We had the pleasure of serving as the “month of” coordinators for Caroline & David’s wedding last weekend.  They also commissioned us to design and develop all of their paper products for the ceremony and reception.  Being track stars, they wanted us to bring a track and field theme to their reception! Each table was named with a different track and field event, and a pair of sneakers ”tied at the knot” adorned each place card.  Here are just a few snaps we took of their day. (By the way, we’ve never seen such a fit bridal party! I think 90% of them run or ran track!)

We were thrilled to work alongside Maureen Ford and can’t wait to see images she captured.  Maureen, thanks again for introducing us to the adorable couple!  The gorgeous flowers were designed by Madison Floral.

I originally bought these tissue poms for my bridal shower but they didn’t arrive quite in time, so I decided to recycle them for some wedding day decor.  The night before our wedding, while my future husband and his friends were out at the bar,  I was at my mom’s house decorating with my poms and taking pictures of all my details!  I am not SO much of a dork that I didn’t have  glass of wine  (ok maybe two…or three…) while decorating, but still, I have to laugh.  The poms came from Etsy (of course!). 

PS. Advice to brides… glass of good red wine = good night of sleep on the eve of your wedding!

So, as you all know, this past weekend was Jill’s wedding! She looked stunning. The flowers were amazing. The details were out of this world.  While Jill is off relaxing on her honeymoon (do you sense my jealousy?!), I thought I would share just a few pictures with our favorite readers (since so many of you have been asking me!).  We are dying to see the professional pictures from the insanely awesome Hitched Studios, but for now, you will have to accept my sub-par photography skills (usually Jill is the one documenting our weddings!).  I am sure Jill will post more details and maybe even some tutorials (I am sure you all want to know how she made those menus and table numbers) when she gets back!

How adorable are the table numbers? And the hand written note inside each escort card? Oh, and those menus, they were individually beaded by Jill’s own hands. Now that is a detail worth noting!

Congrats, Jill, on a well-planned beautifully detailed wedding! Now, get back to work… we’ve got other weddings to plan!

The DIY of Letterpress:

We heart letterpress. And don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing like the professional version; the double thick paper, the deep impression you can feel as you draw your hands over it, the rich color of the ink. Mmmm. But, this new at-home kit might just be good enough for some quick Holiday cards or a super-simple save-the-date. We’ve ordered one, and we’ll be sure to post some samples on our blog after it arrives!

My wedding invitations!

Yes, this love has been brewing for some time now thanks to the help of Trish & Rebecca at Soiree in Andover, MA. After my initial meeting with Trish & Rebecca, I knew they would be the perfect pair to help assist me in achieving my vision. Creating the perfect wedding invitation was very important to me. To some people (you can pretty much assume all male guests invited to your wedding) it is a piece of paper telling you where to show up and what you are going to eat. For anyone who spends hours obsessing over every little wedding detail, you know that a wedding invitation goes far beyond letting everyone know the date and time. A wedding invitation sets the tone of your wedding. From color scheme to overall feel, an invitation let’s your guests know what to expect on your big day…No pressure, right?

So with a little help of Trish & Rebecca (FYI, you must visit this store! Don’t be fooled by the website…this store is an invitation Mecca) I created an invitation that not only fits my personality, but also my budget!

No wedding planner would ever give up total control of any event, but Jill was able to relax a bit and let her mom and bridal party handle some of the shower details (really just some, she still insisted on doing the flowers and some baking)! The theme was “all things mini” and the intimate evening shower featured bite-sized appetizers and a dessert buffet.  How adorable are those miniature wedding cake brownies? And the heart-shaped angel food cakes? The best part was that all the guests got to take home delectable bites in clear boxes adorned with beautiful ribbons. Love it!

Seriously, these are possibly the most yummy creations I have ever tasted. Lydia makes all the marshmallows for them in scratch in small batches, so each one is sure to have that perfect gooey goodness.  There is a whole slew of options; marshmallows  wrapped around salty pretzel rods covered in chocolate (swoon),  marshmallows  sandwiched between chocolate covered sugar cookies (in a variety of shapes), and, of course, a whole bunch of variations on the traditional graham cracker variety.

What a great favor idea for a backyard, beach, or mountain wedding! Or, they would be super cute in a wedding guest welcome basket.
