Disciple Now 2009 Registration Form

In order to attend our Disciple Now on July 31, 2009 through August 2, 2009, you MUST fill out and have a parent sign the registration form. You are welcome to download and fill out this form online and then print it out. Once a parent has signed the form, please turn it in to the office with your registration fee.

REMINDER: Every student will need an up-to-date, signed, and NOTARIZED medical release and permission form on top of the registration form. You can find those documents on this website as well, under “FORMS.”

This summer we are doing things a little different. We will NOT be meeting at the church on Wednesday nights. We will be having our youth worship service in church member homes. This is going to be a more relaxed, bible study and worship time. There will also be some hangout fellowship as well. So come on out with your friends and your Bibles to H2O: Chilled from 6 pm till 8 pm. July 1 & 8 we will be at the Rushton House, which is located on 4799 Penny Cove in Southaven. For directions see the calendar.

Some drinks and snacks will be provided, but not anything that would qualify as a meal.

Last Night!

Well it was the last official H2O service in the attic for this season we’ll be back the last few weeks in July to kick off the coming fall and the start of school and D-Now (sign up now) Michael set up last night’s service in a small group atmosphere that was really cool, very coffee house-ish. The band played in a more acoustic style and worship was incredible. Here’s the lineup! Don’t forget there’s no service this coming wednesday night!

This is an intense weekend filled with Bible Study, Sharing & Fellowship, Recreation, Good Food, and Fun. This retreat-like event will take place in the homes of our own church members. You will have the chance to build new relationships, and most importantly be challenged to grow spiritually. Some of the area’s finest college group leaders will be there prepared to offer you friendship, guidance, and encouragement. You also have a chance to spend a weekend with some of your closest friends, and the opportunity to develop new friends. “Disciple Now” is an intense experience that could very well change your life. Pick up a brochure at the church office TODAY! Dove Award Winner “December Radio” will be leading worship and NYC’s Tom Richter will be speaking, it will be a weekend to remember!

Well dispite the rain we had a fun night playing around in the attic, after an incredible time of worship we played several group games that were awsome! I personally liked the “Chorus Line Kick Ball” and I disliked Michael’s “Sneeze” game (lame) but, well, (mabey a little funny) if you missed out this week be sure and show up this coming Wednesday for a great service and some powerful testamonies, you don’t want to miss this! So did everyone run home last night and finish their homework and those late assignments you’ve been meaning to finish? Well, if you listened to Michael’s message last night you probably felt compelled to do so. Last night’s message was all about procrastination, as Michael put it, many of us are “GIFTED” procrastinators, let’s take the hint and work hard here at the end of the school year to make our assignments on time and MABEY even early. We had another wonderful night in the attic, thanks again to Caleb Rushton for filling in on guitar for us, Holden was out again for band festival last night, we look foward to seeing him back next week. Thanks also to Casey for being flexible and playing drums these past few weeks in Holden’s absence. The third installment of Michael’s series was great, he mentioned working together and networking with other teens to furthur the kingdom of Christ. Yep, thats right, graduation of our latest senior class is coming FAST and we’re gonna need your help! If you are a graduating senior and you plan on participating in the Sunday morning grad service you need to let us know. We are currently planning the service and we need to know how many students to plan for, contact the church office as soon as possible and ask for Mrs. Jo, let her know that you are a graduating senior and that you plan on attending the Sunday morning recognition service. We also need photos for the video, we need five to seven pictures (hard copys not digital) of each senior, you can drop them off to Mrs. Jo at the church office. Make sure you place your name on the back of each picture.

Well our second night of the “Do Hard Things” series just finished up and it was incredible! Much thanks to Michael for all his hard work and preparation for this series. The band wants to give a shout out to Caleb for a great job filling in for Casey on guitar last night and we thank Casey for his flexibility in moving to drums for the next few weeks while Holden is busy with the adult choir and school conflicts. We hope to see everyone back at the H2O service next week and BRING FRIENDS! For now here’s last nights lineup…

Discovering Desoto Hills Night 3

WOW! We had a packed house last night, over 100 people crammed into the attic to worship and praise our Lord. Bro. James once again did an outstanding job teaching us about Desoto Hill’s F.A.I.T.H. program. FAITH is the “tool” our church uses for witnessing, if you are interested in learning about FAITH or you would like to be a part of FAITH, contact Grant Stegall at the office (662-890-2452). ALSO if you were at the service last night you would surely remember that Casey’s amp basically exploded, he DID indeed blow all the tubes out and will hopefully have the amp repaired in the next few days, we shall see.
