<p>So many <a title="Denver Weight Loss" href="http://corestrengthfit.com" target="_self">weight loss</a> books or diet programs focus on doing whatever it takes to<a title="Denver Personal Trainer" href="http://corestrengthfit.com" target="_self"> lose weight</a>, yes that&#8217;s important, and it&#8217;s vital. Knowledge is power for change, as long as it’s the right message and the complete message. The right message is how did you get there AND doing what it takes to lose the weight. Anything less and you produce a non sustainable way of living your life, it almost always results in failure and regain plus 10.</p>
<p>In every person I have ever worked with regarding fat loss, the problem has been with the “fork in the road” approach to weight loss compared to a single path approach. The single path or “prong” approach is balance, what you’re really striving for. The “fork in the road” represents the continual diversion we present ourselves after those many failed attempts. It’s so much easier to believe in an infomercial plying supplements (these will NEVER help you lose or maintain weight, I promise you this is not the answer), trying a popular or celebrity diet, or joining a national weight loss program that has you buy their food.</p>
<p>Most of these approaches will do nothing in the long run as the initial results stall, frustration sets in, and the goal that seemed promising becomes the story of the diet that didn’t work. Then you choose another fork that may present starvation or shakes only, anything to lose the weight fast. Because ultimately, all you want to do is fit in your clothes again. It&#8217;s not even to be a body builder or fitness cover model, people don&#8217;t want that, that would be great, but its not reality for most. This artificial application is always temporary and produces imbalance. And yes, the ten people on TV who look fabulous and did make it through that particular diet or program, I congratulate them. It&#8217;s the determination and focus of real individuals changing their lives that makes them a champion. It will work for those few outliers, companies count on it. We are not all homogeneous however.</p>

<p>If I have been asked one question more than any other question regarding weight loss, it always includes: &#8220;What type of training should I  do for maximum fat loss?&#8221; It is then followed by; &#8220;Should I do more aerobic, resistance, or high intensity interval training for the best results?&#8221; Although all these modes of exercise are important in every weight loss program, keeping your head out of the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets is the most effective weight loss method.</p>
<p>First, you must understand that anyone can put down 500 calories within 5 minutes without much effort. It takes most of us an hour to burn off that same five hundred calories. This is a battle you will never win, you will always consume  calories faster than you are able  to burn them off. For weight loss to happen effectively and consistently, you must understand and control your environment. Have you ever walked by the refrigeratror or kitchen cabinet and opened the door to look in, regardless of hunger? Why do we do this? The reason is simple, dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in the brain associated with pleasure and reward. In caveman days, dopamine served us well. Dopamine was produced in the brain to search for food, and forage for the sake of locating calories of any type. If you saw a birds nest in a tree from a distance, it didn&#8217;t matter whether you were hungry or not, only that the possibility exists that the birds nest may contain eggs. The possibility of reward.</p>
<p>Dopamine is a very effective survival mechanism that propels our continual drive for food in locations that we have either found food before or show promise based on simmilar searches for food. Dopamine excites us about the potential for reward based on past experiences. So the next time you walk by your refrigerator or kitchen cabinets and look in, ask yourself, are you really hungry? Probably not.</p>

<p>As a Denver Personal Trainer and Fat Loss Expert, the number one tip I can give someone is to eat for weight loss not health. Let me give you an example to start a discusssion. When I ask most people to name a healthy juice they can include in their weight loss nutrition plan, I hear orange juice as the most quoted &#8220;health&#8221; product. Orange juice has more than 60 phytonutrients and many of them are identified as flavonoids. Research has shown that flavonoids are natural antioxidants and help support a healthy cardiovascular system and immune system. Of course it also packs 100% of our daily vitamin C needs as well as many other vitamins and minerals. Sounds great right, it&#8217;s healthy right?</p>
<p>An 8 oz glass of orange juice takes about 4 oranges to make when a portion size is 1 orange. Have you ever seen anyone pour just 2 oz of orange juice? It never happens. The real problem with orange juice is the sugar content of four portions, that same glass has 24 grams worth of sugar, about half of a soft drink. Orange juice is obviously the better choice than a soda, but here&#8217;s the take home; Regardless of the phytonutrients, flavonoids, antioxidants, or vitamins &amp; minerals, a glass of orange juice is not the best choice if you&#8217;re trying to lose fat. Once the fiber has been removed it becomes a sugar bomb. Yes, it&#8217;s no longer healthy. All the vitamin C you need durning weight loss can be attained by green vegetables, without the sugar. You have to give your body a purpose, not send mixed signals. Guess what? It&#8217;s still healthy. Remember, the goal is weight loss.</p>

<p>Welcome to our <a title="Denver Personal Trainer" href="http://corestrengthfit.com/" target="_blank">CoreStrength Fitness</a> blog and very first post. We are an <a title="Denver Personal Trainer" href="http://corestrengthfit.com/personal-training.html" target="_blank">In-Home Denver Personal Training</a> company that specializes in Weight Loss and Functional Strength Training. This blog is designed to introduce a paradigm shift in how you currently think about weight loss and fitness. We will share with you the Science of Weight Loss and help you understand how to lose weight and keep it off for life. Our goal then will be to provide the solution of how to completely change your current eating lifestyle, you will learn to evolve it. The nutrition education we will bring to you is cutting edge and based on solid research and backed up by proven fat loss results. We will also show you how to be active again. You are an athlete with the ability to run, sprint,  jump, climb, push, pull, balance, and stabilize your body, and we will show you how to get back to that level. To be clear, we will be your Fitness and Nutrition Coach and invest in you on every level to help you attain the body of you seek. </p>
