It was awesome a bit boring in between but one hell of an experience.

Fireflies music festival has been happening since 2004. I had heard of it a couple of years back but only managed to go for it this year. The basic idea about this music festival is that its like a night out with live music being played from dusk to dawn and yeah there is a theme that changes every year. That is right from 6pm to 6am and I'm sure your wondering how the hell can anyone stay up all though the night and listen to music leave a side being with friends this is with random people around.

Its not easy I'll give u that but its uniquely different and quite amazing. This years event they had these people come and perform.

BHUMI THAYI BALAGA (Folk)
ANUSUYA KULKARNI (Indonesian Anklung)
PRAKASH SONTAKKE & GROUP (Hawaiian Guitar Fusion)
SHABNAM VIRMANI(Kabir/sufi)
SOLVITEUR CANENDO (Acapella)
GEETHA NAVALE & THE ESPERANTO PROJECT (Soul Fusion)
VAYALI (Kerala Folk)
SWARATMA (Folk Rock)
SHABNAM VIRMANI
Group (Kabir/Sufi)
VEERAGHASE (Kannada Folk)
SHAHID PARVEZ of NAGPUR (Qawali)
RANJANKUMAR BARUA & Group (Hindustani fusion )
REX ROSSARIO (Jazz Quintet)

All of them were awesome I am not a jazz person so that hour I utilized to stock up on some food. I'm pretty sure that like me none of you would have heard about any of these bands but trust me they were mind blowing, the simplicity of their performance and the way they captured the crowd was brilliant. Its not like u have to be in the mood to listen to such music or be relatively high to ""get"" this type of music you have to be you and you'll connect to the tune. Trust me on that.

To get the music and appreciate it all you need is a soft mattress yes you read right and it isn't a typo a mattress. Tough this festival is gaining a lot of publicity (1000 odd people had turned up) the seating is basically like a classic amphitheater with a center low level stage and in circular increase stone seats. This is the only biggest pain that u need to over come a real pain in the ass abd lower back. I mean seriously after 4-5 hours you will defer from using the term PIA with anyone :(.

The best part about this festival was the audience that managed to gather around. I mean the crowd wasn't a closely knitted group there were people from all over bangalore from different professions different background, from tapori's to suit clad gentlemen to kurta wearing jogi's with an afro hair do. It was simply amazing and most importantly is that there were no restrictions at all. People were allowed to do what they wanted where they wanted. No complains! No Nonsense! Peace :). No police to say or do anything, nice and simple setting and nothing happened, people were having fun and enjoying the music just as if they were attending their own college functions. I hope all that come there from now on adhere to this and live upto the standards that have been all these years.

I remember at some point of time this firang came in and started singing <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkNsEH1GD7Q'\>we shall over come and the crowd hearing this automatically starts singing the desi version of it and gave a good fight .. lol it was amazing the unity amongst the crowd without any sort of restrictions, I say it once again simply amazing. Especially when they performed the hit qawali no: dama dum mastkalandar seriously it was like sitting in REX while a hit bollywood item number is playing ... lol ... too too funny and heart warming to see people join together and enjoy the music.

My personal favorite were prakash sontakke, sabnam virmani, the qawali grp and last but not the least swaratham .. I particularly liked their kannada rock song(pavan u'll love this i think). lol how can I forget my friend developed this big time crush on the violinist.

My first fireflies experience was awesome, I hope I can go next year too :).

few videos that I could find while googling that hopefully impress you and make you want to join this next year

1. http://video.aol.com/video-detail/fireflies-2008-fusion-of-kabir/2816968742
2. http://affiliate.kickapps.com/_Prakash-Sontakke-group-playing-Raaga-Fusion-/video/163665/13499.html

Billu ... A review

Hi ppl "Billu" after a very late controversy about its name, something to with barber being there in the title finally released on friday.

The details about the cast and all you can get from here. The movie overall is good I'd give a 3.5 / 5. The songs and the special appearances by the various hot actresses adds to the much needed jazz as Lara doesn't do much at all in this area.

Having any preconceived notions about the movie will ruin it even more. The first half where the build up to the story takes place is quite a drag actually it was very very hmm .. just not getting the right word. The first time we went to watch the movie (two of my friends and me ) we walked off after the interval, what with democracy playing its role. I went to cauvery the next day sat through the whole movie and liked it. The 2nd half is where the movie unfolds and moves on at a nice pace with the ending leaving you with a nice happy feeling.

Okay so my overall verdict

1. Its a good movie and I'd rate 3.5 / 5.
2. Irfan Khan's acting simply brilliant.
3. Tough I give it a 3.5 if you don't have patience or are prone to sleeping in the theatre then rent the dvd and watch.
4. On the paisa vasuul area ... hmm ... the three songs Love mera hit hit(featuring deepika) worth atleast 50 bucks, marjani (featuring kareena) worth atleast 20 bucks, Khudaya Khair (featuring priyanka) worth atleast 40 bucks, the rest atleast well Irfan Khan's brilliant dailog delivery.
5. Some really good comedy scene's (very few ... mind it!!! )

Where it falls apart.

1. the ever long first half.
2. rajpal yadav and om puri .. please what the hell were they doing there.
3. "Billu Bhayankar" when this song starts please run for it!!
4. The making of "Aasmaan ka faristha khoon ka rishtha" which is the movie with in the movie.

So folks do watch it!!

Pramod Mutalik and the RHS

I was just googling for older news about Rashtriya Hindu Sena national president Mr Pramod Mutalik what with all the The Pink Chaddi Campaign, I was just wondering on what this guy was up to b4 this incident which is his new claim to fame in politics.

This Piece of Shit(POS) justifies what happened in Mangalore with this and if you don't know what I'm talking about then read this. What I found was really interesting and just adds to the fact about how full of shit this guy really is. Check this article out.

Mr Pramod "#$@%ed up piece of crap" Mutalik says:

" ... If centres of religious importance for Hindus are targeted, twice the number of religious centres of the opposite party will be smashed hereafter. If the Hindu girls are exploited by the members of other religions, double the number of girls from other religions will also be targeted ... "

This POS says this a couple of months back trying for a spot in the limelight a few months back he goes on and then he goes ahead and justifies what happens in Mangalore. Where the hell did all the aggression go. He takes a stand against all the terrorist activites done by others but when it comes to him and his bunch doing the damage, suddenly thats justified.

He goes on to say

"... there is a need to launch a second quit India movement against the anti-nationals ... "

WTF!!! The sick SOB anti-national is you and your idiotic group of terrorists which needs to be flushed out of our country. People like you who instead of resolving the thousands of other problems that plaques the country where the police and the govt are helpless, go about creating problems where there were none to begin with.

Whats even more sad is that the govt just didnt do nothing, these people were caught on camera for godsake and their leader even justifies it ... I mean WTF!!!

In a way its us who is to blame. What with not taking part in the elections, not giving a thought about it and not voting the right candidate.

My friend Roshan couldnt have said it better

" ... We don't need to wait for some politician to take a stand and make a change. The change needs to start from each one of us. We need to use the power of our vote to get the politicians to hear our voices. If we don't, then get ready to lose our rights one by one. Get ready to be attacked again and again in the name of culture. It’s up to us! We need to decide if we want to go to pubs and malls and restaurants or if we want to be scared and stay indoors. You know it and I know it that we don't lose our ‘Indianness’ or our cultural identity by indulging in some harmless fun. It's up to us to drill this in to out politician’s heads by using the power of our vote!

Our first chance to make our voices heard loud and clear is the upcoming General Elections sometime in April-May. We need to get out and vote and reject those who support such narrow minded organisations! But first, to vote you need to get your name registered in the electoral or the voters list of your constituency. The JaagRe! One Billion Votes Campaing website http://jaagore.com is an excellent place to start the process of registering.

The youth today constitute a majority of the population. We are almost 30% of the total electorate. Yet, only a handful of us really go out and exercise our right to vote. For the politicians we are an insignificant majority because we sit out during every election ...."

We need to get of our ass and change this attitude of ours. Get up and go Vote make your choice and maybe then we'll be heard!!!

Accident NO: 40

I know i shouldn't be making a mockery about having been involved in so many accidents but this one was in a way different from the rest, i wanted to know what others would have done in my place or at least how my friends judge what i did.

It all starts after a mediocre day at work and after a long gap i hit the gym, basically had a dull and tiring day. The route that I take to get back home is airport road -- MG road -- wilson garden -- sadashivnagar -- dollars colony -- bel circle -- and home.

I left office a earlier than my usual time around 9 so relatively the street was more crowded than how it is at 10 - 1030 types. As I reach the domlur bus stop an insane old guy tries to make a dash at crossing the road, there was another person also trying to cross but seeing the light turn green he backed off but for some reason the old guy persists. Seeing the old guy I slow down my pace and tell him to cross but he gives me sign to go ahead so as I accelerate but the dumb fuck makes another dash at crossing and bhaaaaammm we collide my bike goes out of control I slide and roll a lot.

A few minutes goes by I realize that I'm lying on the road I get up check on myself and the damage to the bike also I see that a crowd has already gathered, amazingly all the crowd is doing is to tell me to run, I didn't think it was the right thing to do. I again checked on how I was doing and then I picked up the bike and kept it at side of the road and then I go over to the old guy whom the crowd has safely taken to the other side of the road. I reach the place and see that no damage done at all tough he was complaining about shoulder pain, immediately a guy from the crowd comes and checks him up and declares his collar bone is fractured .. i'm like yeah right.

So now another hero comes up from the crowd is making his intentions clear by talking loudly and asking how we both are and all and then hez like okay lets get both of you to a hospital I him i'll manage on my own just get him to a doc first. The guy said okay we'll take him to Bowring hospital pay us Rs 50,000 .. I just wanted to curse my ass of at the guy but seeing the mob collected around I kept my cool and said sir "I'll take care of myself, it was as much as my fault as it was his so I'll take care of myself and let him take care of himself." To this the smart ass hero goes senti and all and takes about humanity and manavytaa and all. I told him if I had fallen down no one would have given a shit. tho this guy goes on about how karnataka people are so helpful and all. I got a feeling that this is a big time con job that they are planning and my best chance was to run off.

I stay cool and talk along for some more time and then I pick up the old man and put him on my bike. Just to see if he his faking i ask him to put his apparently injuerd arm on my shoulder for support. During the bike ride i made it a point to makehim get as many jerks as possible and on every jerk his injured arm would grab hold of my shoulder i knew that okay hez alright types but still i take him to the hospital. At the hospital I give the guy 50 bucks telling him to have a check up and leave in the same time I make a run for it.

I know it may not have been a very nice thing to do if it was not a con job and the guy was in fact seriously hurt but then i felt it was and so i made a run for it. What do u people think of or rather what u have done.

Whole of last night I sat thinking if it was the right thing to do or not! Felt bad that yeah i should have done more but then in the end I still stand by what I said ... it was as much his fault as it was mine so i'll take care of myself and he will tend to himself.

As for me I suffer a medium sprain on my right wrist and a lot of scratches and cuts, and yeah because of a bad cut on my knee I limp a bit.

Just for precaution sake i came by car today :) .. just in case the mob tries to pull me into this again :(.

Idiot sighting

I had a really sad and dull day yesterday for no apparent reason at all, so for today I thought I'd try out a different routine and read up some posts to start my day. So I go to India Uncut. Amit Varma is brilliant going through his blog more than covers up if your not in the habit of reading the newspaper daily.

Some of his sightings are so wierd that I had to put it up on my blog as well. Here are a few of them.

>> Watermelon is nature's Viagra!

>> Getting Raped!!! Firstly before going to this movie please forget that you have ever watched "Jab We Met", with that out of your head the movie is much more watchable.

Aziz mirza the director in an interview on Zoom( yes the one where rakhi sawant has a talk show ) said that Kismat Konnection was a FRESH love story. The only thing I found fresh here was that there wasn't the usual rain scene where love blossoms between the hero and heroine, nor were there any of the usual hungama that the parents won't agree or any such similar age old plots. For a take on fresh there aren't any parents invovled at all :)

The other part which has been so talked about is the "fresh" new jodi Shahid and Vidya. Lets get one thing clear Vidya is a much more mature/older looking woman when compared to Shahid who looks very very young. In a way I shouldnt have any complains here cause thanks to Aziz Mirza's selection I won a bet with a friend for lunch/dinner, the bet being that the movie would be "a younger man older woman" love story. Be warned there are some scenes where in Vidya actually looks like Shahid's mom or aunt ... eeeeeeWWWWWW!!!( the theatre practice scene and the scene where Shahid proposes ).

An interesting or irritating part of the movie is that whenever Vidya's face comes up on the screen there is a sudden breeze that comes out of nowhere and blows only over her to make only her hair go all over the place!! I have to say a very explicit show of freshness. To add to the whole freshness is the totally thanda connection between Vidya and Shahid. To the end of the movie Shahid's preachy speech about global warming and selfishly profiteering business corporations, this surely is a first for love story. I mean seriously wouldn't a simple rain scene have made it much more better and easier for the public to digest but then again its fresh

Another thing is the movie's fashion statement. While Shahid's stylist has a done a brilliant job with his wardrobe selection on the other hand Vidya's .. the engangement wala scene .. the last song .. the theatre practice scene ... the pool table scene ... well just three words kept coming into my head .. "OH MY GOD"!!!!

A good thing in the movie was Vishal's character who plays Shahid's best friend "Hiten". In a way one could go to the extent that he saved the movie from a compelete bummer. The comedy that he and Shadid share are quite peaceful but again very similar to that in "Ishq Vishq". I shouldnt complain here its the only thing that pulls one through the movie.

Music wise .. "Aai Paapi (Tu Hai Meri Soniye)" is brilliant also just like in JWM the last no: in Kismat Konnection "Move Your Body Now" is quite amazing as a dance no:, both Shahid and Amjaad's brilliance no doubt!. Atif also has done an okay okay job with ‘Bakhuda Tumhi Ho’. Since we are talking about dance, another fresh point is that Vidya hardly appears in any of the dance no:s but in Soniye Ve (Dhak Dhak Dhak) where she does make an entry, the three words come back to me again .. again maybe its the freshness in the movie thats so obvious that I totally missed out on it and thats why this view!!

Wrapping it up Kismat Konnection is a very very very light entertainer, a simple love story without glitz, glamour, item numbers and a whole lot of freshness!!

Lotus Pond

Yesterday some colleagues and me went to the cafeteria for lunch, we thought why spoil the start of the week with such bad food. So we decided to go out.

One of us ( not me ) had seen this bengali place on airport very near to my office called "Lotus Pond". The link has lot of good stuff written about them but I suggest u avoid this place as far as possible, don't go by the description given about them in the link. The food is very mediocre and the fish is really really bad. I'd rate the place 2/5 cause despite the horrible food, me and my colleagues had a very good laugh.

Heres why!!! Doggigar -
Tries to hang out with you and your group but somehow just doesn't seem to get the hint that he is unanimously hated. It rains when he talks. Gives out ultra SAAAD jokes. Is the favourite to win the award for “THE MOST IRRITATING PERSON”. So why the name well coz the jokes would be of this order..

Q: "dog and bone main harne wale ko kya bulatha hai"
A: Doggigar ( attempted spoof on bazigaar apparently ).

Dont worry cause mostly likely this person is your bosses best buddy so u have to actually laugh at this while your brain is recovering from the shock it just got.

2. The Hot Chick -
Has great physique. A descendant of Venus. Hangs out with less hot girls so that she stand out. Makes most of the guys drool while intimidating the rest of the girls in the office. And as obvious she will have nothing to do with you or your group. Most likely she'll have something do with doggigar to make your life more miserable.

3. The SCJP guy -
This guy is basically dumb, may know stuff and all but people interaction skill all time zero!! Oh the best part he tries to hang out with your group and just doesn't seem to get the hint that we are laughing at him and not with him. Agreed that some of us don't have a that strong a hold over English, and even the best of us falter at times. i know your saying that happens, what wrong in that everyone has a bad day, why am i making such a big post on it?? Listen ....
On a random day while I'm parking my bike and he also enters the parking lot at the same time, seeing me and he runs to catch up with me puts his hands on my shoulder and says "Dude!! your pants look amazing from the back side" ... okay and all I managed to reply was "okay!!! thanks" ... while shaking his hand of my shoulder. My thoughts .. my bad day!!

4. Ghurkha Bhai -
Well this is the overly friendly guard/office boy that try to talk to u like yr really old buddies or something. The most irritating part is that they will throw the most embarrassing statements with the most brilliant timing ever coz the rest of your group will be there too who will undoubtedly take your trip for quite some time. Beware at times they may try to hit on you .. in some case after three failed attempts they play nice by saying "bhen maanke pucha .. bura maat manoo"!!!

5. Kitty Party -
This is the most irritating group of people you'll ever find. Basically how I define this group is there will be one "Kitty" in the group and a lot of dogs who'll try to make intelligent conversation. Mostly the kitty will be the kinds of Item 2 that I talked about earlier. Whats unnerving about the whole "party" is not that the Item 2 has nothing to do with you, but the kind of "intelligent" conversation that takes place. For instance listen to this...
Apparently the discovery channel mood is set in and here is a small part of the conv --
" A -- u know there are crocodiles at this place called bheemeshwari.
B -- yeah i know .. but they are not harmful as in they only attack you if they feel your a threat!! ( yeah all u have to do is carry a whole stock of Alpenlibe )
C -- BTW .. do crocs have teeth!
B -- haan .. chote chote hote hain .. but dont worry man they won't attack !!
........... "
then the conv moves over to discussing the whole philosophy of "medium" sized t-shirts and difficult it is to shop for a "medium" sized shirt!

6. The Pagal and his group -
You may not find a lot of these people .. partly crazy .. partly fun .. basically the kind with lot of enthusiasm to do everything related to fun ... and also the kind that most people in general feel "What the @#$% is this item doing here!!!!" .. well to shed more light a few stories of the group.
for eg.

>> I'm sure none of u would have met many people who would ask a person to "TAKE" a particular albums** song,(without knowing the likes or dislikes of the person or the person them self) THREE times over a span of a week. Oh and the third time is after the person has politely refused to take the song the previous two times.

>> Supposedly "A" types a hate message about a person "B" and wants to send it to "C" whose a close friend but intentionally or accidentally the message gets send to "B". so what does "A" do ??? lots of neat and safe ideas I'm sure. But here is what "A" actually does. "A" goes to "B" cubicle and tries to switch the comp off, but Murphy being so apt the comp doesn't switch so "A" conveniently pulls out the power cord. Well overall quite cool and sensible but just so that there is no doubt what so ever when "B" finally arrives back to his/her cube "A" goes over and asks a doubt to which "B" innocently replies " My comps restarting right now could you come back a bit later!! ", "A" leaves smiling :)

These people are basically cool but well at times I guess quite intimidating and also some of their antiques just go for a toss!!

>> Like when apparently pagal and his group go down for coffee and in the neighboring office's terrace there apparently is a chick standing talking over the phone. Tho one of the pagals gets hit by an enthusiasm stroke and he starts whistling ( I know quite cheap but bear with me ). One, two whistle down and the person on the roof turns around .. which I'm very sure wasn't for the whistling but interestingly .. the person turns out to be a guy.

The only thing bad or in a way bad is that when your part of this group u undoubtedly get the look. By the look I'm refering to the look that DeNiro has in "Meet The Parents" remember the "Im watching you" one.

7. The Rest of the people Who Hates Ur Fucking Guts -
Gives a mean DeNirolook every time he/she sees u. U obviously don't know what it is he hates about u. Has menacing plans on how to screw you if the boss assign both of u on the same task team.

If u can identify more please add them in as comments !!
** the albums name was Bhool bulaiya and so the title!!!

New Year #23

First of all I'd like too wish all of you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope all you had a wonderful year and may the coming one be even better. So its that time of the year when everyone is busy celebrating or making plans as to where and how to celebrate, etc etc. If you plan it out properly you'll probably get a whole 10 days for your party ... 10 whole days with friends and family, spending time with them ... simply brilliant. The best thing I like about New Years Eve is remembering what all I did in the last year!

Another year come and gone what have I done, Accomplishments, Achievements?? None what so ever!!! Well ... a couple of significant things at least in my perspective, added a lot more memories that I can share with friends and laugh with them also made a few new friends too.

Last year was good ... actually it was really good, all my friends were here and we used to have a gala time almost daily. Actually early last year was when one of my best friend's plan for his Masters got finalized so our group decided to have a whole lot more fun and we sure as hell did. Trips and fundo things all thorough out the time he was there. The best trip was the one just before he left, one hell of a trip which we all enjoyed .. crazy wild what not ... ask anyone of us to describe it and we'll short of words. I took up Gym and dieting seriously and lost about 12kgs, also got a one pack. Made a few new friends at the work who are awesome people, hanging out with them feels just like the good old college days. Mind you some of them are senior people in the team not age wise but qualification wise but still good fun to hangout with. Oh and how can I forget the whole Bhool Bhulaiya incident at office, so utterly stupid ... an ideal scenario for a person to get slapped, but hopefully I've made a good friend with it :). All those days playing pool in IVY my goodness how much we used to spend there in terms of both time and money. Bike trip to pondicherry. TGIF!!! Ankit's birthday. Nisha and me running around for Divya's birthday suprise. IND vs AUS one day that got washed out. Oh how can I forget .. new best friend Ginger.

Yes a good year. One thing that I liked about myself was that I got used to doing stuff alone. Now now don't go getting ideas and all, by stuff I mean movies, restaurants, coffer shops, shopping etc. I got about doing these things alone, trust me it isn't easy sitting all alone in a restaurant or in a movie, especially if your like me who gets bored very easily. I think its a cool thing to be able to do the above mentioned things alone.

The other part of these festivities is that resolutions are made, I don't know how the whole thing about making resolutions got on to the new years thing. Hmmm well so what are my resolutions for this year. I know I wont be able to keep up with any that I make.

Lets see 6-pack is definitely on the agenda, I wont be fixing a time line to it cause that makes it all the more impossible to follow. The other thing that I really want/need to focus on is to get out of this bug of getting bored. It seems like almost every day that I get bored and then start bugging my friends online. That will again take time ... but this year its going to be one of the things I'm seriously going to work on. I hope I can get to achieving this, more so with the 6-pack than with the getting bore part. Also I'll be blogging more, that way I'll get bored less.

As one of my friend pointed out, one of the good things about blogging is that after sometime when you read your older post, it feels good. Thats the reason I thought I'd write this post .. sort of like a diary I guess. God I never thought I'd maintain one. I guess there is a first time for everything in life :).

Btw I spent New Years Eve with my folks bought a bottle of wine for them, and for myself I watched four movies back to back and wrote this post. hmm not that great huh!! I know kind of pathetic but something is better than nothing :).

Anyways to all of you still reading this post CHEERS yaar and have a blast of year this time and everytime :).

A Brief History of College

4 years of Engineering .. 4 years which I consider few of the best years in my life .. 4 years which I wouldn't want to change in anyway .. 4 years that somehow seems to have gone by in just a couple of days .. 4 years that if given a chance to re-live I wouldn't want to change any bit of it!!

Seems just yesterday I used to get up at 7ish types and catch the BMTC to Malleshwarm 18th cross and board the college bus, get to college, spend the entire day among friends, laugh, have a good time ... college days!!!

1st year was mostly making new friends and getting ragged ( I have nothing against it as long as the parties involved know their limit) . Although ragging sounds dumb it was fun or maybe I feel this way cause I didn't have any shitty experiences. I remember the first time I had to say the RV anthem as the bus passed RV falls, I was like "Is this an engineering college or what". Apart from the daily routine of attending classes, my new friends and me started playing basketball a lot, bunk classes, any free hour and we'd be playing basketball. We had workshop in our 2nd semester, this was basically playing around with sheet metal, hammers and see all big m/cs and stuff and this was alloted three hours but we'd rarely take that much time. We'd finish it as quickly as possible and head over to the court. Playing basketball in workshop uniform just makes one sweat even more and after couple of hours of it we'd be drenched completely. In this state we'd walk back into class ( civil class i think) passing the ball between us, fight for a seat under the fan and all this while being least bothered about whether the lecturer is okay or not with us being in class :). Semester exam because everyone was just out of PU/college the josh and enthusiasm about doing well was still there in many of us so we actually studied days b4 the exams and managed to pull in good marks. Oh and how can I forget, the basket ball tournament during our 2nd semester for which we bunked so many classes and later went to the lecturers saying that we were volunteers there.

2nd year was okay I don't remember much of it actually. I remember a few of us going to HOD's room and actually asking him if we cud do a mass bunk so that we could see the IND vs PAK world cup match, and he sort of gave in. I made a couple of good friends and we later got the name "Bheja Fries". Canteen was sort of like our hangout area, just go there sit down along the outer walls, have our lunch, sit down some more .. talk .. laugh .. do a bit of masti but one thing that was always there was mountain dew :). 4th semester how can I ever forget is when I got a platinum medal in DBMS, somehow that subject didn't fit well with me and I was very very lucky to get away with a platinum. Oh and how can I forget we managed to pull of the only class trip to IIT chennai for the tech fest they were hosting. The trip was fun!! Oh and yeah this is also when the josh for getting "good" marks left me!!

3rd year was one of the best year we had the department fest which was so cool and the best that has happened in college, everyday of the fest was damn neat and everyone part of it would have memories about those days. I remember the night out in college where few of us painted the college red with our fest posters then went into our department and slept off in one of the classrooms!! The other incident although I wasn't there was about the HOD's meeting where some conflict between the different departments conducting the fest had occurred we won a moral victory, whenever I remember this it makes me feel good for some reason. My friends and me took up playing badminton cause the idiot who kept the keys to the court almost always made up some sort of story and wouldn't give it to us. Bheja fries also made their first trip to pondicherry around this time. Oh and yeah at the end of 3rd year our Placements had started. First interview that I sat down for was CTS and i got through luckily, thanks to Ribhu who got me through the written round :).

4th year .. I think here is when all of us started realizing that shit we are in 4th year college khatam ... whats going to happen and all!! Even with all this thinking we didn't do as much as we should have in the last year what with all the free time we had. We had the time but I guess the one thing that was common in my group got the better of us :). Funny memories well .. I'm not sure which semester it was but I had bought a rubber lizard and in one of the classes while the lecture was going on, one of my friends or me threw it to ahead to some random person, amazingly it didn't have the effect that I thought it would but anyways few of us got a good laugh and yeah we didn't get caught. In the 8th semester we had our project and boy what a project it was. Ankit, Preethi and me formed the team and I'm very sure based on the no: of lines of code ours was the smallest project. We had to run about a lot but the whole thing was fun and that was the main point. I got to freak out a bit with a GSM modem and also got to play around with a bit of hardware just like i had wanted to. The other crazy incident is how pavan and me got to be sun certified hackers. The best part it was how we just bursted laughing and the shock on our lecturer's who was announcing the names of the winners .. third places .. lol. Also I got placed in I2. I didn't want to sit for this company but thanks to Divya and Nisha who forced me to take it up. I'm glad and very thankful that they did.

Other random and crazy stuff I remember .. sitting in the last bench day after day doing everything from pictionary, dumb charades(clean and porn version), eatting, sleeping, listening to music, hiding our cell phones when the routine idiots come to check our bags .. if the person in front got caught then prompt all the wrong answers, go to the extent of tickling him/her .. that crazy MCA lecturer that came and told us about the rat race thingy and all .. SCM classes .. preparing for the exams, DL god chilly chicken gravy, kalmi kabab, mountain dew .. talking to ranga and begging for the keys .. playing Counter Strike in the hostel LAN .. Naveen and Sagar sirs classes .. Sagar my classmate explaining to our physics maam that air bags dont have sand in them .. Abhishek our PC's story about the proxy company coming for placements .. rachita and me fighting over cocktail food .. talks with ros in the bus ( tough sometime wud get onto my nerves :) ) .. learning how to ride a bike .. mrinal explaining that the cigg pack in his bag was a collector's edition .. college bus .. "GAPPU DROPS ki jay ho!!" Nisha and Gayatri making plans on what the minimum amount to study would be and then after them making the plan I'd talk to them and reduce it even more .. the rapo between Roshan and our unix lecturer .. my friends made up rapo between sirisha( physics lecturer) and me .. Our DBMS lecturers .. electronics LAB, both the Divyas and me in one team awesome fun .. our HOD .. our Data Communication paper brilliant!!

hmm ... College is one the best days of every ones life, it doesn't matter which college your from its the same all over the world but one thing is for sure you wont get to live through it again, the life after it is just one hell of a ride where more often than not when you reach your destination it isn't what you really want. For me those days are behind me but as I said i have no regrets, I've had a great time every bit of it.

Just want to say to all the people who are reading this and are still in college don't waste it, these are the days that you'll remember sitting in your 4x4 cubes later on. Live these days like there is no tomorrow and make them worth remembering!!!

To all those who have already lived through it .. Cheers to those memories!!!

PS: ISE folks who do read this .. post yr memories too as comments!!

Om Shanti Om

WOW ... what a movie! Absolutely brilliant. Awesome comedy, good amount of romance unlike the usual that one gets in a SRK movie, lot of masala, nice debut by Deepika whose smile is a killer and unlike other movies Farah gets very nice shots of this. As such the story line is kind of ... well different. The whole punarjanam thing in this era would have been crap if it wasn't for her way of executing the movie and the thrills provided by SRK, Shreyas Talpade's and Arjun Rampal have performed very well. Basically all the ingredients of a nice block buster.

What makes this movie a must watch ...

1. Farah Khan's brilliance

2. Deepika Padukone

3. Shahrukh Khan's genius

4. The movie is filled with dumb scenes and the dumbness is so obvious and up front that one can't help but laugh uncontrollably. Scenes like mohobaat man and the fight scene where SRK is in red, absolutely funny and a lot more through out the first half and a bit in the 2nd.

5. The light romance is quite nice, not over done.

6. The sheer no: of actors in the movie the "32 star studded song" is brilliant, all the ladies entries will make u droll for sure!!

7. All the hype about Saawariya vs OSO.

8. One of the most complete scores by Vishal-Shekhar and Javed Akhtar. The songs have a nice mixture of everything qawalli, bhangra and western arrangements.

9. Altough SRK does look a bit old to be opposite Deepika but the enthu and energy he brings to the character of Om would be difficult for the rest in bollywood. Still the age thingy is way better than many of the south films.

10. Excellent dialogue which so cleverly incorporates the 70's clichés into these characters everyday parlance. Watch out for Kiron Kher and SRK mother-son exchanges!!

11. Also watch out how SRK take his own trip during the award functions.

Unpretentious and completely transparent in its intentions, Om Shanti Om is an entertainer in the true sense of the word, mixing up elements like comedy, drama, action and emotion to create a one hell of an entertainer.

Folks, treat yourself to some unadulterated fun and put your hands up in the air and sing OM SHANTI OM

Natasha

How many of you thought this is something about a really hot girl or about some incident that involved a really hot amazing girl or something really stupid that i did with a bombshell??? I'm sure half the ppl would, I know i would have.

Well sorry about getting your expectations down, this is a conversation that i had with some of my colleagues. Just want to make it clear to all of you who are still reading this post and to those people who share the name "Natasha", no hard feelings. Its just that i found this funny and i wanted to share it :)

It was a Tuesday and we were down with mid-week crisis, my colleagues and me were out sitting in the cafeteria having coffee and discussing about movies in general. The topic turned to this weekend releases which were Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Laga Chunari Main dag and a few more. The first thing that struck us was "The Trailer" that keeps coming up on every channel, I'm sure all those who spend time even switching between channels wouldn't have missed it.

The scene goes like this ...

Door opens. Rani Mukherjee leaning against the door frame says " Hi! I'm Natasha. "

We burst out laughing for one and here are our thoughts not just thoughts we just laughing our guts out and blurting these words ...

1. WHAAAT ... I'm doing U?????

2. OKAY!! .. The clothes are in that room but i suggest u sat with the jhadoo.

3. ROTFL!! .. Good one .. actually awesome ... but isn't Halloween a long time away!!

I haven't seen the movie and I doubt I'll be going for it but I'm guessing shez playing a call girl or an arm candy in this particular scene. Imagine with what enthu the guy/girl would have placed the call to her, how high his/her hopes were, the name itself I'd say is a killer !!! and Rani making use of it in this scene makes it ... lol

Its not that i have anything against Rani Mukherjee, she has done some brilliant work. Black, Bunty aur Bubli, Hum Tum i liked it very much. I don't know how to act myself so i have no views on her acting capabilities its just that this particular scene with her in that role well not very convincing but very funny indeed .

testing

i'm testing something with my site so for the time being this post is going to be here

Life in the Fast Lane

Over the past year i have been living life in the fast lane and i just loved it. I'm sure a lot of people would be doing more and i would be ten leagues away from what they accomplished in this lane. For me this was fun and i consider it the best part of my life so far.

Doing things on the go, not planning for anything, even if we planned things the very high possibility that it would end up in us going to pondicherry, being in koramangala and still go to mysore just to have dinner, how can i forget eating and shopping like crazy, hanging out with few of my best friends for almost the entire day and day after day having one hell of a time or just spending time with them, planning crazy things and going through with some of them sometimes, learning to appreciate Discovery channel and Animal Planet ;). There were hardly days when we didn't meet up and hanging out never got boring every bit of it was fun. Yeah but being in this lane i have had days when i have said to myself "hey what did we do last weekend" but again no regrets here at all :) eventually i'd spend an hour or two recollecting what i had done. Sitting on terrace and talking random stuff in the middle of the night, discovering golconda. Its not always about doing something every time, doing nothing together also counts. My notion of being in the fast lane !!!

Why i call it the fast lane, well thats how it was with my friends and me. I guess its the same everywhere. You meet up in the morning and plan to doing something that everyone or a few like and the next thing you know you get a call from home "Its 2 in the night!! where the hell are you??".

Lol i just love those days, yup "those" days and i miss them terribly. Right now i have had to change gears from 6th to almost neutral. I googled for "life's become slow" and got this. WOW people actually want a slow paced life(nothing against them). I guess when yr in the fast lane for a long time, u want to slow down or may be my notion of being in the fast lane isn't fast enough cause i don't want it to change for me.

PS:
try google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" on the title.

For Starters

Hello WORLD !!!

Being a programmer had to start of with this.
