This week on Friday, Jhalak Dikhlaja - Dancing with the Stars are going to have two very new dazzling special guests… Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. Both are the special guests on Sony’s Jhalak Dikhla Ja.

They took the floor and had everybody floored with their delightful number from Saawariya.

Perhaps, inspired by their presence on the sets, every contestant gave their best performance. It was jugalbandi round and each contestant and his/her choreographer put up an entertaining performance.

On the face of it, former Miss India Nikita, who makes her debut in Hindi films with Manish Tiwari’s Dil Dosti Etc (not counting Life Mein Kabhie Kabhiee which featured her in a small role) may seem just another beauty pageant winner entering films by cashing in on the limelight coming her way.

“For me, after winning the Miss India crown, doing films was not a natural choice. In fact, initially, I did not want to join films as I did not have any preparation or background. I like to be confident of what I am doing before venturing into it, ” Nikita said on the eve of the release of ‘Dil Dosti etc’, which also marks veteran filmmaker Prakash Jha ’s debut as a producer.

Having won the 'Fa' Femina Miss India title in 2002, Neha Dhupia is indeed a beautiful lass and one among the pretty ladies in Bollywood today.

Although Neha has failed to leave an impact on Bollywood, she has left the imprint of being a sexy lady among the audience. Her beauty and sex appeal is not only a topic of discussion among her directors, but also the audience!

But here is the anti-climax; Neha does not consider herself to be beautiful at all!!

Believe it or not, Neha does not consider her to be beautiful, but says that she is average-looking.

Neha says, "I don't consider myself to be beautiful, but my appearance is like the other girls in general. According to me, Lisa Ray and Aishwarya Rai are beautiful women."

Recalling an incident of her childhood days, Neha says, "I was so fatty during my school days that no boy used to talk with me. Neither did anyone present me any gift. A reason for this could be that my father, who was in the Army, and my elder brother always protected me like bodyguards."

All these notwithstanding, winning the Miss India title, Neha has proved to the world that she is not only beautiful, but also intelligent.

Anyways, it seems that the boys at Neha's school must be repenting now. Had they presented Neha with gifts then, it might be possible that they could win her heart then!

Well, after learning about Neha's story, we have begun wondering if the fantasy stories being shown on Indian television these days are inspired from her life.

Royal red carpet premiere for Jodhaa Akbar

Mumbai: The Jodhaa Akbar premiere glittered with the presence of its leading stars and their families, whose confidence in the film shone through.

On a red carpet tailor made for a film saluting royalty the Bachchans and the Roshans put their best foot forward.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, who plays Akbar in the historical drama said minutes before going in for the premiere, "I'm very happy, wish me luck."

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who plays the role of Jodhaa, looked like a vision in pink. The actress was all praises for the efforts put into the making of the period epic as she said, "We have put in the effort from the costumes, to the sets and acting to make a film like this so special."

Director Ashutosh Gowariker said, "I' m anticipating, and looking forward to the reactions the film is going to receive."

Not only the crew of the film, but many from the film fraternity were present at the premiere to show their support for the film, even actors and filmmakers who rarely make public appearances, turned up to catch the royal love story.

Actor Aamir Khan was enthusiastic as he said, "I' m very keen to see what Ashutosh has made on this particular subject, so I' m looking forward to seeing the film."

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra was inquisitive as he said, "I' m curious to see how Ashutosh has handled the Ash-Hrithik combo."

With initial reports being positive, and such a glorious star cast, Jodhaa Akbar stands a strong chance of becoming the first major hit of this year.

Katrina Kaif is all out to prove that she has the mettle and doesn't need boyfriend Sallu to pull strings for her anymore. Kat has managed to get herself a six-crore-deal for two films with Studio 18.

When contacted, Katrina confirmed the story but was surprised that we knew about the deal. She says, "Yes, it is true that I've signed up for two films. But where did you hear about this? I can't reveal anything about the deal as I've signed a confidentiality contract with them."

She adds, "I've worked with them in Namaste London , Welcome and the soon to be released, Singh is Kinng and I'm looking forward to working with them again. Both the scripts and the directors are brilliant."

Confirming the news about Katrina signing the deal, Sandeep Bhargav CEO - Studio 18 says, "Yes, we have signed Katrina for two films but it is too early to talk about them. She is not only very hard working but, with time, she has matured as an actress."

Katrina will start shooting for the films after completing Subhash Ghai's Yuvraaj which she's currently working on.

Celebrating Love: With Ajay, Kajol and U Me Aur Hum

You cant hurry love, No, you just have to wait; She said love don't come easy, it's a game of give and take

Diana Ross's love song pretty much sums up the theme of the CNN-IBN Valentine's Day special show Celebrating Love. Moderated by Anuradha SenGupta, the show saw real-life celebrity couple Kajol and Ajay Devgan - making their first public appearance together on Indian television - talk about love, marriage and their upcoming film U Me Aur Hum.

They were joined on the show by three more couples whose love stories are as intriguing and interesting as the concept of love - Srija and Shirish from Hyderabad, Daniella and Rahul from New Delhi and Namrata and Yogesh, also from New Delhi.

Given below is an excerpt from the chat with Ajay and Kajol, followed by the complete video of the show.

Anuradha SenGupta: U Me Aur Hum sees you both together after seven years. I am an Ajay Devgan fan and of his movies like Omkara, Company and Khaki. When you decided to pick your first movie to direct, the fact that you chose romance - 'love at first sight' - surprises me.

Ajay: I didn't decide I wanted to direct first and then decided the plot. I had something in my which I wanted to speak about. I had an idea. I wanted to speak about love, positively. I thought we were missing a lot of positivity and we discussed all problems except love. So I wanted to say something and decided I might as well say it myself.

SenGupta: Is it something we are missing, Kajol? Is he a romantic guy and we don't know about it?

Kajol (laughs): Umm...The fact that I am hesitating should tell you a lot. I think he required a lot of training and that's why it took us seven years to make U Me Aur Hum. I think he believes in the essence of romance more than anything else. I think he believes deep down that love is about - umm - jaise bolte hain, nibhana padta hai (one has to get by).

Ajay: It's not about talking, it's about action. And that's what I believe in. It's in subtle things and not in the big things. You can just figure out if the other person loves you through those subtle things.

Kajol: You don't have to give her a diamond ring to prove that you love her.

SenGupta: (to Ajay) You just said positivity. In you director's quote you say and I quote, 'The primary reason for me to make this film is about positivity. People have become cynical and less optimistic than before.' Why do you think that true love is not in such demand these days?

Ajay: I am not saying it's not in demand. But when you read papers and hear people talk, you just hear about things not working out, divorces happening and not getting along.

Kajol: When you get married you go in thinking, 'Oh my God! What am I going to do and I will get divorced.' So you are already preparing yourself before hand.

Aishwarya Rai has hit on the rumours which suggested that she has pulled out of Shankar's Robot due to her pregnancy. The Bollywood beauty has not only confirmed her plans to to play lead role opposite superstar Rajinikanth but also rubbished the baby rumours.

In an interview to a private television channel, the Bollywood beauty confirmed that she is being paied with Rajini and very much there in the project.

"I don't know why you people are so eager to spread such dubious gossip. The script too is very good so I'm going to act in the role of Rajini's leading lady in Robot. It is my pleasure to act with the superstar," she told.

"After hearing the gossip about my pregnancy, I got numerous phone calls from almost all over the world. Abhishek and I have planned to look at children after 3 years. Till that I'm going to push forward my career," she added.

According to some reports, Ash has been offered a hefty Rs 6 crore to act in the film. Robot will be made in three languages at an estimated cost of Rs. 125 crore.

Indian screen superstar Shah Rukh Khan is spending an estimated Rs.1 billion for perhaps the costliest Bollywood movie to be made so far. The movie for children will be in the VFX medium, using computer-generated special effects.

It will be a movie featuring a lot of children who wish for bad things, but get a shocking reality check when they come true, Shah Rukh told Patrick Frater of Hollywood's top trade magazine Variety in a recent interview in Berlin.

He is talking to Eros Multimedia and Charles Darby (of 'The Matrix' and 'Minority Report' fame), the visual effects guru, who recently co-ventured with Eros to launch Mumbai-based special effects Eyeqube Studios.

Shah Rukh said he was planning the movie under his home banner, Red Chillies Productions. The new venture - to be directed by Anubhav Sinha - had a budget of $25 million (almost Rs.1 billion), making it the most expensive Bollywood movie to date.

'We are dedicating the next eight or nine months to taking the best technicians from around the world and asking them to help us make the best VFX film India has ever made. It will be madcap, over the top. I want it to be as beautiful as 'Spider-Man' in terms of effects,' Khan told Variety.

The VFX medium uses computer-generated effects that give movies a fantasy-like feel. The best example of a VFX movie is Steven Spielberg's 'Jurassic Park', where computers made the dragons fly.

Asked why he has not yet been courted by Hollywood, he replied in his characteristic tongue-in-cheek manner: ''I'm waiting for someone like Steven Spielberg or James Cameroon (of 'Titanic' fame) or some other great person like Ang Lee to make a film, a film about a brown, thin, scrawny Indian guy who doesn't speak English too well. If they ever have a character like that and Google it, I'm sure they'll find me.'

He said he'd love to do an action-comic movie like Chris Rock and Jackie Chan.

'As a producer I would like to make an Indian film that genuinely crosses borders, not a crossover film, where you forget that it has a language, like 'Life Is Beautiful'. I didn't realise at first that it was an Italian film. Or 'The Lives of Others'. I think I can do it in my lifetime, maybe in the next five years.'

Shah Rukh admitted to the interviewer that his last year's home production, 'Om Shanti Om,' was full of cliches of Indian cinema. 'But it is full of heart. I think we need to make more movies like this and gradually more and more people will come to like that,' he said.

Vulgar Mallika not Welcome in Pakistan
Mallika Sherawat is not Welcome in Pakistan, that is what Pakistan Film Censor Board is telling all Cinema owners in the country who are screening the Bollywod film Welcome.

Mallika is a bad influence on youngsters as she promotes obscenity, the board insists. Safdar Khan, the secretary general of the Pakistan Cinema Owners Association, confirmed that the board has already given the censored version to theatres across Pakistan.

He added that theatre owners have been warned of strict action if they continue to screen the film without the cuts.

However, Jamshed Zafar, the acting chairman of the Pakistan Film Distributors Association, says the audience had rejected the censored version on the very first day. Hence the cinema owners had to display banners, stating, 'Come and see the uncensored version of Welcome'.

Even the scenes involving Feroz Khan are being chopped off as the actor created a huge uproar with his anti-Pakistan comments during his visit in April 2007.

The Pakitan board's decision seems more ironic as Mallika has not shed clothes onscreen for the first time. "She has been shot very aesthetically. There is no obscenity in any of her scenes. She has worn traditional clothes in the entire film," rues director Anees Bazme.

"The continuity of the film will be disturbed. With Mallika's entry there is a twist in the story board" he adds.

Is Pakistan Censor Board listening?
