As I sit here on this gloomy day in so cal, (I had planned on catching some sun at the beach :/) I came across the beautiful jewelry collection of Michelle Jank, and am completely in love with her grandoise floral jewelry. A definite mood changer and I'm not so sad afterall about the beach. All very costume-esque and theatrical which is why I love it. Michelle's work spans from jewelry, design, to styling, costume and theatrical work. No wonder these pieces are dreamy and so over the top! Runway is expected to be intriguing and shocking, but the question here, is how to wear it in a normal public setting? Say, out on the town on a beautiful night in Los Angeles...without looking like you missed the costume gala? I think if you love her collection then your personality is big enough not to care that you look like a walking garden diva dripping with impractically large ribbons and bows. Her fashion collection is equally impressive and mysterious. A black, white and grey color palette with so much mystery and personality. Such a rare interpretation of fashion that celebrates her personality and that of the individual who wears her collection. Here are some pics to swoon over until we can all buy a piece for ourselves. ;)

Las Vegas Market Aug 2011

The LV Market this summer was a bit of a ghost town, not that surprising, all things considered. For those that did show up and walked the red carpet clad halls of Modern Trends, I'm sure were all very pleased with the abundance of new introductions! The excitement of market is getting to preview all the new product for the coming season. On the contemporary end, Star International had a great showing of new product. From a two tone walnut & white lacquer bedroom collection to a floating glass living & dining collection. Lots of high-gloss which I absolutely love! On the more transitional end, Orient Express had an impressive collection of stonewash casegoods. Stonewash is the hot new trend right now and OEF seems to be stepping out on the right foot. Also loved their tufted dining chairs and velvet floor poufs! <3 Now let's talk about Four Hands...absolutely in love with their bubble chair. I've wanted a hanging bubble chair for a while now but their floor version is much roomier on the inside and has a great looking substantial chrome stand. I stood in their front window and stared at the Kelly Wearstler vignette for a few minutes just wanting it all. Arteriors Home has a bar stool that I've been eyeing for a while and was incredibly excited to see that they've now introduced it in a grey leather! Perfect for my home. The two colors they currently stock it in are black and cream. All equally as beautiful but the grey works for me. :) If anyone has any questions about any of the product shown below, please email me and I can help you out. High Point market is set for October and creeping up on us quickly but I'm definitely looking forward to it and excited for another great show!

Wow! I've been a terrible blogger lately...so busy working on these tradeshows that I didn't even realize its been almost 4 months since my last post! :/ however, i've had 4 months of saving material to write up on so expect plenty from now on ;) So...I know High Point Market was waaay back in April but I wanted to share a few vendors that are still stuck in my mind from last show. First off, Natuzzi has an amazing building. Built to resemble a cruise ship, the curved side features a port hole window and they even included a moat to add to the effect! Super cool.

Ok, now that we've got that out of the way...Love love Luna Bella ! their showroom was like a candy store for me. I absolutely love the femininity, intricate details and use of various mediums. Every piece is hand crafted and is a true work of art. The mirrored ottomans and scalloped vanity chair are to die for! Aren't they gorge?

This lamp is attached to the bed...has a pulley to adjust the height. <3

i can't stop thinking about these ottomans...have.to.have.them...

And their romantic lighting fixtures...uh-mazing. puts a smile on my face and reminds me how much i love what i do for a living.

This year I am on the board for ASID and my job is to make the Boys Hope House livable and functional for some very deserving young boys. Every penny raised at this event goes towards making their home a better place to live and is a 100% write-off.

I have planned a fundraiser benefitting the Boys Hope Girls Hope called POKER NIGHT at Cosentino's! I have invited a diverse group of design professionals, television personalities, and OC philanthropists. The night consists of an exciting Poker Tournament with the winner receiving a weeks vacation on a beach front property in Cabo San Lucas! There is also craps, roulette and blackjack for people that are a little rusty on their poker game. If gambling isn't your thing then you can just sit back and listen to live music, have some drinks, and eat some food. We also have lots of fabulous prizes, so make sure you purchase those raffle tickets!

Say hello to a painted Damask front door!

I came across this painted entry door and had to share it! I've done a post before on painted entry doors that were awesome...bright pink, neon green, electric blue etc etc. but this is the first one I've seen with a pattern that I really like. One would have to be pretty darn brave to attempt this project and have a super cool eclectic mod interior to pull this off. I mean, this door sets a pretty high level of design expectation before you even get inside right?! If I walked up to this door I would be so excited to see what else was to come. haha Oh the pressure! I love the color, the damask pattern is awesome and I love how completely unexpected it is. (i've gotta have that candlestick holder!) I don't think my neighbors (or hoa) would jump on the bandwagon for me to paint a pattern on my front door...but for now, I'm loving the idea of it all.

I'm in the middle of watching Date Night and James Franco's character enters the scene, which makes me realize that the Oscars are tomorrow night! James is co-hosting this year (which is why it reminded me) and I'm so excited to watch the red carpet. It's my favorite part of the show! If I missed the rest I really wouldn't feel that bad. These gowns are a few of my faves from various designers' 2011 Fall/Winter Collections. I wonder if any of these will make it on the red carpet tomorrow night? We'll have to wait and see...

I keep thinking that some day when I finally re-furnish my living room I definitely want to add a gold metal table. Whether it's a small side table or large coffee table, I think it adds a bit of glitz to the space, almost like adding a piece of gold jewelry. I've had my eye on the rams head table for a while now but I also found some others that are definite winners. The tables on their own are beautiful, but to see them in a fully designed space makes you realize how much of a statement piece they really are, so I've included room views of each table below. ~enjoy!

I bought an umbrella the other day at target because, well...it was only 10 bucks and it had started to rain while i was shopping so it was a last minute necessity. If I had longer to plan out my umbrella purchase I would have liked to find one that was much bigger because once I opened it up I barely fit under the lil thing! Now, Target does have some larger ones but I failed to pick the right size :/ . I love the large umbrellas that can fit two people under them and have a longer handle. I found this pic of Mary-Kate Olsen (or maybe its Ashley...who knows) and love the large frilly umbrella she's hiding under so I put a few umbrellas together that I thought were fun and unique. Time to retire my once used tiny target umbrella for one of these!

I love Bakerella's Cake Pops and her Christmas themed pops are so cute! These are a great dessert to take to a Christmas party, so get that oven warmed up and try them out. They are super easy to make and everyone loves them. Reindeer, Santa hat and Christmas Trees...what about a snowman? Maybe I'll give it a try. :)

Thanksgiving tablescape ideas! Love the table below by Miles Redd...great color scheme and the geometric tablecloth is subtle yet eye catching. A couple tips for a great Thanksgiving table setting: 1) Bring in color with florals...Orange, browns, cream and a splash of your favorite bold color for a beautiful color scheme. 2) Pumpkins...in their original color or spray paint them white or gold! Would look great lined up on the table between floral garlands or group them together. 3) Candles...look great with or without candleholders, candle sticks are a pretty addition as well. Lined up or grouped together, add them in different heights to for a great look. 4) Table runner...add a table runner or table cloth in a bold pattern or solid color depending on your plate settings. 5) Place cards...make it personal with handmade place cards at each table setting. Your guests will sure be thankful for your craftiness!

yesterday afternoon my boyfriend and a group of friends boarded a cruise ship for a fun filled bachelor party...wish i could be a fly on the wall. he called me before they took off and made it a point to say that the rooms were in desperate need of a makeover, while his friend shouts in the background, "they need your help!"...when i hear the words "cruise ship" i guess i automatically assume that you will be traveling the seas in luxury. because in my head, i'm imagining this amazing ship with state of the art facilities, modern interiors so well designed that you forget you're on a ship...enter Royal Caribbean and their most innovative and imaginative ship yet, Oasis of the Seas. This ship doesn't set sail until 2011 so i have plenty of time to plan my trip! ;) now this is what i call traveling the seas in luxury: 16 decks, ultra-modern loft suites, pool & sports zones with rock climbing, basketball you name it! and of course, shopping and an amazing spa. ahhh. unfortunately for my boyfriend and his friends they are not on this ship...however, i'm sure they are having a great time as we speak, despite the interior design...but when i get ready to plan my cruise, this is definitely where i want to be! photos below are of Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas

With football back in action it's time to break your team gear out from the back of that closet! don't have anything to wear with your fave team logo on it? not to worry cuz i've already done the shopping for you! assuming that you're all chargers fans right!?! hahaha :) Either way, check out these websites for some great finds in the team of your choice. I usually attend 2-3 games per season so I'm pretty stocked up on my fan apparel but i absolutely love all of the below. two years ago I attended a game in December and it was really cold, I saw a girl wearing the most amazing blue puffy chargers jacket with a fur hood! I've been looking for that darn jacket ever since and can't find it! The closest thing I found is the white one below which is super cute but it doesn't have the fur hood :( Anyone know where I can find it? go Chargers!

i've finally been reunited with my good ole' Kimball piano! it's been at least ten years since i last played it and can still play the same ole' song...the only one i memorized because i'm terrible at reading music. after hauling it two hours from my parents house to mine, i thought i might vamp up the original wood stain with a fresh coat of lacquered paint! unfortunately my boyfriend didn't think it was such a great idea and thought i would compromise the integrity of the piano. i think it would look fabulous in a high gloss paint but now i'm having second thoughts. so in the meantime, here are some beautiful pianos with character...have you ever painted a piano? share your thoughts with us...

Wow has it really been two months since my last post?! While I've had plenty of topics to blog about, the last couple months have been really busy, so now I have some catching up to do. First to check off my list...Beach Cruisers!! My bf and I have been looking for beach cruisers for the last couple weeks and can you believe we couldn't find what we wanted...AND we live in Laguna Beach! Wouldn't you think there'd be a huge selection? After not being able to make it into Newport Beach yesterday to celebrate the 4th, due to street closures, no parking within 8 miles and swarms of people on cruisers, I'm on a hunt for my bike!
