Long time readers have probably come to expect this annual hiccup as apparently this is the time of year for design completion submissions. And as I retouch and color correct the lion’s share of the photography for my company, Ziba Design, well, things get a little crazy for me. It’s a lot harder that you think to match a black across a set of 15 photos. Even harder? White. Harder yet? Red. However I do get a sick pleasure from removing ugly track lighting from a photograph and then correct the lighting, remove reflections and adjust shadows so it all feels natural. (Seventh slide in the gallery. I also re-applied the wall graphics because they were too blurry–then blurred them carefully to integrate properly.)

On a more Dicebox related note, there’s a swell review of Book 1 : Wander over at The Mindless Ones. And the Goodreads giveaway for Book 1 is complete and the books off to the winners (chosen randomly by Goodreads) And there will be a new page of Book 2 come next Tuesday, maybe even two if the fates smile on me.

In other news, I have prepped the last of the book pre-orders for shipping and all original art and prints ought to go out this week.

I will be exhibiting at this year’s Stumptown Comics Fest as I have since its conception, the new twist being I’ll have a book for sale! I’m very excited about this!

And I have gotten into this whole Goodreads author thing, finessing Book 1 : Wander’s entry and even offering a giveaway of a few copies to see what results. If you are a Goodreads member and wouldn’t mind rating Wander : Book 1 –or try for the giveaway– please, go to!

As I still need to wrap up some pre-order work, there won’t be another update until next Saturday. I am hoping to get back to two pages a week soon, but can’t quite predict when that’ll be.

In other news, all U.S. book orders made to this date are in the post and should arrive within the week if they haven’t already. Most orders from other countries are in the wind now and the remaining handful should be off early this week.

Book 1 of Dicebox got a great write-up over at the Comics Alliance and a nice mentions on various blogs like this one here.

And if you Live in Portland, Oregon and are part of the Multnomah County Library system you can borrow one of their copies of Book 1, give it a test drive and all that.

Part 2 : Mirth will start up in a week or two, not sure when yet as I need to take some time for the fulfilling of pre-orders. Speaking of pre-orders, the first batch of books are out with another to follow on Tuesday.
