Building on the success of the award-winning FinePix F10 Zoom, the FinePix F30 Zoom pulls away from the pack with a sensitivity setting that is eight times as effective in low light as a conventional compact with ISO 400. The product of many years of accumulated expertise in sensor technology, this is the closest that any digital compact camera has come to approximating the remarkable sensitivity of the human eye. In practical terms, it is a breakthrough in delivering crisp images, even at night-time, or with fast-moving subjects.

Hamburg, 26 January 2006 – With the new Olympus E-330, the specialist in opto-digital technology once again expands the horizons of photography. For the first time*, the comfort and flexibility of continuous live views directly on the LCD is available to digital SLR users. This ground-breaking innovation enables framing of shots without the need to look through the ocular. Users can therefore see what’s going on around them while they shoot, which is a significant advantage for reportage or sports photographers – as well as in other situations where it is difficult to frame using the viewfinder, such as under water. Moreover, thanks to a large tilting, multi-angle LCD measuring 2.5”/6.4cm, the Olympus E-330’s versatility is extended even further. It makes capturing shots from unusual angles, such as in crowds or during macro photo sessions, a breeze. To ensure image quality is second to none, Olympus has fitted this model with the latest-generation MOS sensor for high speed and sensitivity, delivering incredibly true-to-life, 7.5 megapixel results. As with all models in the Olympus E-System line-up, users will enjoy the benefits of dust-free photography thanks to the Olympus-exclusive Supersonic Wave Filter. And for the ultimate in versatility, the Olympus E-330 is compatible with the full range of Olympus E-System accessories. It is shipped with a ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-45mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens (equivalent to 28-90mm on a 35mm camera).

Hamburg, 26 January 2006 – The parties, the concerts, the excitement of the night. And the pictures? When it comes to night time and low light shooting, the results sometimes just don’t seem to really measure up. Not so with the 7.1 million pixel µ 700. Incorporating BrightCapture Technology, the necessity to use a flash is significantly reduced. This assures that the unique atmosphere of night time motifs is faithfully captured to let the memories live on forever. The innovative technology simplifies framing on the large 6.4cm LCD too by providing a live view that’s four times brighter than on conventional models. Meanwhile, a host of advanced shooting features boosts image quality – no matter if shooting day or night. Naturally, as part of the Olympus µ family, the µ 700 makes a lasting impression wherever it is taken. Its slim and compact weatherproof* metal body radiates style, and with the wide choice of available colours – Moonlight Silver, Sunset Orange, Midnight Black and Twilight Blue – the stylish camera design will catch the eye all the more easily.

The DMC-FZ7 packs a 6-megapixel CCD that comes with a superb 12x optical zoom. It incorporates a High Sensitivity mode as well, providing the ability to shoot up to ISO 1600. If you’re suffering from shaky hands, fret not – the built-in Panasonic Mega Optical Image Stabilizer will smoothen out those occasional shakes. Shiny Shiny via Geek Blue

What are words if not accompanied by pictures? Of course, we can’t tell whether the pictures available online are doctored or not, but it is always prudent to wait for an official statement from Canon themselves regarding the existence of the Canon EOS 35D.

Carl Zeiss has introduced new Series of ZF interchangeable lenses for Nidkon D-SLR. The ZF lenses will grant the Nikon SLR camera system with legendary image quality that is associated with Carl Zeiss. The strongest point of the lenses is that they are “fast”. It’s a term used to indicate that they capture more light. This allows the photographer to use a faster shutter speed to get crisper action photos or snap photos in darker conditions without getting blurry photos. Some people say that a faster lens can be a great substitute for an Image Stabilizer. Both Planar T* 1,4/50 ZF and Planar T* 1,4/85 ZF lenses will be available this spring, with several more to be introduced during the course of 2006.

We’ve mentioned it previously, but at CES, Kodak was presenting its new Retina Dual Lens Technology that opens more possibilities to the users: the 23 mm ultra wide lens lets one shoot panoramic pictures and the telephoto lens is great for close ups. To the user, the dual lens system should be almost transparent: depending of the level of zoom required the camera will switch to the most appropriate lens automatically. The other great feature is the integrated camera stitching software that creates a single 180 degrees panoramic JPG file from 3 shots. After each panoramic shot, part of the previous photo stays on-screen to be used as a reference to align the next shot. For panoramic shots this 5 Megapixel camera is much more practical than what is currently available on the market. It will ship to retail stores next week. Price: $399.

1/10/2006 --- Hasselblad is creating a new standard of digital image quality for professional photographers with the announcement of a new camera and three camera backs based on the combination of Hasselblad’s new, true 39 megapixel CCD sensor and its unique Digital APO Correction (DAC) technology. This new line of products features the new Hasselblad Natural Color Solution, which takes digital photographic color reproduction to an entirely new level. The new products also deliver images of unsurpassed sharpness and resolution and at the same time reduce any moiré effect to a minimum – a first in the history of digital photography.
The Korean company’s 6-megapixel GX1S DLSR is the company’s first attempt in the DSLR market, albeit with some help from Pentax. The generous 2.5” 210k pixel TFT color LCD screen powered by Pentaprism technology is a boon to any serious photograph enthusiast. It is relatively light at 0.5kg. Expect the Samsung GX-1S to begin shipping next month, although pricing details have not yet been released.
Between a car and a camera, which would gain the attention of your dollars? Hasselblad presents the world’s first 39 megapixel digital SLR camera, presumably powered by Kodak’s CCD. This medium format H2D-39 comes with a 2.2” OLED display, color-correction technology, and supports tethered hard drives, considering each picture is around 78MB in size on average. The H2D costs around $31,000, and for that kind of cash you can easily purchase a BMW to travel in style and luxury.Via Mobile Mag
