Twitter is replaying a series of actions from a snapshot it took at 9AM, transferring @POTUS followers to the new @POTUS44 account where Barack Obama’s history is archived and the new, fresh @POTUS as well.

I have to ask, had this sort of transfer been the first to happen with Trump as the outgoing, would twitter have tried this hard to let him transfer the account and keep his followers? This seams like a total mess and I don’t think twitter should have gotten involved.

Some savvy developers have already combined the two, like those working on MLB’s official At Bat app.

In the past, I’ve never really been into sports much, aside from a few seasons of NFL years ago. That was due to the Sunday Ticket which was innovation that made it fun and easy to consume the media. Not much by today’s standards but good for the time. But, this season I’ve been really into following the MLB, specifically the Blue Jays, and I swear it is all to do with the technology they employ. The AtBat app is fabulous and constantly improving. I gladly pay to stream the games and they make it easy. From my computer, to iOS and the Apple TV, it all just works.

I feel like these “gig workers” are looking to have their cake and eat it too. You can’t choose that as your job then expect all the other benefits after regretting your choice. Make your choice take what comes with it.

Overcast trying ads
Sucks to have another great indie developer implement ads. I totally understand why, I just wish the financial reality of the App Store was different. I’ve always paid for Overcast, the one time unlock at the start and the patronage model in the second year. I’ve tried all the other apps but I always return to Overcast. It just feels the best, it fits how I think about managing my podcasts. Clean and Simple, all the right features and no unnecessary crap cluttering it up. My only minor complaint is the lack of a Mac App. We streaming just doesn’t cut it for me. I often end up listening to podcasts on my phone at my desk, since Messages on the Mac podcasts is really the only thing left only on my phone for my daily needs. 

I’ll still pay for premium in hopes that my little contribution can keep one of the best developers in the game!
