For some months now it has been somewhat of a confused idea that Sony are to make available a revised 80GB PS3 console for the UK market.

Customers all over Europe are vying for this amazing console with a much larger capacity hard drive. The UK market at the time of writing currently has available the 40GB and 60GB PS3 version which is some way short of the capacity of the big brother version.

But what is in the hard drive size? Well, certainly the larger capacity consoles do provide you with additional storage power however under normal circumstances 40GB is sufficient for most.

Back to the 80GB version then, are we going to see this in the UK anytime soon? Well just before Christmas 2007 Sony Europe were purported to say that 'there is absolutely no Sony Playstation 3 80GB versions planned for Europe in 2008'. Things do change over time and perhaps this will be one of those changes however, certainly 2008 is not going to yield any PS3 80gb versions so you had better make do with either the 40gb or 60gb versions.
