Beverly had taught me to make it while I was in high school but I never wrote down the recipe and haven’t been able to reproduce anything similar until now. Kristin over at Yellow Bliss Road had a similar recipe that I’ve modified to come in line with what Beverly had taught me all those years ago.

Education is included as part of my blog for two major reasons, first being that I grew up in the house of an educator and have spent the vast majority of my life promoting vocational and then career technical education. I am a product of SkillsUSA, a career technical student organization that promotes the development of a skilled workforce throughout the United States. Secondly, I have always wanted the opportunity to help strengthen our public education system through the use of technology and innovative thinking.

In my position as the Assistant Executive Director of Communications and Information Technology at California School Boards Association (CSBA) I hope to accomplish that goal. Ideas such as partnership academies and the newer “flipped” learning model excite me as they prove that education isn’t just about the status quo. We have to be willing to try new things and be intelligent about abandoning those ideas that are not necessarily working.

I’m always interested in what others have to say so feel free to contact me at:
