Three years old! How much I can tell about every day of this long but at the same time short period of OUR life.
I said “OUR” because we still can’t imagine to be apart.

According to all modern researches and many scientists the most important part of our development is behind. What I can tell? I think it’s true. I feel it and I see it.

She was like a sponge and absorb all kind of information she met. Now she needs some motivation to learn something absolutely new. It doesn’t mean she has problem with learning. But it’s obvious that she is in other stage. I don’t think it’s bad. It’s just different.

She still likes all kinds of activities she used to enjoy before. No problems with letters, reading, writing, drawing, learning poems and songs and counting. Now I feel how wise it was to start learning all that things when she was just a baby:) I’m confident that no matter what field of science she choose she will easily become successful.

But still it’s too early to celebrate. Regressions happens with all kids and mine isn’t exception. It’s normal. I take them as a reminds to be more attentive to her.

There is one more good news. We happily left all the tantrums in the past. We worked out this situations and even when we have some “hot” situation we both behave better. If I were more tolerant we could pass this stage earlier. It’s only my fault and I wasn’t the best mother while she was having a tantrum. But I’m happy that now I’m better.

I’m sure that 3 years old toddler are all cute and adorable. It’s unmeasurable pleasure to spend time with them. They can feel with you, care for you, help you, joke with you, show how much they love you.

She was playing with her favorite flowers and suddenly said: “Please, turn on some good music. My flowers love to listen music.”

How does she know??

I’ve seen several films about researches that show a beneficial influence of music on flowers. But we never spoke about this with my daighter.

For me it’s only one more proof of children’s inborn intuition they use in their first years of life. That’s the proof that children don’t have enough experience and their logic isn’t developed well. Instead they use the native feeling of intuition that help to understand the objects around. That’s amazing!

We don’t use intuition because we think that logic can bring the truth.

And that’s why we fail. We fail in many things in our life only because we don’t listen to our hearts any more. We don’t know what we want. We forgot our dreams. We do what we should do because we are told that is the way the things should be. We are so sure about this that even don’t try to think about it.

Our children are born with the wisdom to the life the way it is and don’t listen to the other people who failed to keep this wisdom in the heart.

Let’s help our children to keep this wisdom and their hearts. It will help them to have the better life than we have. I didn’t tell that we can’t change our life. On the contrary. We should change it for better in order to show our children the way. We should be the change we want to see.

Boris Nikitin and his wife Elena are striking parents and amazing teachers, founders of new early childhood development method, creator of different developing toys and exercises. They dreamed about their own school but they had no possibility to open it because ot the peculiarities of Sovet system. Instead they created amazing family – outstanding example for parents of all the world how to make the children healthy and happy.

It’s hard to underestimate his role in the history of Russian pedagogics. He was the same for Russia, like Maria Montessori for Italy, Glenn Doman for USA, Masaru Ibuka for Japan. Perhaps he isn’t so famous in USA but I’m sure that it would be interesting to know about him for parents who do care about their children development.

The Nikitin’s family is well-known family in Russia and in all territory of former Soviet Union. By the example of their own family they showed how to help a child to become independent creative and harmonious developed person. Surely Boris and Elena Nikitiny were outstanding parents and teachers.

The first they were spoken about at 50th of XX century. In the small village Bolshevo people were shocked by their seven healthy talented and well developed children, who can walk on the snow with bare feet and do astounding gymnastic exercises. Till the 3 years children were able to read and solve simple mathematical problems. Everyone had a great desire to test children to know for sure of all rumours are true. But the school teachers held children up as an example for other students and all doctors said children were asolutely healthy.

The main principles of the early childhood development by Nikitin.

1. There are two extremes harmful for children development. First is too much attention, when parents don’t give enough time and space for being alone. Too much care, too many games are played, all day long the child is entertained and get use for the role of spectator.
The second is neglect. Communication with the child is only when he need to be fed up or washed, time go to bed or something else. This attitude cause emotional starvation and finally to the mental backwardness.

2. Freedom of choice. Children should choose what they like to do and how long to be busy with the activity. Children are never pressed to do something because the parents want it. Nikitin was against any artificial routine. Parents don’t choose but help to solve some difficult life problems for children. Parents advance the children and at the same time give them a push to development giving rich environment to explore and talking over everything around.

3. Attentive attitude of the parents. Children shouldn’t be left to themselves. Parents take part in all the activities.

4. The aim is not to teach children something earlier than other parents but to give all the objects kids are interested in to stimulate their further development.

What is development while painting for toddler?
Painting for toddler isn’t the same that we mean speaking about painting.
When we (adults) think of painting we think about some image and embodiment it on the paper by the help of brush and colors.


We should remember that toddlers see the world in different way. I would say that they don’t see everything completely different, they just see it at the other angle.

Painting for toddlers is like experiment and rather a process than a result. They never know how the picture is looking that they are going to paint. They are playing with colors, explore the shades, color themselves and all they can reach around. Paints for them are like alive creatures that can move and speak, retelling awesome and fantastic stories. And if you want to interfere in and say with the expert look “Bears are never green”, you’ll spoil magic moment.

The development while painting is very essencial part of the early child development, because it is not the same as playing with toys. When playing toys a toddler uses already made toys. He is consumer.
But when playing with the paints a child learns how to create something. And this is more important in all developmental methods.

Some sceptic may say that their toddlers (especially at the age of 12-24 month) don’t paint at all but just get dirty with paints. In some points this is true. But it’s easier to say that something doesn’t true than to try to understand. I do believe that even in this early age them had a lot of emotions and impressions that they express playing with colors. Just don’t be afraid to believe.

One of our games with colors.

Red meets Yellow and say:
– Hello!
– Hello!
-Who are you?
- I’m Yellow. What is your name
– I’m Red. Let’s play and dance together!
– Oh, it would be really nice to play and dance together.
– What is your favorite song?
– My favorite song is (say your toddler’s favorite song)
- Oh, great! Let’s dance!
(And Red and Yellow starts to mix and turn into the Orange)
– We are friends and we are Orange!

The story is very simple and you can change it the way you like.

I don’t know if this game has other name but we call it “islands”. For this simple toddler game you need to make a lot of islands. Usually we take pillows or big puzzles. Like on the picture.

Your task is to cross the room walking or jumping only on islands.

Say to your toddler that everywhere is water and if he steps into water he’ll wet the feet.
Though the game is very simple from the first view it’s interesting and very developing because it develops imagination and vestibular apparatus. Besides it’s fun to do something together.

The first years of life our beautiful children are very important because they form a base for the whole life. All parents care about the first impressions of their kids and it’s really wise.

The first baby’s impression starts with the nursery. That’s why baby nursery ideas are so important. Only positive good impression can stimulate your child to quick happy development. All things a child sees in the nursery are very important. That’s why we all are trying to find some very interesting unique baby nursery ideas for our children to have only good emotions and impression.

It’s a real pleasure to decorate your baby nursery. A stylish crib bedding and nursery decor make the memories about childhood are so sweet. You may choose your theme according your baby’s sex. But, personally, I don’t think all things for kids should be pick out according to sex. Boys and girls in many cases like the same things though they can have some difference in likes and behavior. But I would say that the differences are based on some personal preferences. Neutral theme for nursery is still very beautiful. You can paint something yourself by your own hand or use stickers. That will make a magic effect on your baby when she or he starts to examine the surrounding. Every detail is important. Just enjoy creating a super nursery for your super baby!

All toddlers are very curious about everything happening around them. So why not to show some interesting physics experiments for toddlers? I think it’s just a high time because it will help to understand the things around better.

To tell about everything is good but sometimes it’s better to show some simple experiments to explain how the things works.

Possibility to see, to smell, to touch and to take part is making a better favor than thousands developing flesh cards and videos. Proved by life.

Today I propose you this simple demonstration of crystals grown from usual salt, which is very easy and interesting for kids of all ages. (Even for parents. I’ve made the first crystal in my life.)

All you need is a cup and some salt water on the bottom of the cup. Show you toddler the cup with salted water and put it in some warm place for some days. When the water dry out you’ll see such crystals on the bottom like on my photo.

It’s very interesting to explore with toddler the shapes and patterns on the crystals of salt you’ve grown in the cup. You can even lick them to know the taste.

You can make it from usual salt you use for cooking but I used a sea water for our crystals.

How to help toddler to review the letters without making review boring? Just pretend you don’t want toddler to show you some knowledge. Toddlers like to do everything on the contrary. They will do everything you don’t want them to do and will say “no” to everything you want them to do.

All letters are learned, the first words are read, but when reading became boring let’s put books away and have fun eating sweet gingerbread cookies with favorite letters.

Just ask what letter he or she would like to eat:)

Even food ideas for toddler can make us creative.

But what should little toddler do when it’s so long till New Year but Christmas tree is wanted so much?

Of course decorate some other tree (or plant), for example, Aloe.

Old wisdom

Sesil Lupan is a person I’m really impressed with. She is a mother who cares about her children development and doesn’t want to trust the most precious years of her children childhood to someone else. Usually the parent are so tired of parenting that they gladly give children to some educational center to have some lazy free time. I remember one saying. Weariness exist only in our mind. It’s really true.

I do think that early development should be conducted by the people who love a child very much – the parents. No one feel your child better than you do.

Sesil Lupan doesn’t follow blindly to any methods. She took only the best in different early child education methods which suits her children best of all. You’ll never find a center where the same will be done for your children.

No matter where you’ll go you’ll be proposed to follow already prepared program, but how do they know what is the best for your toddler.

Though all toddler’s have a lot in common they are all different. It’s natural. They have different interests and desires. Early education can be based only on that interests and desires.

Sesil Lupan took a lot from Doman but her way of thinking is a little bit different. She doesn’t agree that a child should be “stuffed” with information like Glenn Doman propose to do. You can’t teach everything with only a cards.

I know that Doman method is working because I’ve tried it with my daughter and I’m very happy with results we have. But I’ve also seen that a toddler doesn’t need so strict schedule of cards slide show. We stop when we want and make long brakes but it still work. If I show cards to my toddler I do it only one time a day.

My toddler loves to read the old cards too but according to Doman it’s not a good idea. Sometimes we add more cards than Doman advised and sometimes we don’t add any cards at all. I make my choice according to mood and desire of my toddler. Sometimes she doesn’t want to read and we don’t read. Sometimes she likes to be busy with painting all week. And I don’t even propose to read. Sometimes we read all the evening.
The same we do with other activities.
Like Sesil Lupan I choose the most interesting from different early development methods. Doman advise you activities according to the age or stage of development. Sesil Lupan’s activities only based on interests. I don’t copy her but I’m very close to her thoughts about the way early education should be conducted.

I’m sure every parent will find a lot of interesting while reading Sesil Lupan’s books.
