Este es mi primer post, pero como tal siempre he sido muy fan de la franquicia y he decidido que tal vez era mi turno de aportar a la comunidad. Los juegos de DS han sido una parte importante de mi franquicia y no hay cosa que me gustaría más que hacerla accesible para quienes no hablan inglés.
¡Pero no solo eso!
De por sí es bien sabido que las traducciones disponibles no solo viejas si no que bastante poco accesibles (yo mismo tuve que nadar un poco para encontrarlas y de por si el hosting de los archivos se perdió), sino que también se sabe que son archivos relativamente “amateur”, con todo el respeto posible al equipo original pues igual la tarea que hicieron es muy agradecida.Debido a esto queremos apuntar no solo a una traducción más completa, sino sobre todo, una que sea fiel al escrito original japonés (dígase, los Digimon Story originales).Esto principalmente involucraría:
  • Hacer que todos los Digimon tengan sus nombres originales en japonés. 
  • Traducir de manera fiel los diálogos originales, respetando términos propios (ejemplo, usar el término Digivice en vez de Dispositivo Digital entre otros), a su vez que se le haga sonar más natural a nuestro idioma.
  • Traducir todos los menús
  • Aumentar la velocidad de texto, y si es posible, incluir un skip de escenas
  • Cualquier otra modificación que veamos pertinente durante el proceso que mejore la experiencia (aumentar el limite de textos, cambiar la tipografía, etc)
Ya hemos participado en proyectos similares, pero esta sería nuestra primera vez haciendo un hack desde cero para un juego de DS, por lo que nos sería de mucha ayuda si nos pueden recomendar que tipo de programas pudiéramos utilizar para este proyecto. Quiero dejar en claro desde ahora que somos un equipo pequeño por lo que nos podríamos demorar lo que corresponda, pero por suerte tendré bastante tiempo libre al menos un par de años para dirigir el proyecto, y como mínimo tener el script listo en caso que alguien se nos quiera unir.Tambien queria saber si prefieren que haga una versión “clean” y una versión “adaptada” para aquellos que prefieren mantener los términos en japonés (tipo, la clean mantendría el Momantai de Terriermon mientras que la adaptada diría “No te preocupes”, los -san, -chan, -kun se adaptan a lo más cercano en español, etc) o simplemente hacemos una versión.Lo que sería el roadmap, obviamente primero haríamos World DS antes de ir con Dawn y Dusk, sin embargo, si tenemos el suficiente apoyo, estamos incluso planeando hacer parches Q.o.L, pero esto dependerá del apoyo del proyecto y que tanto aprendamos respeto al romhacking sobre la marcha. Algo decepcionante, lo entiendo, pero solo trato de ser realista. A esto sumarle que por el contrario, si tenemos un apoyo gigantesco, puede que incluso expandamos nuestro proyecto a Lost Evolution y SuperXrosWars, por lo que la línea se vería así:
  • Digimon Story y Digimon Story Sunburst & Moonlight, parches al español
  • Digimon Story y Digimon Story Sunburst & Moonlight, parches Q.o.L
  • Digimon Story Lost Evolution, parche español y Q.o.L
  • Digimon Story SXW Red & Blue, parche español y Q.o.L
