the other hand, my more personal stuffs will be posted on www.dennisangulo.com.

I am looking forward to that I will gain more avid readers for both blogs because I am now able to - at least - target particular groups of readers. This is a big step for me in improving my blogging. I am keen in learning more blogging stuffs in the next few months.

I hope you like my posts and expect more stuff in the coming days… I wish!

I would like to thank Anton and Abe for a very enlightening Webinar. Also, thank you for all your support (naks!) because of you the visits and page view stats of my blog www.dencio.com is consistently moving on an upward trend…

Movie Time!

KNOWING:

Isang movie na pag labas ko ng sinehan eh felling ko ang tanga-tanga ko… hehe! Parang Ha?! Ano daw yun?! Parang religious, na may alien, na apocalypse, na global warming… Maganda naman sya yun nga lang kasi ayoko nga ng movie na kelangan ko pa mag-isip… di na entertaining! :p Hehehe! :p

FAST and FURIOUS 4:

Mas Maganda yung una (yung 1) kasi yung una parang feel-good and cool movie na malupit ang kwento at effects.. eto kasi masyadong seryoso, revenge ang tema nya. Sa effects di din masyado spectacular… wala pa din tatalo sa nag sslide sa ilalim ng truck. pero kung fan ka at napanood mo na din lang yung 1-3.. might as well panoorin mo na din.. tapos parang may hint pa sya ng part 5… :p Si michelle rodriguez, yung babaeng mukhang gangster… saglit lang role nya sa simula lang :p

Psst! Psst! Dapat nasa cinema 1 to ng ATC (ang nasa cinema 1 ay ang DBE) ang daming tao! puno Cinema 3 may pila pa sa labas… maganda sya, nakakatakot! or nakakagulat… mas maganda pa nga kwento nya kesa sukob eh… must see sa movie house kasi madilim at maganda ang sound… PAG DI KA NANOOD KUKUNIN KA NILA, KASI BAD KA! :p Psst! Psst!

DRAGON BALL EVOLUTION:

Kelangan ko lang to panoorin para mapatunayan ko na corny sya. Ang I was absolutely right! Fan ako ng DB-DBZ-DBGT na anime… This one is a loser! :p corny masyado.. basta! naboringan ako… hehe! :p Sa tingin ko dapat ang DB series sa Anime na lang talaga… Compared sa movie adaptation ng Spiderman, Xmen, at Transformers… eto eh Crap :p hahaha! :p Sorry na Goku! If there’s one thing na ok sa movie na ito… yun eh ang anim (6) na “dragonbols” Ni Bulma, Chi-Chi, at Mai! May tig-dadalawa silang dragon ball na may tig iisang star :p hahaha! :p bat kasi ganun.. Uyy! naintriga! Panalo ang Costume! lalo na si Chi-Chi! :p Hahahaha! :p “Must See” :)

Eto naman eh sa akin lang :p hahaha! :p Meron kang free will gamitin mo ito! :p

Sa Pantry…

Last post ko na muna for now about Oracle. Babalik na muna ako sa pag popost ng mga kainan sa paligid… So, this time ipapakita ko pantry namin :) Although mas maganda pantry nila pilita sa Solaris One at meron sila ice maker… kami wala… :p mas marami naman ata kami food sa pantry namin… hehe! :p Medyo maliit lang sya pero ok naman :p Cozy :p

Ayan na halos ang kabuo-an ng pantry.. medyo maliit lang sya :p

May LCD TV pag lunchtime, wowowee yan! buti naman at Kapamilya sila! :p Hehehe!

Ayan sa ilalim yung mag utensils like glasses, spoon/fork, plates, etc.. sa taas may cups and mugs, sa dulo may iced tea at juice (pero ubos na kasi uwian na to kinuha) tapos may phone pa, microwave na malupit, oven toaster, sandwich maker, water dispenser, coffee maker, at condiments.

Ayan self Service brewed coffee, pero meron pa din kami Nescafe vendo… everyday meron kami jan biscuits, crackers, or something… pag monday may fruits kami.. something healthy :)

Tapos meron parang bar stools sa harap ng bulletin board :P

So yun na lang muna sa ngayon… abangan nyo ang mas kapanapanabik na mga post ako about foods and other stuff :)

Nagsimula nung 2007 tapos naulit nung 2008 at ngayong 2009, muling nagtipon tipon upang mamanata sa chowking ang mga Jerico’s Witnesses! At Ngayon, lalo pang lumalaki ang grupo! :p

Sana sa 2010 tuloy pa din ang Panata! :p Sana yun pa din ang suot ni kernie nun :p para 4 years na! Hehehe! :p

Kwentuhan ng mga Van Drivers…

Bagong Work bagong byahe! Everyday, sa Van or Shuttle na ako sumasakay, at sa loob ng almost 2 weeks na pag sakay ko sa van to makati, medyo marami na din ako napulot na mga codes sa mga usapan nila sa radyo araw araw…. hehe! I-sshare ko ito sa inyo just in case di nyo pa na-fifigure out and mga ibig sabihin ng mga codes nila…

Oracle Day 2 and beyond… :p

This came in a bit late… I Know Right?! Hahahaha! :p Anyway…

Day 1 was familiarizing and paper works… Day 2 was lunch out day! It was our welcome Lunch from the team. So we headed out to Rockwell to eat at Via Mare Cafe.

After that wonderful lunch, which ended at around 2PM It was time for an All-Hands meeting with Steve… Tapos Uwian Na! :p

Day 3 was about legal stuff… A legal 101 talk form the Legal Guy of Oracle APAC. It took almost 1/3 of the day… but it was very informative and relevant. Also, we had free lunch :p From The Tea Republic located at the Ground floor of The Building. Schublig Sausage with Pasta! Soo Good! :p

And then There was Day 4… All hands meeting again with my teammates from the finance department. This time it was a delayed video presentation of the Finance boss of Oracle. The meeting ended at lunch time… and again free lunch… this time we went to whistlestop in jupiter. Which Turned out to be a bit of a hassle because of again – THEIR BAD SERVICE.

Day 5, TGIF! and It was a long weekend ahead! Training Started… Next week… Work na talaga! :p By the way, no free lunch last Friday… KKB sa KFC :)

Generally, Aside from the longer travel time, it was So far so good for me here in Oracle. I have learned a lot in a week! I am looking forward in the coming weeks! :)

At last! Holy Week! Holidays! :p

Oracle… Day 1

Moving Forward… It is my first day in Oracle, First time to work in Makati. The travel was way… way… out of my comfort zone… I hate RUSH HOUR! But its tolerable… Practice makes perfect right?

As promised.. I will be posting my first few days in my new Job in Oracle…

My first days is a blast! I was so excited… and my new Teammates are amazingly welcoming and warm… I am not saying that I won’t miss my old teammates but it just makes the transition easier :)

It was a Wonderful 4 years and 6 Months! It was a hard decision… But Life Must go on!

Kris Aquino Did it Again…

Another Inappropriate side comment from Ms. Kris Aquino.

The Buzz, March 8, 2009. Kris was on location at Francis M’s Wake and Was Interviewing His Wife Ms. Pia Magalona. They were talking about her last moments with Francis and then Kris did another – a bit inappropriate side comment or humor. (here is the conversation as I remember it)

Kris - “I’ve heard, it was spreading around that he sang for you before he left”

Kris - “We know that the hearing was the last sense to go”

Pia M - “No, actually it was the other way around”

Kris - “So you sang for Him”

Pia M - “yes”

Kris - “What song did you sing?”

And then Kris said on a somewhat giggle-ish tone of her…

Kris - “COLD SUMMER NIGHTS?!”

And then She giggled a bit and said sorry…

Pia answered back casually and gave a few lines of the song… and that concluded the interview.

Now, I don’t know if they are that close or not but I think the comment was really off -

Boy Abunda should have been sent on location instead of Kris… :p

The Interview would have been handled better… It was not funny!

Well… Yun lang! :p

2009’s Dirtiest Hotels

Trip Advisor.Com has released their list of the Dirtiest Hotels! A list you would not like your hotel to be in… I am so glad that the Philippines had no Entry on this List! Although deep inside, I was expecting even one to be included (probably in the top 20 :p)… But it seems other hotels suck more in cleanliness… :p The list was brought about by Reviews of Trip Advisor Members around the World. I was also surprised that Singapore has an entry. Imagine!! Singapore Has a Dirty Hotel!! Not one… But Three! :p Check out the lists and see if your favorite hotel is included!
