Actress Katrina Kaif says the first thing she think of when she is thirsty is plain water.

The 28-year-old promotes mango drink Slice, but when asked what she turns to when she is thirsty, she told: "The first thing is water!"

"But when you're looking for something that gives you energy, have something and craving for something different that's where Slice comes into the picture. It's a little more than just something to drink," she added.

Considering that the actress is so fit, how come she promotes a drink, which could be sugar-loaded in nature.

"That was always a concern for me, that is why I did look into it before I signed the brand. But I think the good thing is that they are doing a good job in keeping that part in check," said Katrina.

The atmosphere is crazy! I think it’s great because usually the country is divided with people supporting their own teams/clubs, but when the European Championship starts, the country unites.

Your dad is a sports presenter. Has sports always been a part of your life?
Sport was a huge part of my life when I was little, and it is even now. Throughout school I was a part of every team possible. Today, I don’t get that much time to hit the ground, but I still have my horses in the UK and compete with my mum in dressage or show jumping.

Any instances of football madness with family members or friends?
There are some fanatical football fans across the world, but Europe definitely has the craziest, and some of them are part of my family!

A week before my mum and dad were to be married, my mum’s brothers (who are fanatical Evertonian’s) found out that my dad was a Liverpool fan and they did everything in their power to convert him into an Everton supporter before he married their sister. Now 20 years later they’re still trying!!

Who are your favourite football players?
My number one is Steven Gerrard. He is a fellow ‘Scouser’, captain of England and one of the best footballers in the country. A close second is David Beckham. Football was hardly spoken about in America before he headed over to LA Galaxy. He’s completely turned that around, not to mention that he makes a fabulous underwear model!

What do you like about the way the English play cricket?
I love cricket and back home, I especially love Jimmy Anderson; he’s as fast as lightening! I admit that India has made me into a serious cricket fan though. I was addicted to the IPL and it was constantly on in my house.

After being booked for disorderly conduct, Miss Cortese was later seen leaving jail with her parents as cameras captured all of the drama.

Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan’s romance seems to be in full bloom in Fiji where the duo is currently shooting for a psychological thriller.

As it is a long outdoor schedule, the two have been living it up. Unit sources state that the couple is inseparable. They may be facing the camera together but after pack up, both don’t leave each other’s side even for a nanosecond.

The Tata Pixel, with ‘Zero Turn’ drive and an innovative diamond-shaped door system, is a city car concept for Europe from Tata Motors.

Based on the Tata Nano, the Pixel – at just over three metres in length – is the most package efficient four-seater in the world, comfortably accommodating four adults, unlike a typical city car which is either a two-seater or can accommodate two adults and two children only.

Why should I when I can live everywhere? I have always had itchy feet and the desire to explore. Everytime things get monotonous, I move countries. And then when I come back, I'm a fresh face again (laughs).

Role play
I think I can pull off any role. Being on a daily show, and shooting five days a week for the past two years has definitely made me a more confident and competent actress. Nothing works better than experience.

I had pages of dialogues to remember and had to be quick on my feet and now I don't think there is any role I cannot play. Having said that, my favourite is comedy. I think that is my forte!

I also did a one woman solo show on stage, in New York. It got a lot of laughs. It was about the life of a Bollywood actress. I wrote it for the US audience.

Life in the Big Apple
What I loved about New York was the access to some great writing and acting schools, which helped me hone my craft. So after my shoot, I'd be rushing off forclasses every evening.

I also tried to take as much advantage of the theatre and the museums as I could. I feel that I have had so much creative growth in the past two years. The flip side was that I always felt that I needed to do something in NYC, and that I was wasting my time. I feel more peaceful after coming to Bombay.

Moreover, I lived alone and had to do all the household chores on my own; cook, clean and wash dishes. That's the worst, I hate washing dishes more than anything else.

I had a walk-up apartment in New York – three flights up, and I had to carry my bags, groceries, suitcases everything up and down by myself. When I got here and the driver carried my bag up the stairs, I almost kissed him. I feel we Indian girls are spoilt for their choices (giggles).

After Sonakshi went public with her claim that she was more comfortable working with older men, looks like the actress is getting a taste of her own medicine.

Now, the younger actors in Bollywood apparently don’t want to be paired with her, reason being she would look too old next to them.

We have learnt that while Sona was keen to pair up with Ranbir Kapoor, he feels she will look way older to him on screen. The same sentiment is apparently being echoed by RK’s good friend Shahid Kapoor as well.

Interestingly, it seems Sonakshi is not aware of Ranbir’s opinion about her. However, she is believed to be in the know-how about Shahid’s view about her looks.

While it has been reported that Sonakshi turned town the remake of Vettai some weeks ago because he opted out of Punit Malhotra’s next for Karan Johar, our source attributes it to her being upset hearing about Sasha taking digs at her.

Our informer explains, “Sonakshi is very keen to work with Ranbir and Shahid, who are closer to her age. Gulshan Grover is quite impressed with Amitabh Bachchan's commitment and praises him for shooting for his make-up man Deepak Sawant's Bhojpuri film "Gangadevi" despite his ill-health.

"During the shooting of 'Gangadevi' one thing that I noticed that today when successful actors easily forget their friends, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan shot for their make-up man's film in intense heat," Gulshan told reporters Wednesday at the launch of the first look of "Gangadevi".

"Amitabh worked in the film despite being unwell and I salute him for having such a wonderful quality. When you will see the film, you'll realise the place it was shot in is very hot. I have never seen this quality in any actor," added the 56-year-old, who is making his debut in Bhojpuri movies with "Gangadevi".

Meanwhile, Sawant considers himself lucky to have the love of Big B.

"I sometimes feel that Amitji loves me so much that no one can be luckier than me. I pray to god that his love remains with me forever. I feel I am Ram-bhakt Hanuman, he is Ram and I am Hanuman. However, she is now set to play a protagonist and her first such endeavour is "Shobhna's 7 Nights", in which she will be seen in a bold avatar.

American model-turned-actress Nargis Fakhri, whose voice in her debut film "Rockstar" was dubbed due to her poor Hindi diction, is busy working on the language and reveals that finally she can read and write a bit of Hindi.

"Everything takes time, it doesn't happen like this. I was plucked out of the sky and put here. So, it's taking time but it's going well," she said Monday at the launch of the Gaja Store.

"I am really happy, I am reading and writing, which is great. So at least when I can read I am like, 'Yes, I can read'," she added.

The 32-year-old has one film in hand, "Khiladi 786" opposite Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Paresh Rawal. Meanwhile, she is reading scripts and may zero in on something soon.

"I have been doing a lot of events, brands and magazines and I have also been reading a lot of scripts and I have taken my time. Now I have found something I really love.

So it's all coming along. It's patience. If I want to do it, I'll do it. If I don't want to do it, I will not do it," said Nargis.

South siren Nisha Yadav aka Ameesha Yadav has gone nude to show her agitation to get Mumbai’s drains cleaned before the monsoons.

Nisha Yadav’s publicist said, “Nisha Yadav has shot some volatile photos which are part of an awareness campaign. Let us hope the people of Mumbai take it in the right spirit.

"Each year the BMC spends about Rs 10-15 crore before the monsoons to clean up the drains. In spite of such a huge expenditure, there is flooding even on the first day of some medium to heavy rain."

"Nisha’s campaign photo shoot is titled Bash The Trash & Damn The Plastic. We do not have huge budgets to create city-wide awareness and such a campaign it’s definitely an attention-grabber,” the publicist said.

Yadav's Tamil film is due to release next month. She was last seen in the buff in regional film Corruption – The Curse, based on Anna Hazare’s struggle against corruption.
