Home Made Anti Aging Regimen

We were trying to make home made facial masks, but they looked so yucky we threw them away. I wish we could just create products like those that we found at www.oxis.com. Followed Oxis on Twitter and even subscribed to their page by liking Oxis on facebook, but still we couldn't make ourselves what we wanted.

Well, all because we wanted to make home made anti-aging solutions by mashing together avocado, hahaha.. Maybe we'll try another recipe tomorrow. Oxidative stress is too much for us to bear. Imagine your skin will look 10 years older and will make you look like grandma or your mom even when you are yet 22. Imagine that?

The sad part is that people with diseases can not do away with oxidative stress. But those who do not have cancer or kidney malfunction, or Alzheimer's will also suffer from oxidative stress if they smoke, drink or have themselves exposed to free radicals like pollution and may others. Even psychological abnormalities like depression and many others can do too. So basically, it can affect anyone and everyone. We should be aware that it is not a good thing. Antioxidants should always be part of our daily intake..

June 12 we celebrated Independence day and after the weekend we have the 59th Charter Day celebration of Cagayan de Oro City.. What a holiday... A long holiday entails family togetherness. What better way to celebrate at home than to prepare the family’s yummy feast.. Well, technically, I only prepared two dishes yesterday.. and I am sharing them in this blog. I cooked this
for someone....

This recipe is actually from my best friend Gay C. J., or otherwise known to DTR and Me as Gagay. She had us taste this special crab recipe at one of their fiesta celebrations. And I was so fortunate that one time, she allowed me to peek into the cooking and join her too. That's how I learned to prepare this great foodie. But of course, I recreated and made my version, with my signature in the food.

This is how the crabs looked when they are near the cooked state. Actually this is about done but I just had to simmer the sauce. The ingredients are simple too. All you will need are a.) Crabs, b.) soy sauce, c.) vinegar, d.) onions, e.) garlic and f.) sprite. Unfortunately guys, I cannot tell you how much each ingredient you should put since I do not measure when I cook. I simply use my nose and taste buds for the magic. And of course, the most important ingredient of all is "LOVE". Well, I learned that from my mother and my grandmothers, both Lola Viating and Lola Berta. The three of them often say that when you cook with love, or if you are preparing the food for the people you love, there is magic. And the food transforms itself to being the best tasting food ever....

The beauty of this dish is that you can prepare for a battalion, and if not all of them arrives on time, you simply freeze the dish and reheat when the next batch of hungry warriors arrive.... In fact, I love this dish even when it's cold... well, I wouldn't be called Ice Queen if I don't, hahahaha....

I like the thought that creativity sometimes, rather, most of the time, seeks to let others know what's going on in the environment that we live in...

It was just so ironic for me to be buying bread at that bakery, during the time that there was heavy flooding all over the city and people needed food... and stale and molded breads were simply lying on the ground...

Fingers shaped like candle sticks...

That's what me and my daughter share..I remember, when she was born, her nails were even square shaped. That all of us at home laughed. My sisters said that it must be because when I was still pregnant with her I was so "maarte"(vain)...Imagine, even when I was pregnant i would have my nails done with all the flashy colors... I only clipped them when Zarelle was already 2 weeks old for fear that I might scratch my daughter's sensitive skin... but of course, the fingers remained beautiful as ever...ahahaha...conceited me....

So why am I posting this here? Well, I took that photo of myself, and see my kandilaon fingers??? I hace captured them quite beautifully...don't you think so?

THE HOUSE NEAR THE RIVER

Lili and I did this sometime last year. While waiting for daddy to arrive. Sadly, he never came... The house near the river is Lili's own idea. I never told her about it. She was the one who told me what we should paint using watercolors...

Seems that everyday we take the ride going to the city and back, as the jeepney would pass by the river and she sees houses by the river banks, gave her an idea that living near the river is exciting. She said she wants us to live near the river so she can see fishes everyday... hmm... As if she is not contented with the fishes we have at the yellow house... but then again, I think she is referring to a different kind of fish...
