New Beginngs_Kit and glitter

So we are all off and running with the a new year.
I am hoping it will hold better things then last year, but to be honest so far its a bit disappointing.
To many nasty and heartbreaking things happening around the world already.
I really hope it does a turn around and comes good.

I am once again late adding up my part to this, honestly I will be late for my own funeral lol.
I loved the color Palette, Linda chose for us to work with and also the theme.
And I started out so well with this, but christmas happened and then other things and I have been less of a recluse , and its summer.
The warmer weather when its not so hot you could melt, is really hard to ignore and want to be outside doing something in it.
So I dont have much to offer this time around.
But in a couple of weeks when things settle down for me, I am going to go back and really get into these colors and the theme and create alot of the ideas and inspiration I had for this.

Once again Joyce and Linda have parts to make up this one big kit as well.

So I am late getting this posted again.
You might remember a little while back, I joined in at Pixel Scrapper for a designer challenge where we were teamed up with others to do a "Pass the kit'.
Well I enjoyed working together so much with Joyce and Linda that the 3 of us decided we would like to work together again. And so we formed JLD Creations. We decided that around the 5th of each month we would share a kit we have been working on. For December I got to chose the colors and theme.
And I really loved these colors.

It bought to mind, days gone by, the big old santa with the big chubby happy face and lots of happy memories.

So we each created several things to make one full kit

The Nutcracker-Kit and glitter

I am pretty sure the older you get the faster the year goes by. I can remember as a kid it seems to take a long long long time to get to Christmas or birthdays lol. I planned ahead once again, so only have 1 person left to buy a gift for, and of course they are the hardest person to buy for. And 3 dogs and 1 cat and apparently 2 horses now as well sigh. Furbabies in our family are just that family, we are an animal loving (crazy) bunch. It will also be one year that my little rescue girl and I found each other, we are both healing from trauma so we are a perfect match, and honestly I would be lost without her now. She has helped me find my way back to a much better place. And I have shown her that she is one special little girl and very much loved, even when she is naughty.

I did a little research into The Nutcracker, its a very strange story

Besides the young girl and of course The Nutcracker, the main things seemed to be

the grandfather clock, the mouse king and his army. .

And the very strange love the young girl had for this inanimate object, which of course as the story progresses

turns into a young prince.

And I guess the moral of the story is, being able to love something or someone totally regardless of there

outward appearance.

Of course there is the famous ballet based from this story as well.

So I hope you like what I created.

The Grateful Table Kit and Glitter

I t's the 15th, that means its Digi Hop time :)

And for me, I really don't like when I see something advertised and then cannot find it on the blogs :)

We don't do thanks giving in Australia, but I thought it would be fun and a chance for me to practice some more designing.
Its just a small kit, but I hope you enjoy and create some lovely pages with it.

I also made another set of glitters and this time besides the png sheets and asl file you will also find

a metadata xml and a xml file as well.

Which means those of you who use PSE can also use the glitters.

However it is the first time I have done those files for PSE, so providing I did them right,

they will work in your program. Please let me know if they dont, and I will have to go back to the drawing board and figure it out.

Pass the kit_November Days

Gosh this month has completely gone so fast. And we are once again coming up to silly season.
So today's post is about some fun the owner of Pixel Scrappers challenged us with.
Its called pass the kit and we are put into groups based on our designer ability,I got to work with 3 lovely ladies and we all had alot of fun.
We were then given this color swatch and given several weeks to work on putting a kit together.
It calls for team work and our group pulled together and worked well, in fact we enjoyed it so much, we are discussing doing this again together.
And then after this comes the November blog train, and there are some awesome goodies in that one.

Before I go any further, I wanted to say a big thank you to the ladies who have left me comments, I really appreciate them :)

Anyhow I came up with November Days for my part of the kit. When I looked at the color swatch I just got an image in my head of looking out over a mountain in the evening when the colors change and its like a painting.
I had tons of fun with this, so I really hope you enjoy it. If at any time you would like to share something you have made using something I have shared, I would really love to see it. And I would be thrilled to post it up here and on my facebook page.

And I made glitter styles for the very first time.

I have included the png files, as I am not sure to how to

make them for PSE. Sorry, I will try find that one out.

So here is the rest of my parts to the Pixel Scrapper October Blog Train.
The kit contains 24 Elements and 6 Papers and 6 solids/cardstock
I have also included the color swatch for those who use photoshop.
There are 3 clusters and one border cluster in the cluster pack.
I really enjoyed working with these colors and even though I completely side tracked with the theme and ended up doing more Halloween than Journal style, I really liked the end results.

Autumn Art-October Blog Train

Once again I am late, I am late for the correct blog train date.
But I do have some awesome goodies for you all.
The blog trains theme was Autumn Art and it was thrown out there do try Journal type theme.
I kinda got distracted lol. Sorry.
And I really need to practise things more, but that style is something I hope to be able to do in the not to distant future.
The second obstacle I hit was my external hard drive deciding with no warning it was just going to up and die.
I cried I really did. I have years worth of photos, layouts and everything I have ever made as well as all of my purchases on it.
However it will be going to someone who is brilliant at getting things from dead hard drives, so I am hoping I will get most if not all of it back.
And some of the stores reactivated my download links so that I could re-download those as well.
Some just chose to not respond at all, so guess I wont be spending any more of my money in those spots.
I was also all set to take part Digital Scrapbooking Studio's designer challenge.
But well I get another year now to practice and I shall try in the next one.
I did however grab a kit called Temper Tantrum by 2 Curly headed monsters and made a layout to fit the occassion. :)

What do you think?
I thought it fitted how I was feeling at that point.

Now to the blog train stuff. I started playing around and got distracted from finishing the kit on time.
But I am going to be finishing it as I am really wrapped with how it all came together.
So today I have two Quick pages for you to grab if your interested.
I am almost finished with a set of clusters as well, so I will post those once they are finished.
And of course the kit . You know what they say, good things come in late packages lol.

Its been a little quite around these parts lately. I have been busy doing other things and started several kits but just never managed to finish them.
But I do this for the enjoyment and emotional release creating allows me.
But I am loving the colors and the theme for the next blog train so I will most certainly be hopping aboard it :)

Just curious, have any of you popped into Pixel Scrapper and checked out all the fun things constantly happening there?
One of my favorite things about the site is that I can use any kit I like to enter the challenges,so I am getting pages done, and with the kit I want.
And now they are also running a challenge that uses the kits from the blog train each month, so its super easy to join in and make some other digi scrapping friends.
You also gets DC points for joining in at the site which in turn will allow you to choose from the many kits that are there.
Or you can join for as little as $10 per month to download PU kits.
So its really a win win all the way and you get to have fun as well and of course meet some wonderful people. I just thought I would put that out there in case some of you downloading didn't know.
Maybe I will get to see some of you around there, I would love to say hi and leave some love on something you created.

Now for the freebie today, I joined in the on the designer challenge posted, and this one was to create your own papers from scratch, no templates. Sounds simple, but it was challenging because I am so critical of what I create and always want to make it better by adding something to smooth the edges so to speak.
But I sat on my hands every time I got critical and tempted to just try and improve it lol.
And I still have a long way to go, but the results of my efforts are pretty good I think.

So I used only pictures I have taken of different objects and textures, did a lot of playing around in the Filter section of Photo shop, blended them many together to get different results and tweaked the opacity and levels here and there.
Bottom line is I am kinda chuffed that these are my own creation.

Hello_Writer May Blog Train freebie

Wow another month has past, and its time for another Blog Train.

This kit is the one that nearly was'nt. I was so not inspired by this months color choices,

when I first saw them, I just felt there was no way I could bring something together.

First week, I tried this and that and they ended up in the recycle bin, thought perhaps

I would have to pass on this months train. Then I had family come and stay and all ideas

got shelved completely.

Well 3 days before this was due to be posted, my muse happened along, saw me with my

head in the sand and butt up. She did what all good muses should, gave me a good quick

swift kick, which sent so many ideas into my head, I wasn't sure where I should start.

So I started with 3 colors being the main colors. I had grand plans of having an

alpha, some wordarts and several more elements in this.

However, my design skills and the little amount of time I had left, put paid to that lol.

There is enough here for you to put together several lovely pages, so I hope

you will be happy with it. Once again I had some things that didnt make it into

the kit, and rather then bin them, I packaged them up as a add-on.

And if your wondering, paper tears? Yeap lol, thats a new toy, and you have to play

with new toys. But there are no full size torn papers, I just shredded one into

smaller useful bits.

I participated in another Design challenge at Pixel Scrappers, so I have some more to share with you.

Before I get into the post on this new kit, I would like to say "Thank you" for the messages received and thank you's. I really appreciated receiving and reading them, and you made me happy knowing that you were happy with what I had created.

So the new challenge set us the task of creating a mini with only 6 papers and 15 elements, with our own choice of color ad theme.

I created it from my Forever Bundle..

Now I am becoming hooked on Art Journal, although there seems to be different ideas on what is actual Art Journal..

So this is my take on it..

And last Digi manip is something I have always enjoyed doing, in fact its what lead me into the digital scrapping world, oddly enough.. I was looking for things to use..
But my eyes are getting old, and extracting isnt something I really love doing, so I was doing the happy dance when I stumbled onto Deep Tech
The photo I wanted to use was really not an easy one to work with, so I was over the moon when I got it back and I could use it instantly to start creating..
This was the original stock photo I purchased.. And here is my piece of art work with it and several kits..
Again I have linked the image so that you may get the list of kits used..

All about me naturally

Hi ladies and gents?
Another week is almost here, which means another kit created and shared for the designer comp..
This week we had to pick our favorite color and then create 5 more shades of it. And our elements had to show something about us...
My color pallet runs to the earthy tones these days so I had to chose between brown, blue, or green..
I went with green... Now if I was successful, you should be able to tell the things closest to my heart with this kit..
I wonder how many will guess lol... Oh and the kit was to be called "All about me" ..

So this one was a labor of love, and I really hope you enjoy it, and can use it..
I am thinking about adding some more with some browns and blues, would you be interested?

I also have been really blessed this week, I never win anything and I got 3 raks in as many days this week..

I got some really awesome templates from Rainydayz Designs, Christine Smith Designs raked me with a $15 GC and I guessed correctly and won Sugar Fancy's Newest Kit to be released on Friday...

But I "am" feeling rather spoilt, but very happy, thank you again ladies...

Now I messed around even some more and came up with this layout..

This photo is precious, Grandad had a nervous breakdown beginning of last year,

and although he was on medication, he just got worse and worse..

Whole days where he just would not talk or acknowledge anyone was there..

Jazz has loved him with a passion since she was born, so when she came to visit, she at first would try

get him to play or talk, in the beginning it was kinda painful to watch her crushed little heart.

But she spent time here, and she is an intelligent little lady, so she would make sure if she had a biscuit

or drink, that I gave her one for grandad as well..

We would play or do whatever and she would just look over and watch him..

If he went outside she would follow him but not bother him..
This particular day, he had decided to go sit in the sun and read..

She stopped playing with me, grabbed a chair and carry dragged it up beside his chair,

came back and got her book and texta;s and went and sat beside him..

Never said a word, just sat with him...

Now she figures he has had long enough to be sick, so she starts calling him, and if he hasnt

answered her by the third time, she goes right up to him and yells "Granddad"

Lol she is so funny, patience of a saint and heart of one to for someone so little...

So I hope you can find a use for this...

Designer Challenge Week 2

The Ivy Scraps Designer Challenge, is slowly coming to the end of Week 2..

It was a challenging week for alot of us, this week, no cu products were allowed..

We could only design from what was available to us in our programs, so everything is made from scratch..

I enjoyed and despaired this week lol, please enjoy the flower, it took me 3 hours to make that..

I discovered loads of things inside my program that I was unaware of before this week, had so much fun

playing with things...

If you get a chance to compete in something like this, I highly recommend you do, its such a learning curb..

I messed around with my kit from last week and made myself a few extras, so here is a preview of what I came up with..
