I am so proud and happy that my layout won LOTW Week 4 September 2011 at Ivy Scraps. I knew I had to scrap this photo as soon as I saw it. I wanted to share it with my daughters but of course, I am totally unable to post just a normal pic......it has to be scrapped!!!! LOL!!! This is a copy of a photo of my husbands' maternal grandmother. My girls are lucky I didn't know her name when they were born. They would've surely been named Addie and Octavia. Just totally love those old fashioned names. The kit I used is the August 2011 Mega - My Fair Lady by the Ivy Scraps Collabs Team. The absolutely perfect kit for heritage pages.

Bet you all didn't see this coming........LOL!!! I think moving to the Woods is having a very strong influence on my designs. Just like my designs had a very distinct Southwest flavor when I lived in the desert, I think my designs are going to take a distinct turn towards the Woods!! I can't help but be inspired by all the beauty of Mother Nature that is around me. These colors and the mini kit I made were just itching to be shared. Here are the colors I chose for this month's challenge.

Helping Hands Charity Kit at Ivy Scraps

ravaged by unexpected and devastating weather. Fires, floods, tornados
and other disasters struck the country in the north, the south, the east
and the west. And Samaritan's Purse was there for communities in
Missouri, North Carolina and Alabama.

With your help, Ivy Scraps will be there with "Helping Hands" for
Samaritan's Purse! Fourteen designers, some established, some new, some
who sell, some who otherwise offer freebies only, contributed to this

I may have had waaaayyyyy too much fun with the colors I chose for this month's color challenge.

This is the mini kit I created as a Participation Gift for this month's challenge.

The challenge is to use the colors in the color palette to create a layout. The Partcicpation Gift may be used or any items in your scrapping stash. Ok to recolor items for your layout to match the color palette.

OR use the color palette provided to create a mini kit to share.

Charity Kit Sign Ups Open To All!!!

Ivy Scraps is hosting a charity kit for the 2011 US Tornado Victims.
Anyone may contribute to "Helping Hands" and all sales will be donated to Samaritan's Purse to be used for the families in the areas that have been hard hit with natural disasters.

If you want to join us, please post HERE. Previews should be posted here also.

Your contributions should be ready no later than June 30th. There is no required amount of papers/elements, etc.

For non-Ivy-Scraps designers, if you'd like to add to the kit, pm Meegan or Jan a link to your kit from a sharing site, and we will make sure it gets added to the kit.

June 2011 Color Challenge at Ivy Scraps

I have been wanting to use the color Honeysuckle since the moment I saw it as Pantone's 2011 Color of the Year. June seems to be a great time for a color palette based on this color of pink. I really like how many directions this palette could've taken me. Of course it's very tropical, but it could also be elegant, vintage, shabby, whimsical or very girly. I hope you all are as inspired as I was by these gorgeous colors.
