Multi-Monitor Support for Boxee on Windows

Boxee is awesome, I completely love it. One of the only things that really kills me is a lack of native multi-monitor support. As most of us the HDTV (or SD tv for some) is a secondary monitor to our PC and we don’t have a dedicated HTPC. Though I want one :) Anyways, I was hanging out on the #boxee irc channel and one of the users shared a great fix.

More after the break….

Fill PDF Forms Using Javascript and the Querystring

The other day I was asked if you can pass querystring variables into a PDF form. At first I was really skeptical, that is until I found out you can embed Javascript within the PDF. There is not much documentation on this floating around the interweb, which is the reason I am writing this article. Adobe has a section in the acrobat livedocs going over the basics. That combined with this forum post was enough to get me rolling…

Submit Pandora Songs to Last.FM

Now I love last.FM for it’s scrobbling feature and all it’s API goodness but unfortunately Pandora is so much better at finding similar music. I’ve been really trying to merge all my music into last.FM so i can track my habits. At home I use Winamp which was easy but at work Pandora is my usual music player. So I found the following extension to integrate last.fm and pandora…

Today we are going to talk Firefox. I’d venture to say the best browser available (sorry safari/webkit/apple/steve jobs). In this article, I’m simply going to showcase my personal favorite extensions. Most are aimed at web development/design but other are just plain useful.

The other day at work, I thought I would see how steam run on my work computer. Well, my ports were all blocked by the network except the normal 80, 22, 21 etc. I then thought maybe I could simply tunnel my traffic through my SSH connection…

The Gmail development team has just released their latest feature, themes for Gmail. Previously, 3rd party browser addons, such as Better Gmail were required to give Gmail a pretty facelift…

When Google released the redesign of the iGoogle homepage, I took one look and immediately tried to find a better theme. I applied Carbon Fiber by Brandon Payton and it fit my needs, but of course my obsession with getting exactly what I wanted prevailed and I started poking at the source code in Firebug. I ended up with what I wanted and thought I would share it with all you fine folks.

How to install

Download and install the Carbon Fiber over at Google

Head over to Userstyles.org and add my script into Firefox (stylish/greasemonkey)or Opera.

Suggestions Welcome!

Mayhem Ink Tattoo Launched

I am quite pleased to announce that my latest project is completed and made it’s public debut today.

This project, build on the beautiful Symphony CMS using XML/XSLT and php, features a robust backend that allows the shop manager to manage and monitor all aspects of the website, while always producing valid XHTML and CSS output. Aside from the CMS itself, the site’s galleries for each tattoo and piercing artist are directly tied into the shop’s Flickr account, making it easy to manage and update as new items are added.

Stop waiting around and check out Mayhem’s new website !
