As part of being included on the BBC’s Sound of 2012 list, Skrillex must have promised the corporation a certain amount of song premieres over the next few months, the first of which is Zedd‘s remix of Breakin’ A Sweat – played out tonight by Zane Lowe.

If you didn’t already know, Skrillex and the remaining members of The Doors collaborated last year on a track called Breakin’ A Sweat (It’s Alright), and this is the fantastic electro remix by his OWSLA label signee Zedd.

We covered the release of The Whip‘s new single Movement earlier in the week, and now we are pleased to say that we have got our hands on some tickets to give away for the homecoming Manchester leg of their UK tour which will be stopping at the Club Academy on the 29th February.

Bonus: The Whip – “Secret Weapon” (Alex Metrix Remix)

You guys already know what I think of M.I.A.‘s new Danja produced single Bad Girls, but the official music video takes it to a whole new level.

We knew that the cinematic genius Romain Gavras was in charge of the visuals (who was responsible for this masterpiece amongst others), so it wasn’t unfair to expect big things. Shot by the man himself in Ouarzazate, Morocco, the video taps in to the trend of performing wild dangerous car stunts that many of you will have seen in videos shot in eastern hemisphere countries.

M.I.A. had this to say about shooting the video:

“It was dope to  have so many people from so many different backgrounds speaking so many different languages come together to create something that we believed in.”

“I thought I was gonna die on the shoot when I saw the drifting.  It was a four day shoot so everyone was on edge the whole time specifically ME when I had to do bluesteel singing to the camera while the cars did doughnuts on the wet road ten feet away. In my mind I was thinking how I was gonna deliver the video to Vice with no legs.”

This is yet another Neon Gold affiliated act getting the remix treatment as the talented Gigamesh has worked his magic on Grouplove‘s new single Tongue Tied.

Gigamesh normally comes through with some very funky disco reworks, but this effort seems very pop orientated (which is a good thing). Grouplove must be very happy with what he has delivered here.

The last time we featured a Starsmith remix on the blog was late last year, but if we had to go back to find a remix of his that we loved we would be talking much earlier than that. Thankfully he was asked to remix St. Lucia‘s new single We Got It Wrong, and on this occasion he has made a true return to the form which made him one of the hottest properties in the industry back in 2010.

We’ve never been that keen on St. Lucia before, but we are more than happy to make an exception here.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs aka Orlando Higginbottom swung by Annie Mac‘s Radio 1 studio earlier tonight to give her the premiere of his new track Tapes & Money, taken from his forthcoming untitled album.

Tapes & Money is his trademark slice of laid-back club orientated music that is very easy on the ears.

Love it.

As Ed Sheeran gears up to release Drunk, the fourth single from his debut studio album +, the true extent of the remix package is slowly being unveiled with Doctor P being the latest artist to put his spin on four time Brit award nominee’s work.

The first thing that you will notice about the track is that it’s different to the rest of Doctor P‘s remix discography. This is something that has to be applauded, as forward thinking and personal progression I believe is a crucial attribute for successful artists. Whether this is Doctor P’s finest work is another matter, but he definitely gets credit here for doing it differently (especially the final third of the song).

The quality of this mp3 is incredibly poor, so I suggest you head over to iTunes to pre-order if you like it.

By now you all should know who Jacques Lu Cont is, but for those of you who don’t, it’s the tongue-in-cheek moniker of Stuart Price, the godlike three time Grammy-winning electronic music producer.

Stupidly when I first listened to his comeback single Church I didn’t rate it at all. I waited a day and then gave it a second listen, which is all it took to realise what a complete idiot I was. This song is huge.

We were expecting to hear Madonna‘s brand new comeback single Give Me All Your Luvin’ (which features both M.I.A. & Nicki Minaj) yesterday ahead of her much anticipated Superbowl performance on Sunday, and she has dutifully delivered.

Give Me All Your Luvin’ was produced by Frenchman Martin Solveig, and it bares all of his hallmarks as he has yet again delivered another catchy upbeat guitar driven electropop number.

The single seems to be polarizing opinions on YouTube, but it’s a lot better than I expected it to be. What do you guys think of it, hit or miss?
