A Candle !!!

2020-03-05T01:37:00.001-08:00

A Candle !!!

One evening a man took a small candle from a box and began to climb a long winding stairway. "Where are we going?" asked the candle. "We're going up higher than a house to show the ships the

way to the harbor."

"But no ship in the harbor could ever see my light," the candle said. "It is so very small." "If your light is small,"

the man said "just keep on burning brightly and leave the rest to me."

When they reached the top of the

long stairs, they came to a large lamp.

Then he took the little candle and lit

the lamp. Soon the large polished mirrors behind the lamp sent beams of fight

out across the miles of sea.

We are God's candle. Our job is to keep on shining. The success of our work is

in His hands. A tiny candle or match

can start a forest fire.

The little flame of your good example can actually change the lives of others without you knowing it.

Be a light to them like the beacon light in the story which guided the ships

to safe harbor.

The Story Of Pearls !!!

2020-03-05T01:34:00.002-08:00

The Story Of

Pearls !!!

Pearls are a product of pain.

When a grain of sand pierces

the shell of an oyster, all the otherwise dormant resources within the tiny oyster respond

to the foreign irritant by caring for that sensitive spot. Over time, the sand particle is covered by healing fluids, and the wound becomes a pearl.

That’s true for you, too.

When hardships invade your life, allow God’s Spirit to shape your response. Don’t be bitter.

Don’t rush ahead of His plan.

Rest in Him. Allow Him time

to turn that irritation into an opportunity for your growth –

and watch a beautiful pearl

emerge from your set of circumstances.

When you flee temptation,

be sure you don’t leave a forwarding address.

10 Guidelines From: God To: All His Children

2020-03-05T01:26:00.001-08:00

10 Guidelines

From: God

To: All His Children !!!

Effective Immediately:

Please be aware that there

are changes you need

to make in your life.

These changes need to be completed in order that

I may fulfill my promises

to you to grant you peace,

joy and happiness in this life.

I apologize for any inconvenience, but after

all that I am doing, this

seems very little to ask of you.

I know, I already gave

you 10 Commandments.

Keep them, but follow

these guidelines as well.

1. Quit Worring

Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I

am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2. Put It On The List

Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem.

I can't help you until you

turn it over to me. And, although my to-do-list

is long, I am, after all, God.

I can take care of anything you put into my hands.

In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of

a lot of things for you that

you never even realize.

3. Trust Me

Once you've given your burdens to me, quit trying

to take them back. Trust in me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on my list. Problem with finances? Put it on my list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For my sake, put it on my list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. Leave It Alone

Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think

I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now?

It's simple. You gave me your burdens, and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that

if I give you these problems back, you will be right

back where you started?

Leave them with me

and forget about them.

Just let me do my job.

5. Talk To Me

I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget

the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing

I want you to never forget. Please don't forget to talk

to me - OFTEN! I love you.

I want to hear your voice.

I want you to include me in the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with me. I want to be your dearest friend.

6. Have Faith

I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in me that I know what I'm doing. Trust me, you wouldn't want the view from my eyes.

I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust me. Although I have a much bigger task than you,

it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard

can trust be?

7. Share

You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget?

That rule still applies.

Share with those who are

less fortunate than you.

Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who

are mourning. Share your faith with those who

have none.

8. Be Patient

I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have

so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes me a little longer than you expect to handle something

on my to-do-list? Trust in

my timing, for my timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only

six days, everyone thinks

I should always rush,

rush, rush.

9. Be Kind

Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try

to get along, for my sake.

I created each of you different in some way. It would be

too boring if you were all identical. Please know I love each of your differences.

10. Love Yourself

As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself?

You were created by me to

be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself.

It makes my heart ache

when I see you so angry

with yourself when things

go wrong. You are very precious to me.

Don't ever forget that!

With all my heart,

I love you,

GOD

May God Bless You, Your Family,

& Your Friends the Way He Has Blessed Us.

The Boiling Frog Syndrome..!!!

The Boiling Frog

Syndrome..!!!

Put a frog in a vessel of water and start heating the water… As the temperature of

the water rises, the frog is able to adjust its body temperature accordingly… The frog keeps on adjusting with increase in temperature…

Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog is not able to adjust anymore…

At that point the frog decides to jump out…

The frog tries to jump but is unable to do so, because it lost all its strength in adjusting

with the water temperature…

Very soon the frog dies. What killed the frog?

Many of us would say the boiling water…

But the truth is what killed the frog was

its own inability to decide when it

had to jump out…

We all need to adjust with people and situations, but we need to be sure when

we need to adjust and when we need to

confront / face..There are times when

we need to face the situation and take

the appropriate action…

If we allow people to exploit us physically, mentally, emotionally or financially,

they will continue to do so…

We have to decide when to jump…

Let us jump while we still

have the strength !!

Think on It !!

A Small Story With Powerful Lesson (Moral)!!!

Read this small story;

Hope that makes a BIG

change in YOU

The Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it

up for all to see & asked the students “How much do you think this glass weighs?”

’50gms!’….. ’100gms!’ …..’125 gms’ …the students answered.

“I really don’t know unless

I weigh it,” said the professor,

“but, my question is:

What would happen if I

held it up like this for

a few minutes?”…. .

‘Nothing’ …..the students said.

‘Ok what would happen if

I held it up like this for an hour?’ the professor asked.

‘Your arm would begin to ache’ said one of the student

“You’re right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?” “Your arm could go numb; you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis

& have to go to hospital

for sure!”….. Ventured

another student & all the students laughed

“Very good. But during

all this, did the weight

of the glass change?”

Asked the professor.

‘No’…. Was the answer.

“Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?”

The students were puzzled.

“What should I do now to come out of pain?” asked professor again. “Put the glass down!” said one of the students

“Exactly!” said the professor.

Life’s problems are something like this.

Hold it for a few minutes in

your head & they seem OK.

Think of them for a long time

& they begin to ache.

Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you.

You will not be able

to do anything.

It’s important to think of the challenges or problems in

your life, But EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to ‘PUT THEM DOWN’ at the end of every day before you go to sleep…

That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue,

any challenge that

comes your way!

Moral

So, when you start your day today, Remember friend to

‘PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY!

God's Song!!!

Wishing to encourage her

young son's progress on the piano, a mother took her boy to

a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, the mother spotted

a friend in the audience and walked down the aisle

to greet her.

Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his

way through a door marked

"NO ADMITTANCE."

When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to

her seat and discovered that

the child was missing.

Suddenly, the curtains parted

and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage.

In horror, the mother saw her

little boy was sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

At that moment, the great

piano master made his entrance,

quickly moved to the piano,

and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

Then, leaning over,

Paderewski reached down

with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon,

his right arm reached around

to the other side of the child and he added a running obligato. Together, the old master and

the young novice transformed

a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized that they couldn't recall what

else the great master played –

only the classic

"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

That's the way it is with God.

What we can accomplish on

our own is hardly noteworthy.

We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music. However, with the hand

of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful. Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can

hear the voice of the Master,

whispering in your ear,

"Don't quit. Keep playing."

Feel His loving arms around you. Know that His strong hands are there helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces, and He'll always be there to love and guide you

on to great things.

& Your Friends the Way He Has Blessed Us.

Push!!!

2020-03-05T01:08:00.003-08:00

Push!!!

A man was sleeping at night in

his cabin when suddenly his room

filled with light, and God appeared.

The Lord told the man He had work for him to do and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.

The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did, day after day. For many years,

he toiled from sun up to sun down with his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface

of the unmoving rock, pushing with all of his might. Each night, the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Since the man was showing discouragement, Satan decided to enter the picture

by placing thoughts into the weary mind: "You have been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn't moved." giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.

"Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort,

and that will be good enough."

And that is what he planned to do. However, one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord. "Lord," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting

all my strength to do that which

you have asked. Yet, after all this time, have not even budged

that rock by half a millimeter.

What is wrong? Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately, "My friend,

when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now, you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition, you have grown much, and your abilities

now surpass that which you used

to have. Yet you haven't moved

the rock. But your calling was to

be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in

My wisdom. This you have done. Now I, My friend, will move

the rock."

At times, when we hear a word

from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains.

Dying To Self

Dying To Self!!!

When you are forgotten or neglected and you don’t hurt with the insult, but your heart is happy—that is dying to self.

When your advice is disregarded, your opinions ridiculed, and you refuse to let anger rise in your heart, and take it all in patient, loving silence—that is dying to self.

When you lovingly and patiently bear disorder, irregularity, tardiness,

and annoyance… and endure

it as Jesus endured it—

that is dying to self.

When you never care to refer to yourself in conversation

or record your own good works, or itch for praise after an accomplishment, when

you can truly love to be unknown… that is

dying to self.

When you can see your

brother or sister prosper

and can honestly rejoice with him, and feel no envy even though your needs

are greater— that is

dying to self.

When you are content with

any food, any offering,

any raiment, any climate,

or any society— that is

dying to self.

When you can take correction, when you can humbly submit inwardly as well as outwardly, with no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heart— that is

dying to self

A Lesson In Faith – The Charles Blondin Story

2020-03-04T20:59:00.002-08:00

A Lesson In Faith

– The Charles Blondin Story!!!

The amazing story of

Charles Blondin, a famous French tightrope walker,

is a wonderful illustration

of what true faith is.

Blondin's greatest fame came

on September 14, 1860, when he became the first person to cross

a tightrope stretched 11,000 feet (over a quarter of a mile) across the mighty Niagara Falls.

People from both Canada and America came from miles away to see this great feat.

He walked across, 160 feet above the falls, several times... each time with a different daring feat - once in a sack, on stilts, on a bicycle, in the dark, and blindfolded. One time he even carried a stove and cooked

an omelette in the middle

of the rope!

A large crowd gathered and

the buzz of excitement ran along both sides of the river bank.

The crowd “Oohed and Aahed!” as Blondin carefully walked across - one dangerous step after another - pushing a wheelbarrow holding a sack of potatoes.

Then a one point, he asked for

the participation of a volunteer.

Upon reaching the other side,

the crowd's applause was louder

than the roar of the falls!

Blondin suddenly stopped

and addressed his audience:

"Do you believe I can carry

a person across in this

wheelbarrow?"

The crowd enthusiastically yelled, "Yes! You are the greatest tightrope walker in the world.

We believe!"

"Okay," said Blondin,

"Who wants to get into

the wheelbarrow."

As far as the Blondin story goes,

no one did at the time!

This unique story illustrates

a real life picture of what faith actually is. The crowd watched these daring feats. They said they believed. But... their actions proved they truly

did not believe.

Similarly, it is one thing for

us to say we believe in God. However, it's true faith when

we believe God and put our faith and trust in His Son,

Jesus Christ.

Giving When It Really Counts

2020-03-04T20:53:00.003-08:00

Giving When It Really Counts!!!

An eight-year-old boy had a younger sister who was dying

of leukemia, and he was told that without a blood transfusion she would die. His parents explained to him that his blood was probably compatible with hers, and if so,

he could be the blood donor.

They asked him if they could

test his blood. He said sure.

So they did and it was a good match. Then they asked if he would give his sister a pint of blood, that it could be her only chance of living. He said he would have to think about it overnight.

The next day he went to his parents and said he was willing

to donate the blood. So they took him to the hospital where he was put on a gurney beside his six-year-old sister. Both of them

were hooked up to IVs. A nurse withdrew a pint of blood from

the boy, which was then put in

the girl’s IV. The boy lay on his gurney in silence while the blood dripped into his sister, until the doctor came over to see how

he was doing. Then the boy

opened his eyes and asked,

“How soon until I start to die?”

Thoughtful Reflections

We have to learn how to die

before we die so that when

we die we won’t die! Dying is

about giving, giving your life!

Rarely is one asked to give up

his own life for someone else.

Yet, we are invited daily to

make decisions to love and forgive one another. This withholding of judgement, giving the benefit

of the doubt, unconditional forgiveness are all part of

the “dying before we die”.

Fullness of life is about giving. Giving freely to the world,

what has been given to us –

to give. Giving with

childlike innocence.

Obstacles On Our Path

Obstacles On Our Path!!!

In ancient times, a King

had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.

Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone

out of the way.

Then a poor farmer came

along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the he laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded After the farmer picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed

a purse lying in the road

where the boulder had been.

The purse contained many

gold coins and a note from

the King indicating that the gold was for the person

who removed the boulder

from the roadway.

Thoughtful Reflections:-

Between the great things we cannot do and the small things we will not do, the danger is that we shall do nothing.

Adolph Monod

The farmer learned what many others never understand,

that every obstacle, every single crisis, the storms in

life and all experiences of adversity present an opportunity for growth.

In life, we are presented with similar obstacles. Whether

we blame someone for it and complain about it or like the farmer we take responsibility for it is a matter of choice.

If we are wise and take up responsibility for the obstacles presented to us, we are sure

To “find gold” once

the obstacle is gone!

The Spirit of Giving

The Spirit of Giving!!!

A poor man was tired of

being in poverty, so he

asked a Zen master,

“I fail no matter what

business I do.

Why am I so poor?”

The Zen master

answered him,

“It is because you do

not learn to give!”

The poor man said,

“But, I am penniless now,

what can I give?”

The Zen master replied,

“Let me teach you seven

ways you can give without needing any money

at all!”

They are as follow:

(1) The Gift of Smiles:

Make someone day by giving them a sweet smile that expresses your unconditional kindness. Smile is an action of love and

a beautiful gift from

your heart.

(2) The Gift of Kind Words:

Give praise, cheers, comfort

and motivation to others to make them happy, give them hope

and encourage them

to perform good deeds.

(3) The Gift of Love:

Open up your heart to others

and give unconditional help,

love, care and concern

to everyone.

(4) The Gift of a

Compassionate Gaze:

Look at others with gentle

eyes of love and goodness.

(5) The Gift of Equanimity:

Treat everyone equally well, including your enemies.

Give respect and be courteous towards all people. We do

not distinguish between friend, enemy or stranger, but regard every sentient being as equal.

The real or best form of

revenge is forgiveness.

(6) The Gift of Energy:

Give your labor and physical strength to help others.

(7) The Gift of Offering:

When someone needs a seat

in public transport, you can

offer your seat to the weak, pregnant or old.

The Zen master added,

“If you can perform the

above seven acts of “giving”

then your life will be transformed, your energy

will become auspicious, prosperous and

attract wealth.”

Upon hearing his words of wisdom, the poor man prostrated to thank him. He followed his advice to perform these seven

acts of “giving”. Shortly after,

he became well respected

and successful in life.

would come out?”

juice could come out of it?”

Student:

“Of course not. It’s a lemon!”

Teacher:

“How about apple juice?

Do you think apple juice could

Student:

“Of course not.

Teacher:

“How about grapefruit juice?

Do you think grapefruit juice

Teacher:

“Tell me then, what

would come out of it?”

Student:

“Lemon juice, of course.”

Teacher:

“Why? Why is it that

when you squeeze a lemon,

lemon juice comes out?”

Student:

“Well, it’s a lemon and

that’s what’s inside.”

Thoughtful Reflections:-

Imagine that the lemon is you.

Imagine someone squeezing you,

puts pressure on you, says something you don’t like, offends you. What comes out when life squeezes you? When someone hurts or offends you?

If anger, pain and fear come out

of you, it’s because that’s what’s inside. It doesn’t matter who does the squeezing—your mother, your brother, your children, your boss, the government. If someone says something about you that you

don’t like, what comes out of you

is what’s inside. And what’s inside is up to you, it’s your choice.

Don’t Forget

The Best!!!

Once upon a time there was

a shepherd boy tending a few straggling sheep on the side of

a mountain. One day as he cared for his sheep he saw at his feet

a beautiful flower – one that was more beautiful than any he had ever seen in his life. He knelt down upon his knees and scooped the flower in his hands and held

it close to his eyes, drinking in

its beauty. As he held the flower close to his face, suddenly he heard a noise and looked up before him. There he saw a great stone mountain opening up right before his eyes. And as the sun began to shine on the inside

of the mountain, he saw the sprinkling of the beautiful gems and precious metals that

it contained.

With the flower in his hands,

he walked inside. Laying

the flower down, he began

to gather all the gold and silver and precious gems in his arms. Finally with all that his arms could carry, he turned and

began to walk out of that

great cavern, and suddenly

a voice said to him,

“Don’t forget the best.”

Thinking that perhaps he

had overlooked some choice

piece of treasure, he turned around again and picked up additional pieces of priceless treasure. And with his arms literally overflowing with wealth, he turned to walk

back out of the great mountainous vault.

And again the voice said,

“Don’t forget the best.”

But by this time his arms were filled and he walked on outside and all of a sudden, the precious metals and stones turned to dust. And he looked around

in time to see the great stone mountain closing its doors again. A third time he heard

the voice, and this time

the voice said,

“You forgot the best.

For the beautiful flower is the key to the vault

of the mountain.”

Thoughtful Reflection:-

The boy forgot the best, and lost

a treasure. We too can lose

a treasure. We get so busy,

that in our haste we miss things in life that are just waiting

to be enjoyed.

As William Feather

(1889-1981) said,

“Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because

they didn’t stop to enjoy it.”

Remember:

“Nothing should be done in

haste except catching fleas.”

Push That Cow Down The Cliff

Push That Cow

Down The Cliff!!!

A long time ago, a Monk set

out on his travels accompanied

by his assistant, a Brother.

Night was falling when the Monk told the Brother to go on ahead to find lodging. The Brother searched the deserted landscape until he found a humble shack, in the middle of nowhere. A poor family lived in the hovel. The mother, father and children were dressed in rags.

The Brother asked if he and the Monk could spend the night in their dwelling. “You are most welcome

to spend the night,” said the father of the family. They prepared a simple meal consisting of fresh milk, cheese and cream for the Brother and the Monk. The Brother felt moved by their poverty and even more by their simple generosity.

When they finished eating,

the Monk asked them how they managed to survive in such a

poor place, so far away from the nearest neighbors and town.

The wife looked to her husband

to answer. In a resigned tone of voice he told them how they managed to survive. ‘We have

one cow. We sell her milk to our neighbors who do not live too far away. We hold back

enough for our needs and to

make some cheese and cream-

that is what we eat.”

The next morning, the Brother

and the Monk said their good-byes and set out to continue their journey. After the Monk and the Brother had walked a few miles,

the Monk turned to the

Brother and said,

“Go back and push the

cow off the cliff!”

“Father,”

the Brother replied,

“they live off the cow.

Without her, they will

have nothing.”

The Monk repeated his order

“go back and kill the cow.”

With a heavy heart, the Brother returned to the hovel. He worried about the future of the family because he knew they depended

on the cow to survive. His vow of obedience bound him to follow

the orders of the wise Monk.

He pushed the cow off the cliff.

Years later, the young Brother became a Monk. One day he found himself on the same road where he found lodging so many years ago. Driven by a sense of remorse

he decided to visit the family.

He rounded the curve in the road and to his surprise; he saw a splendid mansion, surrounded by landscaped gardens, in the place where the hovel used to be.

The new house exuded a sense

of prosperity and happiness.

The Monk knocked on the door.

A well-dressed man answered.

The Monk asked, “what ever became of the family who used to live here? Did they sell the property to you?” The man looked surprised and said he and his family had always lived on the property. The Monk told him how he had stayed in a hovel on

the same spot, with his master the old Monk. ‘What happened to the family that lived here?” he asked.

The man invited the Monk to stay with him as his guest. While they ate, the host explained how the family’s fortune changed.

“You know Father, we used to

have a cow. She kept us alive.

We didn’t own anything else.

One day she fell down the cliff and died. To survive, we had to start doing other things, develop skills

we did not even know we had.

We were forced to come up with

new ways of doing things.

It was the best thing that

ever happened to us!

We are now much better

off than before.”

Thoughtful Reflection:-

always did, you will always

get what you always got’

– Henry Ford

Do you have a cow you need to

push off the cliff? What is its name?

What are some of the things and habits you have been relying on

for a very long time, things and behaviors that are perhaps holding you back?

"Take It To The Cross"

From A Child’s Point Of View

2020-03-04T18:48:00.004-08:00

From A Child’s Point Of View!!!

On a busy Saturday morning,

Dad and his five-year-old son Martin made a bargain:

If Martin behaved himself

while Dad ran some errands

at the home improvement store, Dad would take Martin

to a movie.

Deal!!!

But the deal quickly fell apart. Martin began to pout and whine as soon as he and Dad walked into the store, making it impossible for Dad to get anything done.

“I don’t think you’re holding up your end of the bargain, buddy,” Dad said. “We had a deal.

Remember?”

The little boy nodded tearfully.

Dad noticed that Martin’s shoelaces had come undone

and knelt down to tie them.

Martin sniffled and grasped the sleeve of his father’s sweatshirt, holding on. While Dad was still on his knees, he noticed the chaos around them: Shoppers nudged and pushed one another in an effort to get through the aisles; an hysterical mother called

out for a lost child; a display

of boxed items tumbled to

the floor because a distracted customer wheeled a cart into it.

And poor Martin kept getting hit in the shoulders and head with purses and bags as people brushed passed him.

From that vantage point,

Dad realized how overwhelming and terrifying all of this

chaos was to a five-year-old.

He felt badly for not having been more sympathetic to his son’s plight and realized that Martin had been a champ in trying to brave his way through it all.

Shoes tied, Dad lifted up Martin and placed him on his shoulders. “Hey, buddy, what do you say we get out of here and do this shopping some other time?”

“Are you sure, Daddy?” Martin asked, trying to gauge why the plan was changing.

“Yup. Positive.

Let’s go to that movie.”

Thoughtful Considerations:-

The Dominican theologian

and mystic Meister

Eckhart preached that

“Whatever God does, the first outburst is always compassion.”

Compassion is the ability and

the willingness to enter the chaos, the pain, and the story

of another. It is all about putting oneself in the place of someone like Martin: to see the world from their perspective, to see what

scares them, to understand their fears, to embrace their pain.

Remembering The Gift Of Wings

Remembering The Gift Of Wings!!!

There was a bird who loved to fly. One day, while it was high up in the air it began to rain.

Its feathers became so heavy

that when it tried to land,

it broke its wing. Time passed, and the bird became better.

It wanted to fly, but no matter how hard it tried, something inside stopped it from

leaving the ground.

Day after day it tried, and day after day fear held it down.

Then one day, a strong wind came and lifted it high into

the sky. It opened its wings

and the bird remembered as

if for the very first time,

that it could fly.

Thoughtful Reflections:-

When you think that something is impossible, stop, relax, unwind, step back and slow down a bit … stop long enough

to remember.

Wheat From Egyptian Tombs

Wheat From

Egyptian Tombs!!!

A handful of wheat,

five thousand years old,

was found in the tomb

of one of the kings

of ancient Egypt.

Someone planted the grains

and, to the amazement of all,

the grains came to life.

When a person is enlightened

his or her words become like seeds, full of life and energy. And they can remain in seed form for centuries until they are sown in a receptive,

fertile heart.

I used to think the words of scripture were dead and dry.

I know now that they are full

of energy and life. But it was my heart that was stony and dead, so how could anything

g grow there?

Kathy Poe and Esther Kim were best friends. They were also competing to represent the US in taekwondo at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Working through separate sides of the draw they both made it to the final of the Olympic trials. Whichever

of them won would go

Poe however dislocated her

knee in the previous match and couldn’t compete. Then came

an incredible act of friendship. Knowing her friend’s knee would be healed by the Games Esther Kim

forfeited the match and her

A Teacher Was Dying, But Still He Was Cheerful & Kind

A Teacher Was Dying, But Still

He Was Cheerful

& Kind!!!

A teacher was dying, but still

he was cheerful and kind.

Students were gathering

around his deathbed.

– Ask. While I’m still here,

I can help you somehow.

And he was showered with questions… The teacher listened

to them and started crying.

– You ruined my feast, dear ones! Now I see that I was a bad mentor… Fine, I will try to fix it in the

last minutes of my life.

And he said the following:

– Every morning I would wake

up with a smile on my face.

I would meet the day, as though

it was the first and the last day

of my life and I would accept everything it offered me with gratitude. I was happy for every meeting with you, as though it was the first and the last meeting, and every time you would open to me

as a new world. I would pray as though it was my first and last prayer that God will hear from me

– it was necessary not to forget anything or anyone. I would work with pleasure and to exhaustion,

as though I would never have

to work again. I would look with

a smile of admiration at every creation of God, as though I saw them the first and the last time.

I always lived for that one day:

I had to live it right, as though

it was the only day of my life.

I longed for the meeting with

the Creator so much that I

did everything so I would

be worthy of meeting Him.

Looking back at my Way,

I look for mistakes – but

I can’t find them.

Now it’s your

turn to look.

One Day A Dull & Exhausted By The Illnesses & Burdens

2020-03-04T18:13:00.002-08:00

One Day A Dull & Exhausted

By The Illnesses & Burdens… !!!

One day a dull and exhausted by the

illnesses and burdens of life peasant

came to the wise man. He sat in front

of the wise man, who gave him a heartfelt and warm smile. The peasant breathed

out heavily letting out a wave of mourning. He began complaining about his life,

that he has a hard burden that he

doesn’t see a bright daylight at all,

it’s like one problem falls on his head

or the other – they have twisted him

between the grindstones so much that

he can’t even breathe in some fresh air.

Later, he began blaming all of his relatives, who, in his opinion, were guilty for his misfortunes, whether the circumstances didn’t turn out right for him, or something else. The wise man listened to him

in silence, and when the peasant once

again contritely inquired the wise man,

why is it so unfair, what should he do

and how to find peace, the wise man

got up from his seat and invited the

peasant to follow him.

They came out of the hut and went

to a lakeside, which was not far away

and where from time to time flying

fishes were jumping, trotting fast

above the surface, catching food.

The wise man led the peasant to

the lakeside and said to him:

“Do you see the smoothness

of the lake? The depths are full

with life. There are fishes that

always stay in water, and if

suddenly the lake got polluted,

they couldn’t see further their

own nose, they would hardly

recognize where the source

of the pollution was, and they

would keep swimming in circles.

And there are also fishes that got

wings and they can rise above the

water of the lake, looking at it

from the heights of their flight.

So this is my advice: instead

of complaining about your life,

come to this lakeside from time

to time, watch the flying fishes

and try to understand what

I wanted to say to you."

Oswald Galter and Unconditional Love

2020-03-04T18:06:00.000-08:00

Oswald Galter and Unconditional Love!!!

Oswald Golter was a missionary

in northern China during the 1940’s. After ten years service

he was returning home.

His ship stopped in India,

and while waiting for a boat

home he found a group of refugees living in a warehouse on the pier. Unwanted by anyone else the refugees were stranded there. Golter went to visit them.

As it was Christmas-time wished them a merry Christmas and

asked them what they would

like for Christmas.

“We’re not Christians,”

they said. “We don’t believe

in Christmas.”

“I know,” said the missionary,

“but what do you want for Christmas?” They described

some German pastries they

were particularly fond of, and so

Oswald Golter cashed in his ticket, used the money to buy baskets and baskets of the pastries, took them

to the refugees, and wished

them a merry Christmas.

When he later repeated the

incident to a class, a student said, “But sir, why did

you do that for them?

They weren’t Christians.

They don’t even believe

in Jesus.”

“I know,” he replied,

“but I do!”

One Cowardly Person Came To A Master Of Martial Arts

2020-03-04T17:56:00.000-08:00

One Cowardly Person

Came To A Master Of

Martial Arts !!!

One cowardly person came to

a master of martial arts and

asked to teach him bravery.

The master looked at him and said:

I will teach you only with one condition:

one month you will have to live in a

big city and tell every person that you

meet on your way that you are a coward. You will have to say it loudly, openly and looking straight into the

person’s eyes. The person got really sad, because this task seemed very scary to him.

For a couple of days he was very sad

and thoughtful, but to live with his cowardice was so unbearable

that he traveled to the city

to accomplish his mission.

At first, when meeting the passers,

he quailed, lost his speech and couldn’t contact anyone. But he needed to

finish the master’s task, so he began

to overcome himself. When he came

up to his first passer to tell about his

cowardice, it seemed to him that

he would die from fear.

But his voice sounded louder and

more confident with every passing day. Suddenly came a moment,

when the man caught himself

thinking that he’s not scared anymore,

and the further he continued doing

the master’s task, the more convinced

he was that the fear was abandoning him.

That way a month had passed.

The person came back to the master,

bowed to him and said: – Thank

you, teacher. I finished your task.

Now I’m not afraid anymore.

But how did you know that this

strange task will help me? –

The thing is that cowardice is

only a habit. And by doing the

things that scare us, we can

destroy the stereotypes and

come to a conclusion that

you came to. And now you

know that bravery is also a habit.

And if you want to make bravery

a part of yourself- you need

to move forward into the fear.

Then the fear will go away,

and bravery will take its place.
