Dfwsportswire.com (Fort Worth, TX)–The National Reality Football League will hold try-outs for players who want a shot at playing in the league and being on television. The try-outs will be held at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, TX on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington on January 23, 2010.

The NRFL is the creation of Todd Knapp. The league will be a reality show consisting of six teams from six different areas of the country. Players will be selected to their team by the votes of fans after viewing profiles on the website including film from previous games. The players will receive time on television including the possibility of cameras following them to work and their every-day lives. Some of the players will also be endorsing products thereby receiving more money for their participation.

The NRFL is inviting in former college football players and present day semi-pro and minor league football players to the try-out for a chance to be on the reality show. The try-outs will consist of the opportunity to have a profile created along with a combine-type of workout which will help fans make their decisions. Further, the NRFL will have over $10,000 worth of prizes and cash to give away for contests such as strongest football player, longest field goal, fastest player and quarterback challenge. There will also be a dance competition to put together a dance team for the Dallas area. All area dancers are invited to participate.

(Dfwsportswire) Bedford, TX – The Lone Star Mustangs women’s full-contact, tackle football team is proud to announce that they will be partnering with the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (HEB I.S..D.) through the end of their 2010 Spring season. 

The HEB I.S.D. educates over 20,000 students per year in 19 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 2 high schools.  This partnership has been made possible through the Adopt-A-School program. The mission of the Adopt-A-School program “is to create school and community partnerships that positively impact student achievement” according to the Adopt-A-School web site. The Lone Star Mustangs have chosen to adopt the entire school district instead of one single school.  

LynMarie Liberty-Ellington, owner of the Lone Star Mustangs stated “This partnership means a lot to the Lone Star Mustangs. Our goal is to promote women’s football in the community and to give back to the community. The Adopt-A-School program allows us to contribute to the school system and benefit the physical education of area young people.”

All funding provided by the Mustangs to the school district will be placed in a fund in support of the physical education departments. School administrators and teachers will have the ability to access these funds to purchase special equipment and fulfill needs that otherwise would not be funded through the schools via grant requests.

The Lone Star Mustangs are a women’s full-contact, tackle football team representing the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA). Dfwsportswire, July 15, 2009 (Fort Worth, TX)–The Charity Challenge, begun at the first of July by Dfwfootball.net, has been extended through the entire month of July by the website.

July is usually the first month off for semi-pro football teams after the Spring season, and many take vacations or time away from football altogether.  In light of this, the website has decided to extend the challenge throughout the month of July.

The challenge is issued to local Dallas-Fort Worth area football teams.  Fans, players, coaches and owners can make a donation at the Red Cross website, and email their email receipt to charity@dfwfootball.net and indicate which team they support.

The website will tally the results, and a winner will be declared during the moth of August.  That team will have their logo or helmet displayed on the website.
