The reasons why a wax up is such an essential step in cosmetic dental treatment are listed below:

1- to see the shape of the teeth, so that you can check the length and the width and any changes can be made prior to the definitive restorations

2- can be used to make temporary crowns/veneers

3- to check function and bite forces when used as temporaries, so if any issues are present with the bite these can be corrected prior to the definitive restorations

CT scans are essential in treatment planning for dental implants for various reasons

1- it allows us to assess the bone width and height

2- we can see important anatomical structures like nerves, so that we know which areas to avoid during implant placements

3- it allows accurate implant placement

All these factors are essential in dental implant placement and for the successful outcome of the treatment.

We can provide very stable dentures by placing a few dental or mini implants which will then hold the denture in place very tightly.

Below is an example of a recently finished denture stabilisation case where locators were used to attach the denture firmly against the implants

There are many ways of correcting gappy teeth.

A very small gap may be corrected by white fillings, while other gaps may require veneers especially if the gaps are due to the small size of the teeth.

In most cases gaps can be treated with orthodontics and some cases may require a combination of orthodontics and veneers.

Below is an example of a patient with gappy teeth corrected with 6 Month Braces.

1-  we can catch problems like decay or gum problems early, meaning that less invasive treatments may be required

2- we can screen your mouth for conditions such as oral cancer, thrush and other skin conditions

3- we can let you know whether you need to modify your toothbrushing technique if you are missing certain areas

4- we can give you diet advice if you are starting to suffer from acid erosion

5- we can help you stop smoking

Prevention is always better than cure.

There are people who only attend the dentist when they are in absolute agony, but this often means that it may be too late to save a tooth or the treatment may be more complex and it would have been easier and quicker to treat had the patient attended more regularly.
