Here I bring to you some of my first outfit shots using my new canon rebel t3 that Dave took. I'm still getting the hang of it, but already the quality difference is amazing! You know, besides me not being able to make a normal face in any of these photos.

I love the location in Huntington Beach where these were taken though. Especially around the time the sun sets. The sky just looks so vivid and that bridge has a certain charm and architectural beauty.

Next Monday I start up classes again and am already feeling a sense of dread. If only enjoyment and practicality coincided when it came to picking your major. All these business classes are killing me! Maybe I should think of it like a band-aid though. Be quick and just get it done.

Oh, and Winter, where have you gone? It was in the high 80's today in Southern California. Not that I'm trying to be a weather girl. That reports weather after the fact...

But goodness, I wish we actually got to feel the seasons around here.

So, brilliant news! I finally got myself a new camera! I'm infinitely excited about it. It was such a troublesome task to get it though. It was initially shipped to my front door last Saturday, but no one was home to sign for it, so I had to wait practically ages to go pick it up from the post office myself. It was torture!

But anywho, now it's here, right next to me actually as I type this. You know what else is here? This awesome little cat that Dave got me! Continuing on from that picture, if you have never had these little Hello Panda cookies before, you must. They are the best!

The last couple pictures are actually from the Anthropology store at the Grove in L.A. Took a day trip there with mister Oscar. As far as the Anthropology store goes, when I have my own place, I want it to look just like it! The decor is so pretty and organic feeling all at the same time, I love it. Also, if you are in the mood for some insanely massive breakfast and you're around L.A. do check out The Griddle Cafe. Let's just say I was very glad to have been walking around a lot that day after eating there. That chocolate chip crusted french definitely needed to be walked off!

We meet again

Bye, bye ombre. Maybe one day we shall meet again. But for now, I'm back to my dark roots. It's taking a bit of getting used to though. I mistakenly went with a shade of brown darker than my hair has ever been, but I'm getting around to really liking it. It is throwing off my liking for so much black in my outfits though. I certainly don't want to be giving off a Wednesday Addams vibe everyday. I mean, a couple days a week, that's cool, but let's not go overboard.
And, and! these circle skirts from american apparel are without a doubt my absolute favorite. If they weren't quite so pricey I'd most definitely buy a larger assortment of colors. Honestly, everyone and everything is after my bank account right now. I just know...

Glitter, shimmy, shine

Glitter ombre nails, yeah that happened. A bit of a mediocre job, but I honestly feel like it looks better in person. I used a few coats of a light pink O.P.I. Coney Island Cotton Candy first. I then threw on a light coat of O.P.I Rainbow Confetti on the top half of my nails. I did a couple heavier coats of the Confetti to build up the ombre effect.

And this perfume- my absolute favorite!

Wa Wa White Sheep

So, you see, this sweater has a back story. Actually, no, it's hardly a back story. It's just that when I first saw it I knew it was meant to be.

I'm a silly person. I'm perfectly okay with making a fool out of myself from time to time. There's this thing I like to do where I put my hands on the side of my head like ears and make a sheep noise. Sheep are just so darn cute, why wouldn't someone want to pretend to be one?? I mean, you know, at least those of us who aren't completely sane. But regardless, this is why when I spotted this sweater I knew I had to have it!

Moving on though, the bow I'm wearing in these shots is actually for sale in my etsy shop right now. I feel like I'm constantly fighting myself not to keep most of the little accessories I make. I've made quite a few more to add to shop inventory the last couple days, (including faux leather bow barrettes!) and just need to take pictures and post them up. Make sure to check back on the shop soon to see them for yourself!

And on a final note, these shoes, goodness gracious, I love them!

500 Days of Dinner

Yes, indeed, that is the bench. You know, it looks a lot different in the movie, 500 Days of Summer, but I suppose everything is supposed to look better in movies, visually and emotionally. Personally, I hate the plaque that they put on the back of it. It's so, I don't know, awfully cheesy. Done with a better camera and taken at a better angle though this first shot might have looked better. It was more of a matter of where you could take it though. Indie couples and just general people were overwhelming the place a bit, you know, waiting their turn to take a picture on the bench. The bench that Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt both sat on. But, eh, who could blame them. And when I said things certainly look better in the movies, I mean I really don't recall there being bums lined up on the grass in the park while watching the movie.

Other than that though, it was quite nice how the filming seemed to have taken place all around the same downtown location of Los Angeles. It was authentic feeling knowing that they didn't shoot in some more upscale place in L.A. pretending to be downtown. I certainly am going to make it a point to go back later in the month to see more landmarks from the movie. The record shop (which is actually just a movie rental place) and the fountain are definitely on my list!

I work in retail. It's easily something I get sick of. One thing I can never get sick of though are parks . They're beautiful, they're peaceful, and there is just so much in them that you just couldn't get out of walking through a mall. Crowds of people and name brand stores lined up one after the other after the other, definitely not my environment of choice. Walking along a quiet, foresty trail where all you hear is the crunch of leaves beneath your feet and the ducks in the distance--it somehow carries so much more life than those masses of people and passerbys.

A stroll in the park does good to the soul. Especially when done with the perfect person.

Eggy on baggey with Davey. That was my Saturday morning and I liked it. Even though he looks like he's about to punch me in this picture. Also, our pet Pokey is making his debut appearance on the blog. He's ecstatic! You'll be seeing plenty more of him, I guarantee it.

You know, I really feel that Old Navy gets a bad rap. I mean, I used to be one of those people who gave it a bad rap for quality and the outdated or poor styles they carried, simply out of ignorance because all that would come to mind to me before were those annoying Old Navy commercials with "fleece for the entire family." Recently though, I'll admit, I've purchased quite a few things from there that I really REALLY like. Like these sparkly flats! And this crew neck sweater is perfect and exactly what I had been looking for. It's actually the same one I featured in my last post all about crew neck sweaters!

Little bit of Litas in my life

Look at me, staying some what on top of my blog! Truly pat on the back worthy, I would say. It has still be quite busy for me, but I squeezed in some time to take some shots a couple days ago. I mean, I had to since I JUST received these beautiful woven Litas on Monday! Everything I've heard about these guys is completely true, they are ten times as amazing to see in person and are surprisingly extremely comfortable. You almost forget you're wearing heels! A friend of mine made a comment saying it looked like I was wearing baskets on my feet. All I have to say is, these are the best baskets ever!

Also, these tights from We Love Colors are incredible! They are very durable and at the same time not too thick. I've been wearing them so much I might have to order a good handful more to get me through the chillier seasons.

when you're this shiny! I want to own numerous bottles of this "Confetti" nail polish by O.P.I.!

Glittery nail polish like this is certainly one of those little things I look at and it just makes me smile. Maybe because it leaves me in a cloud of reminiscence of the days when I was an innocent mind at the age of 7, painting my nails with the assortment of cheap polishes that came in packs of five alongside those crayon-like lip sticks that never really gave off any stain other than transparent. The early days of nude lipstick possibly?

In the midst of hectic schedules and little time to breathe, I ironically have had some time to think. At what point I still can't figure out. In spare moments of thought, my mind is bum rushed with all things I haven't done, what I need to do. And I realized--a lot less of what I would like to do.

There are nights where the dark sky hugs the constellations and I sense displacement in my own being. Each burning star embraced in the depths of a slumbering blanket of universe, content with their own brightness. There is no competition. They are there. Each, one amongst trillions.

Life is so much more and so much less than a competition. You have developed, I have developed, into the people we are, the people who we spend every waking moment with in our heads.There is no need to compete with others, as they are them, and you are you. We are all different. And you are perfectly good as is.

Florals and Nirvana

Florals and band t's PLUS thigh high socks. I would willingly do it everyday. I've noticed I have a thing for legwear. Some more cozy, colored knee highs and thigh highs to add to my collection sounds extensively appealing at the moment.

I hope you all had a fun halloween! I did, but alas, no pictures of me in my catwoman costume feeling like a sausage. It was definitely one of those times where you're just having too much fun to bother with taking pictures. What did everyone else dress up as? xx

Does anyone else ever have the issue where they are determined to take outfit shots because you truly love your outfit that day but are pressed for time so you're rushed and then you load the photos onto your computer later that night and realize you don't like any of them but by that time you're already looking like a hot mess and the lighting is horrible. Yup, that happened to me.

A slightly unsuccessful return to my blog I suppose. My posts have been sporadic and honestly, it does bother me and I miss my routine, but I've been so terribly busy. I feel like I mention this ever post, but it's true! I miss you all!

Okay, now time to get back to my accounting homework. (Boy, do I despise accounting.)

Rainy day won't you stay a while

These photos are from the other day, oh, you know, when it was raining. As funny as it may sound, you have no idea how thrilled I am to be able to say that! It's finally starting to feel like autumn!

Which is also fantastic because it gives me a valid excuse to wear my trench coat I picked up last week. If I had to make a list of must haves for my closet, a trench coat would surely be included... even though I've gone my entire life without one... but that's besides the point.

I've been awfully busy. I like it, but then I don't. I don't know. I would just like a rainy day to myself to read and get lost in my own mind.

But for now I'm off to figure out what I'm going to wear to the Little Dragon show tonight in L.A. and bake up some chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake- recipe will be up soon!

Take a walk in my jeans

I'm not normally a jeans sort of girl. Maybe that owes itself more to the fact that I only have a couple pairs that I actually like. Regardless, I always feel the need to pick a look up with another statement piece, which in this case would be my shoes. Seriously though, shoes have such a huge impact on an outfit--they can really make it or break it. Even on lazy days where I just feel like wearing a t-shirt like this and putting my hair in a braid, they truly lend a certain something to an outfit, as well as interesting accessories, such as the beaded armband I'm wearing that I love!
