One of the most anticipated mobile devices of 2010 not made by Apple is the BlackBerry Torch, a.k.a. the 9800, was officially unveiled today at a joint event held by AT&T and RIM in New York city.

This device combines the best of both worlds with it’s touch screen and slide out QWERTY keyboard.

AT&T will release the device on August 12th, and Rogers has announced it will have it in Canada within the coming weeks, while Bell and Telus expect to have it before the years end.

How could you get yourself your fifteen minutes of fame with a limit of only ten minutes of video on YouTube?

You don’t need to ask yourself this question anymore because as of today, July 29th 2010, you can now upload videos up to 15 minutes long instead of the previous 10 minute limit.

Now you’ll have an extra 5 minutes to film your kids laughing uncontrollably or to tell us about how the government is after you!

Why now?

Earliest this month RIM, creators of BlackBerry, took control of the domain name BlackPad.com, obviously this is far from confirming anything, but it does lead one to believe that BlackPad is at least one of the names that RIM is considering for their soon to be launched BlackBerry tablet computer.

This will be yet another competitor in the tablet PC wars going on, going against the Apple iPad, Dell Streak and HP Slate to name the top ones.

Being a Canadian company, we are eagerly awaiting the release of the BlackBerry device to see how it measures up against the rest, specially the iPad.
