It’s a very useful tool that offers you all the documentation needed in one place whether it’s for Windows Phone development, Windows Store App Development, even Kinect for Windows SDK, and many others. Here you are a step-by-step tutorial on how make use of this amazing feature.

1. Open Visual Studio 2012

2. Go to Help -> Set Help Preference -> Launch in Help Viewer

3. In the 1^st time, Microsoft Help Viewer 2.0 should run automatically; if it didn’t, just press F1 or Ctrl+F1 to run it. Help Viewer will be launched,

4. Click on Manage Content to load tab that will allow management of MSDN documentation/resources (may take a few seconds for the list to be filled) for your preferred topic(s) to be referenced offline.

5. After configuring all that are required press Update to have them installed on your machine locally (Offline). (If you are promoted to authorize the program to make certain changes in operating system press Yes)

A bar will list download progress.

6. Once it finishes, chosen items will be listed in the Help Viewer left pane for browsing or searching purposes even when you are offline :)

Facebook Launches Privacy Checkup Tool, Gives Users More Control On Sharing

The privacy checkup helps users review things such as who they're posting to, which apps they are using and key privacy-related information through a few steps.

Following a fierce user backlash, Facebook has tweaked default privacy settings in order to give its users more control over sharing. Facebook is offering a new and expanded “Privacy Checkup” tool for people already on Facebook, while new users on Facebook start with friends audience for posts.

The social network has also switched off the controversial default setting that led many users to accidentally share their posts with the public rather with friends or a customised audience list.

“… going forward, when new people join Facebook, the default audience of their first post will be set to Friends. Previously, for most people, it was set to Public,” says Facebook in a post.

“First time posters will also see a reminder to choose an audience for their first post, and if they don’t make a choice, it will be set to Friends. People can change who they are posting to at any time, and can also change the privacy of their past posts too.”

For existing users on Facebook, the social network will be rolling out the “privacy checkup” tool, which will help people review things such as who they're posting to, which apps they are using and key privacy-related information through a few steps.

“We want to do all we can to put power and control in people’s hands. This new tool is designed to help people make sure they are sharing with just the audience they want. Everything about how privacy works on Facebook remains the same,” adds Facebook.

Facebook also points out some of the tools and features the social network has launched to help people control exactly what they want to share and with whom. The social network recently launched Anonymous login, a new way to log into apps without sharing any personal data from Facebook.

Disable Charms Bar Hint In Windows 8/8.1

Are you annoyed by the charms bar whenever you want to close or minimize a window in Windows 8 and above? If yes, then here's a hack for you that will disable it on such action.

The latest operating system by Microsoft has a built in navigation bar called charms which provides quick access to settings, devices, search and sharing functions. But this bar can be a pain sometimes when using a non-touch device. I accidentally keep moving my mouse pointer towards the corners sometimes and then I have to shake it off to get rid of the bar. So if you feel that you have no use of this feature and is annoying as well, you can do this registry hack that allows you to modify the charms bar and disable it. After this, your bar will not come up when you take your mouse pointer to the corner of the screen but instead appears only when you take it to the corner and move the cursor up or down the edge of the screen. This isn’t completely disabling the bar since it is a useful addition but just modifying the situations in which it would appear.

<Here’s what you need to do>

1) Press “Windows Key +R” to open the run dialogue box and type in regedit and hit enter.

2) Navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\”

3) Right click here and select New-> Key from the menu and give the key name as EdgeUI.

4) Towards the right side pane of the screen, where it shows a default key, right click and create a DWORD (32 bit) DisableCharmsHint with its value set to 1.

5) Save the settings.

Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer (or a log off and log in will work as well) in order for the changes to take effect.

Note: If you ever wish to enable it back, delete the Key you created or set its value to 0 and do a restart.

Sitemap page is not much necessary for blogs but from some sides it's better to have a sitemap page in menu. Sitemap page basically helps you to make the navigation easier and it also improves page rank of our blog due to make internal linking of our blog. Yeah! That's awesome thing to improve internal linking because in that page, you'll see all the published posts on your blog. Other than this, it also helps search engine's crawler to index the content and webpage easier. So, in this post I am going to share this sitemap page for blogger.

Before we get started in doing tweaks with our blog for implementing that sitemap page, I would like to describe you that how it works actually or in other words, I'm going to explain it's feature in this passage. Creating and Building Impressive Linkedin Profile

Follow these nifty tricks and cheats for mastering LinkedIn.

The fact that you’re a LinkedIn user means that you’re out there to market yourself and your skills. As such you need to make your profile easier to find when searched for using a search engine. A useful tip is to include a certain keyword throughout your profile. Make sure that this keyword appears in your endorsements and recommendations as well. Once done, you can check and rate your profile against others with similar keyword by doing a search by people. This tip is hardly a LinkedIn-specific hack but is extremely useful and powerful.

The LinkedIn search bar has awesome support for Boolean search, which means that you can execute complex searches by combining Boolean operators (terms such as AND, OR, NOT). For example, if you want to search for a software engineer or architect you can search for ‘software AND Engineer OR Architect’ by combining the AND and OR Boolean operators. For exact matches, use quotation marks on either side of specific terms and use the NOT operator to exclude certain terms. E.g. “subject matter expert” NOT “technical writer”. This sort of search query allowance lets you look for extremely specific profiles or a largely generalised database of profiles by a smart combination of Boolean operators.

Don’t like the way your profile headers are arranged? Reorder them. Simply go to the Profile > Edit Profile and move your mouse pointer to the double-sided arrow at the extreme right of each header. Click and drag to rearrange the positions of the headers.

Linked in has a really nice built-in Resume Builder tool which can turn your profile into a resume that you can print, store and share as a .pdf file. To export your LinkedIn profile as a resume, go to http://resume.linkedinlabs.com/ and click on the “Create a new resume now” button. Grant access to the Resume Builder application. You’ll then be redirected to a page where your resume will be exported to a document type sheet. You can choose between various resume formats. After zeroing in on the desired format and content, click on the PDF/print option located at the end of the menu just above the sample document to save and download the resume as a .pdf file.

You’re probably already aware of a similar feature within your LinkedIn profile where you also have the option of a quick .pdf download of your profile. However, that’s a plain Jane version compared to the template options you’ll get with Resume Builder.

LinkedIn enables you to have multiple levels of connections. As such it gets really important to organise contacts. You can export LinkedIn contacts to another contact or people management system. To do this, go to Network > Contacts > My Connections. Then scroll down and click on the bottom right option of Export connections. There’s an option to export contacts either as a .csv or .vcf file.

Deleting connections is not a really smooth procedure in LinkedIn. The remove connection page simply displays a list of contacts without pictures. For users with a large number of contacts it may become cumbersome to identify contacts without additional information. But thanks to a neat Greasemonkey script deleting connections becomes simple. Although this tip doesn’t really utilise a LinkedIn-based service it relies on an official application called InMaps developed by LinkedIn employees for an experimental service (like Resume Builder) called LinkedIn Labs. InMaps is a beautiful tool that essentially creates a graph network linking together all your contacts with you and each other. It’s a stunning visualisation tool and you can easily zoom in on the map and see specific contacts and their connections. Clicking on a specific dot on the map will show the respective contact’s connection in the map and his/her details are displayed in the pane to the right. This is a handy tool when it comes to viewing connections of specific contacts and building databases. You can easily share the map with other contacts also. This might sound like an utterly useless thing to do but it is actually quite handy if you’re tailing a particular profile for a job or otherwise. A little known feature in LinkedIn allows you to save upto three searches and get email notifications if there are new profiles similar to the ones in your search query list.

Call it keeping an eye on the competiton or whatever but it quite useful if you happen to be in HR. Simply type your search query in the search toolbar at the top and click on the Save option. Let’s suppose you’re looking for a mechanical engineering student who joined graduate school at MIT, you can simply type “Mechanical” AND “graduate” AND “MIT” in the search bar and save that search query. LinkedIn will send you alerts weekly or monthly regarding additions to the list.

The official profile URL provided by LinkedIn hardly catches one’s eye. The URL has a set of confusing and unrelated numbers at the end and it would be really great if a user could obtain a cleaner and crisper URL instead. Fortunately you can. If you’re signed in at LinkedIn go to http://DigitalAbhigyan.blogspot.in/16iAqqu. In the tab titled ‘Your Public Profile URL‘ click on ‘Customise your public profile URL’. Enter a suitable URL in the box that appears and you’re set.

The same page is quite handy for changing the way your profile appears when searched for. You can choose the kind of information to display when googled! The page also provides a nifty option of creating a profile badge to display and promote your LinkedIn profile on other public forums associated with you. Choose from a variety of profile badge options by clicking on the “Create a profile badge” under the Profile Badges section.

This option gives you an idea of the group dynamics in general which includes number of group members, activity and growth. You can view comprehensive infographics that cover demographic information, activity (discussions, jobs posted, comments and promotions) over a period of time and growth in number of members. For example, if you’re at entry-level and the demographics show that a majority of the group members are at a senior level, this may not be the group for you yet. Creating And Submit A Sitemap On Blogger

A sitemap is simply a directory of all the pages existing on your site, like a table of contents showing the structure of your blog. Sitemaps help search engines crawl your site and index it properly. Search engines will crawl your site if you have a sitemap or not, but this makes the process easier and quicker for them.Bloggers default XML sitemap only shows recent blog posts – which is about 26 posts. We want search engine spiders to know your blogs structure so that they can easily understand and index it.

Creating a site map on Blogger is easy, simply add your blog name to the link below.

Blogger – Default URL

A single sitemap file should not be exceed 50MB which is why we limit it to max results 500. You may need to edit this depending on how big your feed is. Now we’ve to tell search engines that this is your site map. To do this, we add it to your robots.txt file and submit it to Google Webmaster Tools.

Go to Blogger > Dashboard > Settings > Search Preferences and click edit the custom robots.txt file. Click enable and paste the following adding your blogname.

Google will now start to crawl and index your site. You can check what pages have been indexed on Googles Webmaster Tools or by going to Google Search and typing “site:www.BLOG-URL.blogspot.com”, “site:BLOG-URL.blogspot.com”, “site:www.BLOG-URL.com” or “site:BLOG-URL.com”. To submit your sitemap to Bing, login to Bings Webmaster Tools, add your URL, verify ownership and then submit your site map. It may take a few days for your site to be indexed.

If you have more than 500 posts on your blog, you simply submit another sitemap starting at post number 501 for the next 500 posts like so /atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=501&max-results=500 and continue this depending on the amount of posts you have. So if I had over 1000 posts, my robots.text file would look like this and I would submit the three separate sitemaps to Googles Webmaster Tool.

How To Backup Your Data On Android

How to backup and restore various data such as SMSes, contacts and apps on your Android device using SnapPea and other tools.

Doing a backup or restore of data on your smartphone is something we all need to know how to do, because we change phones ever so often, upgrade the OS, root, etc. While Apple, BlackBerry and Windows Phone have pretty decent systems for managing phones, Android, despite being the most popular, still lags a little behind in terms of desktop phone management applications. Manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony do provide their own apps, but if you’re a regular modder who can’t sit with the same ROM for too long, you might be in a bit of a pickle. Without further ado, here are some tips to get your Android phone all backed up and secure.

SnapPea

You can download SnapPea from http://www.snappea.com. It is a free tool and one of the best I’ve seen at backing up your device. It also does more than just backup, as you shall see.

Download and install the program and also download the app on your phone, from the Google Play Store. Tablet users will need to download the app from http://m.snappea.com/ though as the app on the Play Store doesn’t currently support tablets. Fire up the desktop and phone apps and you’re ready to connect. The software allows you to connect either via Wi-Fi or USB cable. To use Wi-Fi, you will be given a unique key that will allow you to pair your device with the PC. To connect via USB, make sure your phone is in “USB debugging mode” or the software will not be able to interact with your device.

If all goes well, you should see your phone’s name and model number listed on the top left corner of the screen. Be warned that if you’re using a custom ROM, the name might defer depending on the phone the ROM is based on. Don’t worry about it though, as long as you see a name and number you should be fine.

Moving on to the apps panel, you can create a complete backup of all the apps on your system. By all, we really mean all, even your default system apps can be backed up in a jiffy. The neat thing that SnapPea manages to do here is that it also backs up all your app data along with the APK file, so all your hard work spent on Temple Run or Angry Birds or even keyboard training will never again be wasted. Isn’t that great ?

SnapPea lets you backup photos and contacts and messages as well. This is something your Google account does by default on any Android device, but it is nice to have a secondary backup just in case. Backing up messages with SnapPea is a bit of a hit and miss though. We faced issues where the dates were mixed up and ancient messages were being forced to the fore. For SMSes, try SMS Backup and Restore from the Play Store (I’ll talk about it later on in this section)

Backing up and managing music is also quite convenient with this software, especially if you manage your music via iTunes. SnapPea lets you directly import your iTunes library and transfer it to your phone quite easily.

The “downloads” section of this application is one that merits a second, more detailed look. You’ll see a whole pile of links there. You can download apps from 1mobile and the Google Play store, even YouTube videos and iTunes trailers. All downloads will automatically be transferred to your phone in the appropriate format. There are links present to sites such as Android Central and Phandroid for those interested.

One very interesting feature of SnapPea is its ability to capture screenshots from your device. The process couldn’t be simpler. Connect your device, hit the capture button on your welcome screen and that’s it! You‘ve got a screenshot saved in the folder of your choice. The capture tool also lets you view your phone’s screen in real-time, perfect for presentations and such. The response when streaming is a little slow, but is sufficient if all you want to do is project your screen somewhere.

For those who like to switch ROMS a lot and routinely put their phones into recovery mode, SnapPea can get quite frustrating if you’re using the default configuration. You will need to change the settings that automatically launch SnapPea when a phone is detected as it will interfere with your recovery or flashing process. To do this, go to settings and uncheck both the checkboxes under the “Launch” sub-head. You can also enable or disable auto-backup from this screen.

Backing Up SMSes

One of the simplest and best tools for backing up messages is the SMS Backup and Restore utility available for free on the Google Play Store. Just download and install it on your phone, accept all the disclaimers and get it up and running.

To backup the messages, hit “Backup”, choose your destination folder, name your backup and hit ok. The phone might take a few minutes to complete the task depending on the number of messages you have and voila! You have an editable xml backup of all the messages on your phone. We would recommend saving the backup on an external SD card or something as it would be safer.

Restoring SMSes is as simple as backing them up. Suppose you formatted your phone or flashed it, just download the app again, make sure that your backed up XML file is present on the device and hit restore. Navigate to the backup location and select your file and hit OK .The interesting part here is that the app will let you decide the date from which you want to restore your messages, so all those archived messages from your childhood days need not be restored to your phone, but you can rest assured that there is a backup available should you ever want to access them again.

Backing Up Contacts And Apps

This is a very basic function that Android enables by default, but there are quite a few people who accidentally disable it or don’t know about it.

To ensure that the backup and restore service is running, you need to go through the following checklist in the settings section of your Android phone.

1. In Accounts and Sync, ensure that you have setup at least one Google account. If you haven’t (very unlikely), do so now. After setting it up, or if there is already an account listed, tap on that account and ensure that the checkboxes for syncing your contacts, drive, photos, email, etc. are selected as per your requirement. Note that if you have multiple accounts, items such as contacts might overlap in your contacts app. Also, setting up Google+ will actually sync photos with your Google+ account directly on certain phones.

2. In the Backup and Reset option, make sure that “Back up my data” and “Automatically restore” are checked. Also verify that a backup account has been set.

Network selection mode

This is generally because 2G has a better reception and hence your device doesn’t have to shout out to the operators every time asking for a connection establishment request. Screen brightness

Although auto screen brightness is a safe bet, for overly bright screens, manually setting the brightness would be a better way if you can do it manually every time. The auto feature is a good addition, but when you do it manually, you can assess at what level of brightness you are still able to read. Also, just in case you are too lazy to do it manually, you can use an application called Lux Lite to do the hassle for you, though it will keep running in the background consuming some battery on its own.

Close background applications

Killing background applications doesn’t really improve on your performance (KitKat onwards) but there might be some applications which could be requesting internet data in the background by pinging the servers for requests, ensuring a connection establishment or updating in the background. You should consider killing these applications instead, in order to reduce the energy demands of the device which can be done later on as well. Also, you can restrict background data from the mobile data section to avoid background applications from fetching data and in turn give your battery some boost.

Disable GPS

People are generally smart enough to keep their GPS off when it isn’t needed, but what they generally don’t do is disable the location reporting and history when they are actually using GPS. These two services are pre-bundled with android and are enabled by default as soon as you turn on your GPS. The motive of these two is not stated clearly anywhere, but they do keep a track of your location and help Google Now and related services use internet to send data to servers. These two, according to Google’s help page, are there to improve your experience, but overall they consume a lot of battery power to survey your location. And chances are you are good without these turned on. If you wish to turn these off, you need to go to Settings > Location > Google Location Reporting and disable these.

Moreover, when you are not in need of applications that require your precise location, you can set the mode to battery saving to conserve some battery.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

You should keep your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers off when you don’t need them to preserve your battery. Also, in case of Wi-Fi, even if it is disabled, the device constantly scans nearby surroundings for available networks. You should turn it off as well. Head to Wi-Fi settings > Advanced and uncheck the Wi-Fi scanning option. You will have to connect to Wi-Fi manually after doing so but it’s worth the effort to prevent it from hogging on your device for power.

Wallpapers and Themes

Live wallpapers are a flashy and fun thing to have on your device’s home screen, but again they take too much battery and you should consider not using them if you really want your battery to last longer.

Also, using the default launcher for your device uses lesser footprint (Google Now Launcher) as compared to other launchers and you should switch to it just in case you are low on battery.

Darker themes consume lesser battery as compared to brighter ones.

Disable Google Now cards

Google Now is a great assistant to have and once you start using it, you will find that it is unmatched in quality. Although you may not use all of the Google Now services, they still keep running in the background. So you might wish to avoid the battery drain by disabling the informational cards. For example, “Nearby Places” card, which is a seemingly cool feature, gives you the hangout places nearby that you don’t usually travel to. I think it is unnecessary and one could live without it turned on.

To disable specific cards, go to Now, scroll to the very bottom and touch the magic wand icon located at the lower center of the screen. From here you can customize the cards you need and disable the ones you don’t. As a thumb rule, cards relying on GPS (such as Travel Time, Nearby Places etc.) will drain more battery. So you can disable those to boost your battery a bit.

Sync

Sync is a feature in which your device constantly contacts Google’s servers for downloading emails, calendar records and other information in the background. This uses loads of battery power and you should shut it down when it is not needed. Don’t worry; everything will be synced later when you turn it on again.

Even if you don’t live on the edge, years of bloat start showing sometime down the line.What you need, on occasion, is a reset button that takes your PC back to a state when it was on its best behaviour.Clean installs are almost a must for those who like keeping their systems smooth and infection-free – much like one would do a regular tune-up of their vehicles – to keep the bugs and glitches away. We obviously don’t recommend a monthly full system clean-up, but once a year or every few years, “just to be safe” isn’t a bad thing to plan for. All you need to do is back up all that data and do a clean install of Windows. Here are some things to keep in mind before you do either.

Back up your data

Unless you’re one of those obsessive compulsive techies who arranges his stuff meticulously down to the last .txt file, your data is probably all over the place, in folders labelled ‘to sort out’ and ‘more stuff to sort’ or maybe in Leet codes and hidden directories among your system files. And unless you have an eidetic memory, it’s more than likely that you’ll miss one of these ‘important folders’. Use System Restore Points

Windows System Restore points are meant to be used in case of extreme situations. However, don’t avoid the feature either; use it well.

To create a system restore point, go to Control Panel > System > click ‘System Protection’ on the left-hand side pane > System

Restore.

You may need Administrator permission for which you may need a password. Enter this and then click on ‘Create’. On the System Protection dialog box that pops up, type out a description to make it easier for you to find the restore point, and then click ‘Create’. To restore this point in the future, run the ‘System Restore’ option on the same tab and select your saved point.

The System Restore option usually comes in handy at times when you accidentally install software that starts playing havoc with your PC, or refuses to uninstall because of corrupt files. The option leaves your files and folders intact, so now worries. All the drivers installed at the time the restore point was set will also stay where they’re supposed to be.

Clonezilla

Too lazy to pick out your folders and save the necessary ones? Clonezilla to the rescue! It’s a software for people who are ready to prepare themselves for a probable crash. Sure, you can do a clean boot and reinstall Windows, taking away any and every system problem you may have with your PC. But at the end of the day, you’d obviously prefer a clean system with all the essential and basic software intact. To do so, follow the instructions given below.

Download the compatible Clonezilla .iso file from http://DigitalAbhigyan.blogspot.in/cloneZilla and Tuxboot from http://DigitalAbhigyan.blogspot.in/tuxboot. When downloaded, use Tuxboot to create a bootable Clonezilla USB with the Clonezilla ISO. When done, restart your system, and enter System BIOS. In BIOS, switch your boot order to boot from the USB before the default hard drive. Remember to save changes and exit. When you reboot, Clonezilla will start. Follow the instructions and create an image of your primary partition. For the sake of safety, store this image in an external source which is in no way connected to a network – neither yours or anyone else’s. After the image is created, remember to take an image of the 100MB Windows recovery partition on your hard drive and save it on the same aforementioned source.

This stock image of your PC is what we like to call your ‘Clean Clone’ (CC). In case your PC gets infected or corrupt, or just gets plain slow due to excessive and/or careless use, the CC can be used to bring back your PC to the exact state it was in when you created the CC.

When you have an oops moment somewhere down the line (a crack which wasn’t a crack at all?) and your PC needs to be cleared, all you need is GParted, a free partition editor for graphically managing your disk partitions and your CC. Run GParted on your PC to format an infected partition to remove all traces of viruses and then restore the image you’ve saved in your CC through Clonezilla to return to your clean system.

In case you forget to back up the Windows recovery partition, you may have a bootmgr issue, which can be resolved with a Windows boot disc. Here's a step by step guide to create a Windows 7 bootable USB drive.
Things needed : A pen drive (atleast 4 gigs), Windows 7 disc
- Attach the pendrive
- Run the command prompt (as Administrator)
- Type "diskpart"
This starts the diskpart utility and you will get the DISKPART> prompt
- Type "list disk"
This displays the list of all disks connected to your system
- Type "select disk <enter_disk_no_here>"
Replace <enter_disk_no_here> by the disk no. of your pendrive as shown in the list. Make
sure it is the right disk by verifying its size and read its appropriate number as you 
might risk nuking your drives. Note that all data on the drive is lost so backup any

- Type "create partition primary"
Creates a new primary partition on the pen drive
-Type "active"
Marks the newly created partition as active
- Type "format fs=ntfs quick"
Performs a quick format of the partition into the NTFS file system
- Type "assign"
Assigns a new drive-letter to the drive. Note this drive-letter. Lets say it is J:
- Type "exit"
Quit the diskpart utility and you are back to the command prompt. Make sure you run the
command prompt as an Administrator if you have not already.
- Pop in your Windows 7 disc. Lets say its drive-letter is D:
- Type "d:"
- Type "cd boot"
- Type "bootsect /nt60 j:"
Installs a new bootsector in the pendrive. Note that the drive-letter j: is as assigned 
in the previous steps.
- Copy the entire contents of the Windows 7 disc to the root of the pen drive. i.e. from
 D:\ to J:\
Thats it, you can now use your pen drive to boot your system and install windows.

However similar Clonezilla may seem to using a system restore point, there are certain pros and cons of both these techniques. The restore point may change your install and registry files to an earlier, more stable state, but it doesn’t affect the files on your PC. The problem with this is that if you’re infected with malware or any other virus, there’s a high chance it will still be there after the restore. Clonezilla solves this issue, but also wipes off any data you may have downloaded onto the PC after you created the CC, so be wary of that.

Clean install (the hard but right way)

As an ultimate step, you could begin right from the start. This basically involves removing everything from your PC and reinstalling your OS and software from scratch. Yes, it’s quite the task, but sometimes issues like a boot sector virus and particularly intelligent malware can force one to take such inevitable steps.

Things to do before wiping your PC clean

Here’s a short generic checklist of things to keep in mind before you completely erase your PC.

Don’t keep your precious memories at risk of being wiped out. Though not enough for every photo a professional photographer takes, 1TB is enough to keep the important ones backed up in case of emergencies. And if you’re a smartphone pic taker, go Flickr!

Browse privately

Opt out of being tracked

Before talking about this feature let’s find out what “tracking” is. Basically, major websites and advertisers track your web browsing behavior – including the sites you visit, products you purchase, reviews you check out, search terms you use, etc – to get an idea of how to better target their services and products at you. When you enable the Do-Not-Track feature your browser won’t allow the websites you visit to track your behavior.

To enable this feature on your Firefox browser, go to Firefox > Tools> Options > Privacy. Check “Tell websites I do not want to be tracked” and click “OK”. This feature is also available for Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

Sync Firefox

You can use Firefox Sync to synchronize your bookmarks, passwords, settings, history, add-ons and tabs with Firefox on other computers. We’ll be looking at different types of Firefox Sync settings in a while. Once you create a Sync account you’ll have all the rights to create, remove, and rename your devices. Finally, you can also delete your Sync account if you don’t need one. So let’s get started!

Set up Firefox Sync on all your computers –:

In order to sync Firefox with your primary computer, you’ll first need to sign up for an account. Go to Firefox > Tools > Options > Sync > Set Up Firefox Sync > Create a New Account. Fill the required details and filter all the preferences according to your needs. By default, your add-ons, bookmarks, passwords, preferences, history and tabs are synced. To change what information gets synced click on “Sync Options”. Once that’s done, select your computer name and hit “OK”. Now you have your browser synced with your primary computer. Depending on the amount of information that has to be synced, the first sync could happen quickly or take more than 30 minutes.

To sync other computers, do this for each of them: Go to Firefox > Set up Sync > I Have an Account. A twelve-character code will be generated. Go back to the Sync tab under Options on your primary computer and click “Pair a Device”. Enter the code from the other device in the next window, click “Next”. Once you see a “Device Connected” message, click “Finish” to close the setup window.

Access Firefox from any computer :

Once you have your browser synced with your primary computer, you can access it from any other computer. Open Firefox. Go to https://account.services.mozilla.com and enter your username and password. Click “Log in”. Your Firefox synced account management portal will load on your screen.

Rename your device :

Go to Firefox > Tools> Options > Sync. At the bottom of the window, you’ll find an option to change the computer name on which your synced account is running. Rename your device and

hit “OK”.

Change the password from your synced computer :

If you want to change the password of your Sync account from your synced computer, go to Firefox > Tools > Options > Sync > Manage Account > Change Password. Enter your new password, then click “Change Password” to apply the change and “OK” to close the window. Note that your other devices will stop syncing if you don’t update them with the new password.

Change the password from any computer :

If you’re not on a synced computer but want to change your Sync account’s password, go to https://account.services.mozilla.com. Then go to Sign In > Change your password and click “Change your password” and press “OK”. Note that your devices will stop syncing if you don’t update them with the new password.

Deactivate your synced account :

Go to Firefox > Tools> Options > Sync > Deactivate This Device > Reset All Information. The data on your devices will no longer be synced with your account, and you’ll be logged out of your synced account.

Delete your synced account :

Go to https://account.services.mozilla.com Then head over to Sign In > Delete your account. Enter your password and then press “Delete your account” to confirm.
