Denver lot clearing cost? It pays for itself.

Cleared land sells for 5-20% more that uncleared lots

If you are trying to sell a lot in Denver, you should consider lot clearing. Cleared lots are ready for the buyer to build or landscape to their liking. Developers like to see land that is cleared because it is less work for them to do. In addition, cleared lots show much better than lots full of shrubs, trees, and other growth.

Other Denver land clearing companies only cut trees…and leave the stumps!

When we clear a lot, we not only cut down the trees, we completely remove the stumps. This means that when we’re done with the job, your land is cleared, not cropped. Stump removal is an important part of clearing out a lot because if not taken care of at the same time, it can become a much larger expense — and a hazard.

Why we remove stumps when clearing a lot:

If you don’t remove stumps that are in a building footprint, a builder will generally rent a backhoe to remove stumps because there is no longer leverage from the tree trunk. This typically costs double or triple the cost of lot clearing.

Stumps are an eyesore, and can affect the sale price of a lot.

Tree stumps can become a breeding ground for insects, including termites. Termites + construction = problems.

We clean our equipment.

After each job, we clean each of our tools, including chainsaws, bush-whackers, and pole saws. We clean the equipment so that we don’t transmit possible disease between lots. This is an important practice, and we are proud to hold ourselves to this higher standard.

We use the scalpel before the hatchet.

A cleared lot should not look like a decimated swatch of the rainforest.

When we clear a lot, we use the environmentally-friendly method of removing individual trees and shrubs, rather than bulldozing the lot. This leaves the lot in much better condition, which helps prevent erosion as well as maintain land appeal. We don’t recommend the “scrape and push” methods in most situations, though we do offer the service.

Stumps, be gone!

A dead stump in a yard is an eyesore and limits what you can do with your landscaping, and if the stump is in your garden, it takes up valuable space. If you have children that play in the yard, having an exposed stump can also be a safety issue. A Touch of Class Tree Service offers stump removal services in Denver.

How does stump removal work?

When we remove tree stumps in Denver, we use a stump grinder. What this does is chips away at the stump using a spinning disk. The stump is ground down, and many of the major roots are also chipped away.

When removing a stump and roots, our stump grinders go down 10-12” into the earth, to allow room to grow for plants planted where the stump used to be.

Removing stumps is an easy process with big rewards.

Many of our customers thank us after the stump is gone and tell us that they didn’t realize how annoying, ugly, or large the tree stump had been until it was gone. It’s a small investment that in most cases takes less than an hour, but it can change how you feel about your yard, garden and home for years to come.

Spring is here, and the trees are brimming with buds. Should I trim my tree?

Short answer: when in doubt, do not prune your trees or trim trees in the Spring.

Long answer: fall or winter are the best times of year to trim trees because trees (and pests) are dormant. Pruning in the Spring increases tree stress and sap loss and can lead to disease and unwanted pests. During winter, fungi, pests, and your tree are dormant — in the spring, they become active. Certain tree species and varieties are more vulnerable than others. It may be ok to prune certain species of trees in the Spring.

Reasons to have your trees trimmed in the fall or winter:

Reduced risk of pest or fungal infection

Minimize sap loss and tree stress

With the leaves off, you will have a better concept of how pruning will affect the shape of the tree

Why hire a professional tree trimming company?

A professional tree trimming service will know when to trim certain tree species. Each species has a different set of vulnerabilities to pests and/or fungi, and a professional tree service will know how to handle these issues.

It is easy to get carried away when pruning trees; professional tree trimmers know how to properly thin trees without removing too many limbs, which may cause stress or possibly kill the tree.

Tree trimming is dangerous. When trimming a tall tree, it is often necessary to scale the tree. Professionals use harnesses, tree spikes/spurs, and are trained professionals whom have logged hundreds of hours trimming trees. Hiring a professional is a smart way to keep yourself safe!

Not sure whether it’s safe to trim your tree in the Spring?

If you would like to have your trees trimmed or pruned, but aren’t sure whether it is safe to prune in the Spring, give us a call at (303) 274-8431.
