Accident Happens

2011-11-21T03:34:00.000+08:00

I am so strict when it comes to my daughter's things and other stuff at home. Remember my last post about us buying her a new bed? It was too big to be carried out of the bedroom door. So if we wanted to get it out of the bedroom, we have to disassemble the part and put it back again. On Friday (18th), I washed her playpen and realized that we no longer have her crib because whenever I wash that playpen, she stays in the crib and vise versa. So I had her on the floor walking around the house with me behind her. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon the playpen was dried up except for the mat that's zipped on all sides of the playpen. She pushed it so hard that she reached the fan, I was in the kitchen sink and Oh my! I saw her putting her fingers in the fan and there! She had one cut in her flesh and 2 on her middle finger nails. At first I don't know what to do, whether to change clothes and bring her to the nearest hospital or don't change at all. I hurried up washing her hand, we changed clothes in a matter of like 10 seconds and hurried outside to go to the hospital. It was a nightmare. I called my husband from the office and he packed his things and head home.

It was really devastating and scary for the three of us. Thank God her fingers were still attached, and wasn't hurt as bad as I imagined her to be. I though she need to be stitched but the ER doctors assured us that it was just a cut in the flesh. But still, the fact that she's hurt kills me.

I realized a couple of things but I want to stress this out to myself: Forget about dinner, it can wait, my child's safety is more important.

New Bed

2011-11-05T01:52:00.001+08:00

My husband and I bought a bed for our daughter last week and it was delivered today. We were so excited as the men who delivered the good assembles the big bed for my daughter. It was really big for her but it doesn't matter. We wanted a bed for her that she'll be comfortable with and room enough for her to walk and roll. And of course I can't help myself not making a layout of it :)

Photobook

2011-10-17T14:35:00.000+08:00

When my daughter celebrated her first birthday in June, I made a photobook as her guestbook. It's a digiscrap photobook that I enjoyed making. Friends and relatives thought that I had it made by a professional, that I went to a shop.

It was a 42 page 8x8 photobook. It consists of her birth, 1st birthday, 1st Christmas, 1st New Year, 1st Out of town, 1st teething and other special events that happened with in her first year of life. I have already kept pictures after her first birthday so I could include them on her Year Two photobook which I will have printed by next year.

Some more pages...

The secret in making a photobook is patience and sticking onto your time frame.

Friday 5 #4

2011-10-15T16:45:00.000+08:00

1. What non-food items are in your refrigerator or freezer?

Haha! Well I have my daughter's vitamins, toothbrush and toothpaste in the fridge. Also an eye dropper. But they're in one small basket.

2. What non-book items are on your bookshelves?

My daughter's sing and roll toy from her daddy.

3. What song or album in your music collection doesn’t fit in with your usual tastes?

Ohhh.. now that you asked that. I was surprised to hear the song, Can't Be with You Tonight by Judy Bounce, in my player. I'm not so sure where it came from.

4. What item in your wardrobe really doesn’t match anything else?

A blouse my sister was begging for a long time for me to throw. Hahaha! she said I look something else when I was wearing it. Honestly I know all about it but I like it just because of the prints. It reminds me of my childhood. I just don't know which part LOL!

5. What scar on your body did you receive in the unlikeliest of ways?

That would be a small (not really a scar) on my forehead because of chicken pox.

Five Question Friday #12

2011-10-15T16:00:00.000+08:00

1. Do you prefer your ice cream in a bowl or in a cone?

I prefer for my ice cream to be in a bowl :)

2. What three things do you love the smell of?

-my daughter's clothes

-my daughter's hair

-my husband's neck, really LOL!

3. Giftcards or no? (In regards to gift giving...)

Yes. But not too often especially now that I have a little me to take care of.

4. What sports did you play in high school if any and do you still play them?

Volleyball. But I played the most sports when I was in college. I played table tennis, tennis, and basketball for girls.

5. Were you in band in high school? What instrument did you play?

Okay this is a little secret.. I was in a band when I was in college. I was a vocalist. I joined some friends' friends and then became my friends (LOL!) from another university. I don't tell my family coz they don't really mind it. Although I play guitar fairly well, I was assigned to be the vocalist.

Friday Fill Ins #14

2011-10-15T15:10:00.000+08:00

And...here we go!

1. It's easy creating an account on Facebook.

2. I love you, my darling.

3. Once upon a time, there was a princess who fell in love with a prince and married him.

4. And lived happily ever after ... the end.

5. What is the one thing that you like most about being a parent.

6. I received a Christmas gift sooner than later.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to have a good night rest, tomorrow my plans include shopping for groceries and Sunday, I want to go to Enchanetd Kingdom if it won't rain!

Letters Of Intent #10

2011-10-14T20:06:00.000+08:00

I wish for all of you to understand what I am saying on my letter for tonight, but I am STILL protecting the person I am writing this letter to. So just kindly bear with me..

Dear 'She-who-must-not-be-named,'

I read your blog today and I felt disappointed. You were pouring your heart's content that you were by passed and embarrassed by your so called friends. I wish I could tell you that I feel the same way, and that it's all because of you. I am faithfully doing my job to help you because as we can both see, we're the only ones left in this quest. But instead you have forgotten about me and my effort to help you. I may not be the best that you have, but I surely am the one who stood beside you when everyone had left us. I don't want to brag about it, but I hope that you can find some time to think about why this is happening to you. And might as well review all of your posts for the past two months.

Sincerely yours,

Just Me

Trick or Treat

2011-10-11T01:23:00.001+08:00

Getting ready for the Halloween is really fun and exciting. Every year at my husband's work, they dress their work place and put on some costumes for trick or treating for staff kids. This year, I just can't bring her to daddy's office to join in the fun since she still have a slight stranger anxiety. So my husband and I decided to let her join next year when she's ready. The pictures I used on these layouts were from last year, courtesy of our dear friend and hubby's officemate, Rene. Oh he's really a good photographer. He's took the pictures from my daughter's birthday.

I passed by at The Studio and saw that they're having a Designer Quest. And I'm blessed to be able to download a free mini kit from one designer who made a very very nice kit, Bettylynn Designs called Spooky Treats.

Happy World Teacher's Day

2011-10-06T03:06:00.002+08:00

The Best Teachers Teachers open up young minds,
showing them the wonders of the intellect
and the miracle
of being able to think for themselves.
A teacher exercises
the mental muscles of students,
stretching and strengthening,
so they can make challenging decisions,
find their way in the world,
and become independent.
The best teachers care enough
To gently push and prod students
to do their best
and fulfill their potential.
You are one of those.
Thank you. By Joanna Fuchs

My Universe 2011

2011-09-13T17:56:00.001+08:00

As much as I want Ms. Philippines to win, I'm at most sure that the judges gave their best judgments to whoever should win that evening: LEILA LULIANA DA COSTA VIEIRA LOPES, Ms. Angola. here's the set of winners.

Ms. Universe 2011: Ms. Angola, Leila Luliana da Costa Vieira Lopes

1st Runner Up: Ms. Ukraine, Olesia Stefanko

2nd Runner Up: Ms. Brazil, Priscila Machado

3rd Runner Up: Ms. Philippines, Shamcey Supsup

4th Runner Up: Ms. China, Zilin Luo

Here are the questions for each ladies and their answers:

Miss Ukraine Olesia Stefanko: If you could trade lives with anyone in history, who would you choose and why? (With translator) She says she's “very satisfied” with her life. But if she had to choose someone she would pick Cleopatra because she’s a “powerful and strong woman who is very much worthy of respect…and I think a woman can also be a leader like Cleopatra.”

Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup: Would you change your religious beliefs to marry someone with an opposite view? She says no, “because the first person I love is God, who created me…if that person loves me, he should love my God too.”

Miss China Luo Zilin: Lots of places have nude beaches. Is public nudity appropriate or inappropriate? (With translator) “Every country has its rules and regulations…We should respect them and be more understanding."

Miss Brazil Priscila Machado: How would you avoid fighting a war you don’t agree with? (With translator) She emphasized the importance of respect. “No war is based on respect…It’s always based on misunderstanding, it’s always based on a lack of education.”

Miss Angola Leila Lopes: If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would you choose and why? (With translator) “I wouldn’t change a thing.” She says she was “endowed with inner beauty.” She adds, “I have my principles. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family.” Then, she wants to offer a piece of advice: “Respect one another.” However, she ran out of time.

Who has been your favorite among them?
