To celebrate World Industrial Design Day 2010, design students from Icsid Member Schools are put to the challenge to design a poster that illustrates the importance industrial design has in helping humanity. The poster can be a creative illustration or an illustration of the design of a product that captures this yearʼs theme <em>&#8220;Industrial Design: Humane solutions for a resilient world&#8221;</em>.</p><p>The competition is open exclusively to design students enrolled in an Icsid Member School at no fee. Industrial design students are encouraged to collaborate with other design disciplines in entering the competition.</p><p>The winning designer will have his/her poster utilised as the official World Industrial Design Day 2010 poster. href="http://www.jamesdysonaward.org/" target="_blank">James Dyson Award</a> is again searching for ingenious student designs and inventions.</p><p>The <a
href="http://www.jamesdysonaward.org" target="_blank">James Dyson Award</a> is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of designers and engineers. It’s run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to inspire young people about design engineering.<em> The James Dyson Award aims to support a large number of students by globally promoting great ideas and recognizing good quality entries.</em></p><h3>BRIEF</h3><p>Design something that solves a problem.</p><h3>PRIZES</h3><p>There will be one International Winner, and one National Winner in each country participating in the James Dyson Award 2010. The prizes the Winners and Finalists will receive include -</p><p><em>International Winner:</em><br
/> - £10,000 for the student or student team<br
/> - £10,000 for the student’s university department<br
/> - The opportunity to visit the Dyson facilities in either the UK or Malaysia<br
/> - A trophy from the James Dyson Foundation<br
/> <em><br
/> Two International Finalists:</em><br
/> - The opportunity to visit the Dyson facilities in either the UK or Malaysia.<br
/> - Certificate of Excellence from James Dyson Foundation<br
/> <em><br
/> National Winner:</em><br
/> - The opportunity to visit the Dyson facilities in either the UK or Malaysia<br
/> - Certificate of Excellence from James Dyson Foundation<br
/> Up to nine National Finalists from each country:<br
/> - Certificate of Excellence from James Dyson Foundation.</p><h3>WHO CAN ENTER?</h3><p>The James Dyson Award is open to <strong>product design, industrial design</strong> and engineering university level students (or graduates within 4 years of graduation) who have studied in the following countries: <strong>Australia</strong>, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, <strong>Japan</strong>, <strong>Malaysia</strong>, <strong>New Zealand</strong>, Russia, <strong>Singapore</strong>, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA.</p><h3>DEADLINE</h3><p>July 1, 2010.
