Induced Coma vs Coma

Induced Coma and Coma is a state of unconsciousness lasting more than six hours, in which a person: cannot be awakened; fails to respond normally to painful stimuli, light, or sound; lacks a normal sleep-wake cycle; and, does not initiate voluntary actions.

The main difference is Coma is natural phenomenon which can occur due to shock or brain injury or accident where as Induced Coma is a temporary coma brought by a controlled dose of a barbiturate drug.

Read below point-wise Difference between Induced Coma and Coma

Induced Coma Degree

A patient under the barbitude drug goes into Induced Coma state. It is similar to Coma state only difference is that they are in coma due to drug.

Induced Coma (Barbiturate comas) are used to protect the brain during major neurosurgery, and as a last line of treatment in certain cases of status epilepticus that have not responded to other treatments..

Coma

A coma patient may appear to be awake, they are unable to consciously feel, speak, hear, or move..

A patient goes into coma state due to injury to main two components either cerebral cortex or brainstem, called reticular activating system (RAS or ARAS).

Induced Coma Details

Barbiturates reduce the metabolic rate of brain tissue, as well as the cerebral blood flow. With these reductions, the blood vessels in the brain narrow, decreasing the amount of space occupied by the brain, and hence the intracranial pressure. The hope is that, with the swelling relieved, the pressure decreases and some or all brain damage may be averted. Several studies have supported this theory by showing reduced mortality when treating refractory intracranial hypertension with a barbiturate coma.

Jesse Ryder, New Zealand Cricketer who plays T20, ODI and Test is in Induced Coma due to the injury on his head.

These are the few differences between Induced Coma and Coma.

IOC vs AOP

IOC and AOP are concepts in Spring Framework. IOC is Inversion of Control or Dependency Injection and AOP is Aspect-Oriented Programming. Both are different concepts which are part of Spring framework.

Read below point-wise Difference between IOC and AOP in Spring

- Check out Difference Between Springs and Struts

IOC in Spring

IOC means Inversion of Control.

Inversion of Control a.k.a. Dependency Injection (DI) is mainly to do with maintaining loose coupling and managing the dependencies between the components of an application.

Dependency Injection is a design pattern that strives to reduce explicit dependencies between components.

IOC is good when you have a dependency on a component and you don’t know to which implementation.

AOP in Spring

AOP means Aspect-Oriented Programming.

It is mainly to do with Abstracting functionality that applies across the application in all components of your application.

Aspect-oriented programming allows you to specify an implementation pattern (using source code, not natural language) into a so-called aspect

AOP is used when you need to apply a common behaviour to all components. Here there is no necessarily dependency required.

Similarties between IOC and AOP in Spring

Both achieve loose coupling.

Both achieve seperation of business logic with IOC and AOP code

These are the few differences between IOC and AOP in Spring.

Both degrees includes general education requirements, electives and major coursework.

Misconceptions on Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree

Lot of people around the world (esp. in India) tend to think that earning a Bachelor’s Degree over an Associate’s Degree will give better jobs and therefore more money. In a sense it is true due to the way companies shortlist the profiles. They prefer a regular degree over a non regular or associate degree.

I think it really depends on the geographical location. In some countries, students first complete associate’s degree and start working and then take a break to do Bachelor’s degree.

These are the few differences between Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree.

Factoring vs Invoice Discounting

Factoring and Invoice Discounting are terms used in Finance. Both are services in finance which allows businesses to release funds which are stuck as unpaid invoices. In these both financial services, A third party company usually advances money against outstanding balances. It helps releasing cash against monies which is already earned.

Virtual Hard Disk vs Hard Disk

Hard Disk is a hardware device which stores data on the magnetic disk where as Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) is a disk image file format for storing the complete contents of a hard drive. The format was created by Connectix for Connectix Virtual PC product, which is now acquired by Microsoft in 2003 and it is now known as Microsoft Virtual PC.

Below are more Difference between Virtual Hard Disk and Hard Disk.

Virtual Hard Disk

Virtual hard disk (VHD) is a disk image file format for storing the complete contents of a hard drive.

Because it is a disk image file format of the whole content of hard drive it is called as Virtual Hard Disk.

As it is a disk image which includes all the data and structural elements. It can be stored on any physical host.

It can be accessed from anywhere.

There are two main types of virtual hard disks: fixed-size virtual hard disk and dynamically expanding virtual hard disk.

The fixed-size VHDs will take a specific amount of physical disk space on the host computer’s file system.

The dynamic virtual hard disk keeps expanding as more and more space is needed.

Hard Disk

Hard Disk is a hardware device which is connected to the PC or Laptop or Notebook or gaming consoles like Xbox and Playstation.

It needs to be installed on a particular hardware and is connected to it.

It is stored on a particular physical host and can be accessed from within or from anywhere provided it is shared on the network.

Hard Disks come in different sizes from GB to TB and also with different speeds RPM’s.

Hard Disk comes in fixed size it cannot grown like Virtual Hard Disk.

Virtual Hard Disk Advantages

Significant benefits result from the ability to boot a physical computer from a virtual hard drive:

Ease of deployment: IT organizations can deploy standardized, ‘pre-built’ configurations on a single VHD. As an example, software engineering organizations which need a specific set of tools for a particular project could simply ‘pull’ the appropriately-configured VHD from a network location.

Backup-and-Restore: Changes to the contents of a VHD (such as infection by a virus, or accidental deletion of critical files) are easily undone.

Multi-User Isolation: Many current operating systems support having multiple users, but offer varying degrees of protection between them (e.g., one user of the OS could become infected by a virus which infects other users, or make changes to the OS which affect other users). By giving each user their own version of the operating system—say, by creating for each of them a differencing VHD based on a base installation of the OS—changes to any particular child image would have no effect on any of the other child images.

These are the few differences between Virtual Hard Disk and Hard Disk.

iPhone 5 vs Samsung S III

iPhone 5 and Samsung S III are high end smart phones from Apple and Samsung respectively. Both mobiles were launched to conquer the market. Both mobiles are doing well. The similarity between iPhone 5 and Samsung S III is that they are smart phones. Check out the below Difference between iPhone 5 and Samsung S III.

iPhone 5

Design : iPhone 5 offers a slim aluminium back cover with a non-removable battery and a fingerprint and oil resistant screen (front cover.) Dimensions are: 128.8 mm height, 58.6 mm width and 7.6 mm thickness.

Screen : It offers a 4 inch IPS screen with 1136 x 640 res (306 dpi.) In the dark you are supplied with maximum brightness and a less reflective screen surface.

Software : iPhone 5 uses iOS 6 which has had its growing pains and needed updating shortly after release..

Apple uses Apple maps which is not as good as Google Maps.

IPhone 5 has the standard applications that are expected from smartphones, plus a few notable ones; Siri, Safari, iSight camera, iCloud and Passbook. While these are some unique features, they just don’t answer to the IPhone’s fans for wanting new and better features and applications.

Samsung S III

Design : Samsung Galaxy S III offers a plastic back cover with a removable battery and a Corning Gorilla Glass II screen (front cover.) Dimensions are 136.6 mm height, 70.6 mm width and 8.6 mm thickness.

Screen : It 4.8 inch super AMOLED 1280 x 720 res (326 dpi.) Rich colours and deep blacks are supplied but the screen is more reflective. Samsung is better here compared to iPhone 5.

Software : Samsung uses the android 4.1 Jelly Bean a standardize operating system that has had the quirks taken care of before release.

Samsung SIII uses Google Maps. Here Samsung is better.

Samsung Galaxy SIII has so many new, useful and intriguing applications such as smart stay, direct call smart alert, social tag, sVoice, sBeam, Share Cast, All Share Play and Smart keyboard. Also included are the standard Google search, Google maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google play store.

iPhone 5 vs Samsung S III Conclusion

Apple’s iPhone appears to be stuck in rut software wise. Users were expecting more of a bang for their buck with the iPhone 5, unfortunately it didn’t deliver with the iPhone 5 and speculation is that there won’t be much marked improvement in the new iPhone 6. iPhone autonomy has been totally usurped by the Samsung Galaxy S III, and it is unsure whether Apple will change direction with the iPhone and be able to regain its leadership in the smartphone market.

These are the few differences between iPhone 5 and Samsung S III.

Malware both are software programs which are harmful. Both infect the computer and steal the data by gaining access to the computer system. where as Adware is an advertising-supported software which is included inside the software package which renders advertisements in order to generate revenue for its author.

Adware

Adware is mostly peice of software that comes in-built into the main software program or product.

The adware puts or rotates advertisement banners on the software program or application and helps generate revenue for the author of the software.

Adware is usually seen by the developer as a way to recover development costs, and in some cases it may allow the software to be provided to the user free of charge or at a reduced price.

Adware is sometimes categorized as malware usually because it presents unwanted advertisements. Mostly they are in the form of pop-up. Programs have been developed to detect, quarantine, and remove advertisement-displaying malware, including Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, Spyware Doctor and Spybot – Search & Destroy.

Spyware and Malware both are software programs which are harmful. Both infect the computer and steal the data by gaining access to the computer system.

Spyware is software that aids in gathering information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer’s consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer’s knowledge.

Malware is software used or created by attackers to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain access to private computer systems. It can appear in the form of code, scripts, active content, and other software.

Spyware is mostly classified into four types: system monitors, trojans, adware, and tracking cookies.

Spyware must required to run the Malware.

It is mostly used for tracking and storing internet users’ movements on the web; serving up pop-up ads to internet users.

Spyware can collect almost any type of data, including personal information like Internet surfing habits, user logins, and bank or credit account information or change computer settings.

Spyware are removed or detected by Anti-Spyware programs.

GMP is Good Manufacturing Practices – applies to goods that are intended for human use

GLP is Good Laboratory Practices – a set of guidelines intended for maintenance of integrity and quality of lab data that is used by manufacturing companies.

GMP and GLP are regulations that are governed by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Health Care product manufacturers. These regulations ensure the safety and integrity of drugs. Check out main Differences between GMP and GLP.

GMP and GLP, both are to protect the health interests of end consumers but have differences in the approach and uses different systems. Both GMP and GLP is a brainchild of FDA.

GLP gives you a chance to ‘start over’, with your debts written off. All the assets sold off and the proceeds divided among the lenders.

Both, GLP and GMP ensures high quality of products as well as their lab procedures. GMP and GLP have become synonymous of assurance of quality. Companies those have these certifications increases the confidence in the consumers and thereby increasing their business.

IVA (individual voluntary arrangement) and Bankruptcy are terms in Finance. Check out main Differences between IVA and Bankruptcy.

IVA and Bankruptcy, both are options that a person or company can choose when they have unmanageable debts and there’s no way out, in that cases you might need to consider for Bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy gives you a chance to ‘start over’, with your debts written off. All the assets sold off and the proceeds divided among the lenders.

Debt Managers can study and help decide whether Bankruptcy or IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) is better.

Main Differences between IVA and Bankruptcy

That assets are handled differently

The home is treated differently.

The time periods for each procedure are different.

Employment status has to be considered before choosing each procedure

IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement)

Duration :Typically lasts five years.

Effect on home :Will require you to release any equity over 1,000. You may have to sell your home.

Publicity :Won’t advertise your insolvency. It will appear in the Insolvency Register (which is publicly available).

Effect on career :Wouldn’t affect your career options unless it’s a condition of your employment.

Bankruptcy

Duration :Typically lasts one year. You might have to make payments for up to three years.

Effect on home :Might require you to release equity but you won’t have to sell your home.

Publicity :Will be advertised in newspapers. It will also be publicly available in the Insolvency Register.

Effect on career :Means you’re legally not allowed to do some jobs – like being a local government councillor or a company director..

IVA pros & cons

A look at the pros & cons of entering an IVA.

The pros

Writes off unaffordable unsecured debt on successful completion

Fixed repayment plan – you’ll know how much you’re paying each month, and for how long (normally five years)

Protects against action from lenders

Can help to ensure homeowners avoid repossession (unlike bankruptcy)

The cons

Will normally require homeowners to release equity in the final year of the arrangement

Will affect your credit rating for six years from the date the IVA is registered

Lasts longer than bankruptcy normally does

Will leave you with very little money for non-essentials

Bankruptcy pros & cons

A look at the pros & cons of entering bankruptcy.

The pros

Once your bankruptcy is over, any outstanding unsecured debt will be written off

You’ll be protected against any action by your lenders

You could be discharged after a year

It could give you a chance to ‘start over’

The cons

You could lose your assets, including home

Your bankruptcy will be advertised in newspapers

Your bankruptcy will stay on your credit file for six years

You may have to make contributions for up to three years (15 years in extreme cases, if you’re subject to a Bankruptcy Restriction Order)

Which one to choose IVA or Bankruptcy ?

Individuals can’t. You need to consult expert and take their advice. It is difficult to choose.

One thing is certain: bankruptcy is a serious step and it’s well worth exploring the alternatives. To quote The Insolvency Service:

‘The principal statutory alternative to an IVA is bankruptcy. Bankruptcy should always be the last resort as the debtor will lose control of their assets and will be subject to bankruptcy restrictions, potentially up to 15 years.’

Melanotan 2 is cheaper than Melanotan 1.

Melanotan 2 petide is easily available

Melanotan 1 (MT) is better than the Melanotan 2 (MT II) as it doesn’t have any side effect.

Because MT II is cheaper and more available, people tend to go for it. REMEMBER MT I is safer and better but it costs you more.
