Al Bullington asked:

A recipe for cabbage soup diet success includes more than just soup. Let’s face it, eating just soup for a week isn’t exactly something to look forward to. Luckily, that isn’t what the cabbage soup diet is. It’s really a complete seven day eating plan that includes a large selection of different foods. The soup is just part of the plan.

The soup is a filler. You can eat all you want whenever you want it. That’s way there’s no reason to be hungry at any time during the seven day plan. Then each day you eat certain foods and only those foods. That way the diet has a variety of foods that keeps it from being extremely boring.

The promise of the diet is that you can lose about 10 pounds in a week. Many people report that kind of loss. Everybody knows weight loss of about 2 pounds a week is all you can sustain long-term. This is just a quick weight loss that is a motivator as part of a long-term sustainable weight loss plan.

Following is an example basic recipe to get you started

Recipe For The Soup
1 head of cabbage 1 bunch celery 2 bunches of green onions 3 large bell peppers 1 large can whole tomatoes 2 cans of chicken broth (13 oz) salt and pepper to taste

Clean all the vegetables. Slice, chop, and add to a large pot. Add whole tomatoes and chicken broth and cook on low heat for 15 minutes or until tender.

The recipe for cabbage soup diet success includes more than just soup. It’s a complete 7 day plan. We have the complete plan including many recipes ready for you to try on our website. This diet has been around for many years and remains popular, probably because it works just like it’s promise.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Bettina Berlin asked:

The fact that you are on a diet does not mean that your food must taste like diet food. In the contrary! If you want to lose weight effectively and in a healthy way, with a high chance of preventing it from coming back, than you must enjoy what you eat. Because that’s the only way how you will continue to eat this healthy food.

The problem why many fad diets fail is simply that you can’t keep on eating like that. And even if a restrictive diet does help you to lose weight – as soon as you finish the diet and return to your old eating habits, you will almost certainly pick up weight again.

But if you make lasting changes in your lifestyle and start eating healthier instead of going on a diet, then you have a high chance that you will not only lose weight but also keep it off afterwards. A healthy diet and weight is a lifetime commitment, not a 6-weeks affair. Eat healthy and you will be healthy, that’s the secret.

Try these three low-fat dishes that don’t taste like low-fat at all! They are healthy and easy to make, filling, high in nutrients and low in calories. And they are not “diet meals” but something you can enjoy.

Spicy Vegetable And Mince Curry

Ingredients

2 tbsp. canola oil 1 tsp. ground cumin 1 tsp. ground coriander 1 tsp. crushed chili 1/2 tsp. turmeric 2 tbsp. lemon juice 700 g lean minced beef 600 g butternut, diced 500 g carrots, thickly sliced 600 g potatoes, diced 500 g sweet potatoes, diced salt

Steps

Heat the oil in a large pot. Fry cumin and coriander for about 1 minute, continuously stirring. Add turmeric, chili and lemon juice and mix well. Add minced meat and roast it briefly. Add the vegetables, mix well, cover and roast for 20-30 minutes until the vegetables are soft. Stir frequently to prevent burning. Season with salt and serve

Vegetable Soup

Ingredients

1 small marrow, cubed 1 tomato, cubed 1/2 stick celery, sliced 1/2 onion, chopped 1/8 cabbage 1 bay leaf 1 1/4 l vegetable stock oregano salt, freshly ground black pepper

Steps

Bring the vegetable stock to boil, add the vegetables and bay leaf and cook for about 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are just soft. Season with oregano, salt and pepper. Serve with whole grain bread.

Pasta With Mixed Vegetables And Cashews

Ingredients

200 g whole wheat pasta 4 tbsp. canola oil 3 red chili, chopped 1 small onion, chopped 80 g cashew nuts 2 red and 1 yellow pepper, thinly sliced 150 g green beans 1 tin corn

Steps

Cook the pasta in boiling water according to the instructions on the packet. Heat the oil in a large pan, fry the onions and chili for about 3 minutes, occasionally stirring. Add the cashews and fry for another minute. Add pepper and beans and stir-fry for 5-10 minutes until the vegetables are just soft. Then add the corn, mix everything well and allow the corn to heat up. Drain the pasta and serve it with the veggies.

All three recipes make four servings. They are based on large portions of vegetables and foods rich in complex carbohydrates (potatoes, whole grain bread and pasta) which will fill you long before you could possibly overeat. They provide you with important nutrients whilst being low in calories. No or little fat has been added to the recipes, and the ingredients are rather low in fat. This way, you can lose weight and still enjoy delicious meals of a reasonable portion size.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

William Santoro asked:

Have you ever felt frustrated because you weren’t achieving your fitness or diet goals? Would it be too good to be true if you learned the solution involved cutting back on aerobic exercise or eating more of your favorite foods?

While it’s more likely than not you need to do exactly the opposite, how will you know how much of what foods to maintain in your diet, and whether you’re getting balanced nutrition? An online meal planner puts you light years ahead of counting calories and carbohydrates for controlling your nutrition and health.

A few weeks ago, I was becoming frustrated at the fact I had been exercising more frequently and eating healthier than ever–even cutting back on alcohol (mostly wine) to just a couple times a week–with little results to show for my efforts. If anything, it appeared that my weight and body fat had increased slightly!

Then a friend suggested that I might actually be eating too few calories. That didn’t make any sense to me at all, so he recommended I try out an online meal planning system, called Vitabot. Vitabot is offered by many health clubs as an added benefit for its members, and is recently being offered in an online subscription service by a small number of internet resellers. According to Vitabot’s website, their system has received critical acclaim from top nutritionists and trainers.

It took me a just a short while to get the hang of using the meal planner’s interface, after watching a video tutorial. First I input my current weight, height, body fat, activity level, and target weight. Then I went about selecting my current meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) from the menu (Vitabot is based on standards defined by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science). I was happy to see a filter that showed me only vegan foods, but the meal planner is also suitable for vegetarians (lacto/ovo-lacto), and for meat-eaters as well.

To my surprise, the meal planner revealed that I needed about 2500 calories/day and my current diet contained only 1900 calories a day. Vitabot’s patented interactive report card system gave me an “F” for not having enough calories and a “C” for insufficient carbohydrates in my diet. It also revealed I had a deficiency of Cobalamin (vitamin B12), which is also common among vegans.

But Vitabot doesn’t stop there. It incorporates a food suggestion system that tells you what foods to eat more of (and the exact portion size) to achieve the optimum balance of vitamins and minerals. In my case, it instructed me to add foods that contained more calories, carbohydrates, and less sodium. I adjusted my meal plan according to Vitabot’s recommendations until my plan achieved an “A” grade.

Most important were the results: After following Vitabot’s recommendations for just a few days, I actually lost a bit, and have stablilized at my desired weight. So, whether you are trying to control your weight (up or down) or just want to make sure you are getting the right nutrients as you make adjustments to your diet, I recommend you experience an online meal planning system for yourself.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Greg Correll asked:

If you have begun your work towards obtaining a six pack abs then you already know how important meal plans are towards your success. If you haven’t yet gotten started you might not fully understand the importance of eating properly and establishing a solid nutritional meal plan. Take a look at this article for an overview of information on effective meal plans for six pack abs programs.

When people want to get a six pack abs, they tend to spend all of their time doing hundreds or thousands of crunches. For now, lets ignore the fact that this workout style isn’t going to even produce the best results. Instead, look at all of your workouts from the perspective that they are only half of the battle towards reaching your goal.

In order to build muscle in your abdominal muscles, you have to have enough protein in your diet to sustain that muscle growth. Protein is the fuel that muscles require in order to be built, repaired and maintained, and therefore protein is a huge component of meal plans in a six pack abs programs. You should try to get around one gram of protein per pound of body mass to ensure you can effectively build muscle.

Another thing you have to think about specifically for your abs is that they happen to be located in a region where your body is most prone to storing fat. That means even if you build up great strength and muscle size in your core region, you still might not have a six pack because all of your muscle is hidden underneath layers of fat.

This brings us to the second key factor in meal plans of a six pack abs program, and that’s the fact that you have to watch what you eat in order to burn off extra fat. This means maintaining a diet that is going to keep your metabolism working at the fastest rate. This can be done by eating many smaller meals spread throughout the day as opposed to a few larger ones.

Incorporating protein into every meal or snack you eat is also another smart way to make the most out of the calories you intake, as mentioned above. Cut down on heavily processed junk foods, and on days that you don’t workout, lower your caloric intake by 10-20%. On days you workout, keep your caloric intake the same but as discussed, be sure that you fill up on protein.

Meal plans for a six pack abs program don’t have to be overly complicated, however, they are a necessary component towards getting the body of your dreams. Keep your metabolism moving quickly by eating smaller, more frequent meals, watch your calories and get plenty of protein in order to see the results you’ve been craving.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Rico Kidd asked:

The 6 Week Body Makeover meal plan is about customization. The more you customize your meal plan, the less bored you will be with your diet. The less bored you are with your diet, the more likely you will stick to the meal plan and lose weight. This article is directed towards people who have taken the body blue print questionnaire and have body type C.

Body Type C people are known to have more lean muscle mass than the rest of the body types. This is good as lean muscle mass increases your metabolism. When your metabolism has increased, it will burn calories (energy) at a faster rate, which will allow you to lose weight faster. The majority of “C” bodies are allowed to eat simple and complex carbohydrates (in moderation) and fruit. They should stick to chicken and fish for protein and stay away from red meats as red meat will make them “bulk up”. Here is a sample menu using the Infinite Menu Planner for a body type c daily meal.

Breakfast

4 oz. protein A
1 cup carb A
1/2 cup fruit A

Mid Morning Snack

4 oz. protein A
1/2 cup of carb A

Lunch

4 oz. protein A
1 cup carb A
1-2 cups veggie A

Mid Afternoon Snack

4 oz. protein A
1/2 cup carb A

Dinner

4 oz. protein A
1 cup carb A
1-2 cups veggie A

PM Snack

1/2 cup fruit A

If you use the infinite menu planner, you will have an unlimited amount of food choices. Losing weight doesn’t have to be about suffering and being on a boring meal plan. Learn to eat correctly and eat for a lifetime.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Dawn Woods asked:

The quickest way to burn fat is to follow a fad diet program that promises rapid weight loss results in the shortest time period possible. The calorie shifting diet is one such example of a diet that can help you reach your goal. If followed properly, this diet claims that you will lose weight at the rate of about 9 pounds every 11 days, or about 18 to 20 pounds in one month.

Most rapid weight loss diets are unsustainable for the long-term and simply unsafe to follow for more than two weeks at a time. The calorie-shifting diet falls into the same category but its diet plan is unique in that it requires you to take a mandatory 3-day break from the diet after the 11th day. So, in a 14-day period, you are only following the diet for 11 days. After the 3-day break, you can then safely jump right back onto the diet again, for another 11 days.

The way the calorie shifting diet works is simple:

• You do not need to count calories.

• You can eat as much food as you like at every meal until you are satisfied but not full.

• You must eat 4 full meals a day.

• What you eat at each meal is based on an 11-day diet plan in which the types of calories you consume (proteins, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, starch, etc.) are shifted from meal to meal. In other words, in one meal you might only eat food from one or two food groups, and another combination of food groups during the next meal.

The science behind how the calorie shifting diet works is that by only introducing certain combinations of calories into your body at different times of the day each day, you are triggering a metabolic response in your body that induces burning fat.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Tina Bardo asked:

In this article we are going to quickly look at some meal replacement info that many dieters need to know. The simple truth is that meal replacement diets are NOT created equal, with many of the popular choices actually TASTING great….but being very fattening to boot! When it comes to bars and shakes, the most common mistake I see being made is that folks simply think because it’s shaped or packaged similarly to what they expect in a low calorie food substitution, it’s actually a diet food on that basis alone..:-) Let’s take a closer look below.

Aren’t all Meal Replacement Bars and Shakes Made for Dieting?

Absolutely not! Did you know that some of the most popular bars on the market are over 420 calories? It’s true….and while they may be full of protein and amino acids, unless you are planning on doing some power lifting competitions, that is NOT going to help you drop any dress sizes..:-) The simple truth is that many of these products are actually designed to PUT on weight, as they are very high in caloric content, sugar and other ingredients that are conducive for adding body mass.

Don’t All Meal Replacement Diets Require a Prescription?

Again, the answer is NO! This is a myth that has actually been spread by a few of the expensive diet programs in conjunction with some popular programs that encourage physician referrals. While it may be good for their business…it WON’T be good for YOUR pocketbook or wallet! The simple truth is that the Medifast diet has been PROVEN to work for over one MILLION people just like us, and can be purchased online for about 10 dollars a day. (no prescription required!)

Remember – the number 1 thing you NEED to look for in a meal replacement diet is the caloric content – everything else is important as well….but NOTHING says sensational weight loss quite as well as tasty shakes (and other treats) that are low in calories to boot!

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Anastacia Huang asked:

Master Cleanse Diet Recipe is very simple and there are only a few ingredients to prepare. You have to follow the ingredients listed and no substitutions of any of the ingredients. Do it a continuous of 10 days and feel the difference.

Ingredients for 1 serving:

- 10 Ounces Pure Filtered Water (Warm)

- 2 Tablespoon of Grade B Organic Maple Syrup

- 1/10 Organic Cayenne Pepper (Red)

- 2 Tablespoon of Organic Lemons

Optional Ingredients:

- Laxative Tea

- Decaffeinated Natural Herbal Tea

- Pure Hoodia Gordonii Extract

When you are on Master Cleanse, you should be drinking plenty of water. For example, if you weight 130 pounds, you should drink at least 130 ounces of water. I am also encouraging people who got the intention of trying this diet to use organic ingredients because the purpose of going on this diet for 10 days is to remove any poisonous toxins and wastes from your body in order to achieve an optimum result. It is best to stay away from ingredients that has been sprayed with pesticides.

Some people actually replaced Fresh Lemons with Concentrated Lemons and that is not right because Concentrated Lemons are normally filled with sugars and preservatives which are not advisable to use it during the cleanse.

Optional Ingredients like Laxative Tea can be used in addition to Master Cleanse Diet, drinking Laxative Tea helps to increase elimination and it helps to address the two main difficulties such as hunger pangs and food cravings. As for Decaffeinated Natural Herbal Tea,it will help you when you are getting too bored with just drinking Lemonade.

Many times, hunger is often the main reason that people gave up during this 10 days diet and it is impossible to avoid getting hungry but with the optional ingredient, Hoodia Gordonii Extract, it can help to curb your appetite and overcome the hunger.

Finishing Master Cleanse is definitely not easy but with the right instructions, methods and determination to follow. I believed it is achievable. If you would like to know more about this diet, i would suggest you to read the guide : Master Cleanse Secrets.

Fit Yummy Mummy!

Heat a medium saucepan over low heat. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and onions to pan and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes – until onions have softened, stirring occasionally. Uncover and allow water to evaporate. Onions should have the texture of marmalade.

2. Meanwhile, in a shallow bowl, whisk the egg whites. Spread the cornmeal over a plate. Toss scallops in egg whites until fully coated. Remove one scallop at a time, allowing the excess egg white to drip off, and roll in the cornmeal. Shake off excess and season.

3. Heat a large sauté pan over high heat. Add oil and let it get hot. Carefully place scallops in pan one at a time and fry until first side is deep brown and crisped, about 2 minutes. Turn and cook on second side until interior is completely opaque and outside is brown, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cover lightly with aluminum foil to keep warm.

4. Drain oil from the sauté pan and dab clean with a paper towel. Set the pan over medium heat and add remaining butter. When the butter has browned, add the tomato and sauté 1 minute. Stir in lemon juice and chives.
Lynne Jones asked:

A meal plan diet is a healthy choice for long term weight loss. There are hundreds of diet plans to choose from. Some have weathered the test of time and others are just popping onto the horizon. If you’re like most people you have gone from plan to plan looking for the right one to fit you. The plan itself can be the biggest determinant of whether you lose weight or not. Regardless of what it promises, if it is poorly put together, you won’t lose weight. Run the other way when you see a diet plan that promises to lose weight quickly and easily. Weight loss is hard work; it takes discipline and determination. It is much harder to lose weight than it was to put it on. The most effective diet plan is one that allows you to lose weight and keep it off.

A meal plan diet has many advantages:

Helps you to eat healthy. When planning meals, you pick foods from each of the required food groups to make up each meal. When you eat healthy, your body works better and learns how to burn fat more efficiently. When your metabolism increases, you burn more calories.

Gives you flexibility. You can vary the types of food you eat as long as you stay within the boundaries of the meal plan diet. Foods that on some diet plans might be called cheating, you can eat, because by incorporating some of these ‘wants’ into your meal plan, it just becomes part of the meal. You can’t have pizza every meal but you can make the plan a lot easier to stick with by including some of your favorite foods in moderation.

Helps with portion control. Many times we know how many calories we want to eat for the day but we struggle to get the right mix of nutrients. How many calories from fat, carbohydrates or fiber do we need? A well designed meal plan diet will plan all that out for you.

Saves money and time. By planning your meals ahead of time, you can save money at the grocery store by not buying food on impulse. You make your list and stick to it. Planning your meals also keeps you from eating fast food, even if you pick something off the healthy menu.

Most meal plan diets recommend that you eat several small meals throughout the day. This keeps your body’s metabolism running at a higher rate, thereby burning calories more efficiently. 5 meals made up of about 300 calories each gives most people the needed calories to stay healthy and feel full and just few enough to be able to lose weight.

A computerized meal planner is a valuable tool in a meal plan diet. It is not enough to know that we need to eat 1500 to 1800 calories a day. A meal planner will actually tell you what you should eat, how much of it to eat, and when to eat it.

Fit Yummy Mummy!
