Me, Myself, and I

Sometimes you are lucky enough to have a friend like Whinter who shares everything and shows you some of the best shops - like N-Core and these heels which are probably one of my all time favourite pair of shoes. And probably the best thing about SL is that your little avi can wear any heel and never once have to slip into something more comfortable or practical!!!

But today I was by my lonesome wandering SL and enjoying the day. I headed over to Sway's village and enjoyed all the little amusings provided ... not the least of which were the beavers which made me smile (High fiving all the Canadians!!!). I had a great time until I got into an argument with myself and decided to leave the other two and just have some "me" time.

Leezu's is such a beautiful shop an such a talented designer. Usually I get lost in all the glamour and wow factor of the amazing pieces she does but sometimes it is nice to just pick up the smaller pieces and really appreciate the attention is in the details. This beautiful white shirt with its pebbled textured material is cut with a deep V and almost met with the open cut up from the waist.. The stand up collar and criss crossing narrow red belt caught in a large buckle adds signifcant interest to the piece.

I paired it with a red leather pants etched and printed with silver threading taken from a larger ensemble from RFyre - and of course what is better than high high black heels???
Hair by Truth, Linda in dark brown, is a great casual look and of course my Cupcake Skins. Rumor has it there will be new skins available this weekend some time and I cannot wait to see them!!!

Oh ... and if you happen to see Myself and I wandering around Sway .... tell them for me they can find their own way home .... and pick up a bottle of wine on the way ...

Mashooka has some wonderful new items, just out today!

What a treat it is for me to log in and find wonderful goodies waiting for me to try on.

After trying on all of the wonderful options, I settled on this Maya set in Lime Green. Surely showcasing the others is on my agenda, but I wanted to be sure to send you over to see the newest items.

This bikini has the most elegant of cuts, with a hint of Indian Sare inspiration. What else would you expect from Mashooka? Three pieces come in this set, the bikini itself as well as a lovely sculpted open coverup that I KNOW I will be using in an outfit some where down the line. A simply cut sarong style wrap is included but not shown in my photo.

Mandalay Bay provided the divinely relaxing atmosphere for my quickie shoot, if you haven't been to peek around over there, its the nicest little place with wildlife peeking around in unexpected places.

Rainy Noir

The weather in Second Life is nearly always perfect with the exception of seasonal spots, so when I happened upon a severe rainstorm at Trilogy, I was in awe of something rarely seen. In RL I love storms, the wilder the better! Later, I thought again of this place and thought it would be wonderful to take some rainy night photos.

While selecting my outfit, I wanted something stylish and appropriate to wear. I started with the new ARGrace fedora hat with hair I purchased at the Hair Fair. It's color change options allowed me to select just the right shade of White with a black band to match my Armidi Gisaci Lima Trench Coat in Blanca with Nero belt. To give a "film noir" look to my ensemble, I chose red accessories to complement the starkness of the black and white. The Unhappy Flower necklace tinted to red, Nif Nif Gloves, smart ankle boots and of course a red lip.

To complete my look is the wonderful umbrella from Trilogy in black and white checked houndstooth. This umbrella comes with it's own ao's for single and couple as well as several cute animations such as twirling the umbrella and floating away with it ala Mary Poppins!

Adorro's Monica outfit helped win me this blogger position. Teasing of course! I fell in love with it and thought it would be a fun change so I wore it to my interview with Scarlett, which has happily brought me here! You can't go wrong with Retro, in my humble opinion. One thing Secondlife allows for me is a chance to revisit things, as well as create a new look every day.

My friends in a chattery fashion group I belong to, alerted me to this wonderful designer. When you enter the shop, you'll quickly see that Mew Dennimore designs eclectic and unusual pieces. A slice of heaven for me! The outfit comes with all pieces except the magenta shirt I'm wearing underneath, it also comes with different glasses, that I felt were too dark, so I substituted with The Niven Collections own Nicole glasses (rumored to be available very soon as a surprise...shhhhh).

This week the perfect companion for this outfit appeared in my inbox for review. Purple Wedge Redux shoes from !SSUS! (She's So Unusual Shoes, by Rowan Carroll). These high platform wedges feature the cute cork look that was so popular. Cute simple straps across the toe with a couple of metal studs to accent. Here's a close up view!

Egyptian delights are definitely a trend this year, and in SL a lot of attention has been brought to them since the “Call of the Nile” fashion show in Rezzable. I could say the same for laces and vintage taste, so much that here in Rome there has also been an exhibit in the past few months at “Museo Napoleonico” of the old nineteenth century laces by Arnaldo Caprai.

The new collection of Patrizia Blessed, designer of Ardigraf, follows these trends with the accuracy of an expert taylor, bringing them originality and uniqueness with her new releases, which I am going to show.

Maruska is a lovely cocktail dress with a really special design and a great attention to details. The perfect matching of gold and green make this outfit perfect for summer evenings: the bodice presents an amazing work done on the cleavage, with golden silk lines reaching the neck and matching with those on the top, while the handcrafted skirt made of frills not just pasted on a textures, but patiently drawn one by one make the dress alive, with its natural flowing, and just realistic. Moreover, the belt and the scarf are a real touch of elegance: the former is made sophisticated by the gold inserts, while the latter, pure silk of an iridescent green, with knots on the shoulder and two little back tails, make you nearly look like a goddess while walking.

The hair I chose to match to these outfits is all from Pocket Mirrors: here I am wearing the Ofelia hair in reddish, as I was looking for something really simple, that could not take the eyes from the outfit, but that at same time was outstanding and could confirm the elegance of the whole look (this is something I love about Alair’s creations in general).

The jewellery is instead from Donna Flora by Squinternet Larnia: the earrings from the Vain Set are perfect thanks to the green and blue pearls embedded on golden leaves, while the FLORA topaz ring is elegant but not too sober thanks to the white and blue little pearls.

Ambar is another beautiful day gown that confirms the designer’s passion for well-worked cleavages. In this case the straps draw two delicious triangles before ending on the top, a jubilation of light and dark gold pearls that make a sort of Egyptian pattern. The dress can be worn with or without the chest attachment, and can easily turn from a party dress into a knee-length gown used for special occasions. The Eden set of necklace and earrings from Donna Flora confirm Squinternet’s ability when it comes to stones and pearls matching inserted in a golden scheme, that shine when light hits them. Here I was particularly fascinated by its geometry and symmetry.

Did I already say I love vogue buns? Dita hair in black from Pocket Mirrors is definitely one of my favourite ones. The side bangs make a hairbase not necessary, and the bun is so simple but fashionable that adapts easily to various styles, from the very minimal one to the most eccentric.

To finish with, we have the Old Lace Outfit, a mermaid-alike gown that follows the style of the European 20s/30s gowns: here, again, there is a great work behind it, with the handcrafted laces that make a not random but symmetrical draw, and the skirt attachment that makes the gown flirtatious and actual. I also love the colours, a beige-pink bottom that breaks the seriousness of the black laces, and the little flowers above the knees, where the flexi skirt attaches, that give a girly touch.

This time I chose a vintage style in a light colour as for hair, and picked Bea in blonde, always from Pocket Mirror, a short hairstyle with little curls on the sides. The Lulù set always from Donna Flora is the one I chose this time for its as well dark and light colours, and for the lovely rose pulled alongside vintage pearls.

The understated elegance of black and gold coupled with accents of sky blue and the unexpected pattern of zebra print stockings; makes for a modern couture look with a dash of old world charm.

I selected the Dakota silk shirt from Casa Del Shai with it's flowing sleeves and slightly irredesent sheen and paired it with the Black Dahlia skirt, modded to knee length, from The Niven Collection. The skirt has great movement and mimics the fluidity of the sleeves.

Accessories include the pale, milky chandelier earrings, black lace necktie with it's pale blue beaded broach, black patterned corset belt, sheer zebra print stockings and black shoe booties. Make up and hair are kept simple and classic with an upswept, sleek top bun, softly defined eyes and muted lips.

Resort and couture looks are something that I have always loved to mix in Real Life. In this post I want to show one example of a look I love. As you have seen in my past posts, my outfits can range from very girly to more sophisticated. This look belongs to the latter category. Having recently spent a weekend in the Amalfi coast isles in RL, I was inspired to put together a look starting with the Miami Beach swimsuit by V-Fashion. This shop has retro girly bikinis and one-piece-swimsuits with a deep cleavage. The accessories are amongst some of my favorites, and are perfect for the look I was searching. Classy, but at the same time the pattern and the belt make it unusal and wearable. In this case, I've used it as a top to mix and match with a bottom piece.

The skirt is also from V-Fashion from the luxury dress Tiffany outfit. It's a really lovely cocktail dress, very Audrey-alike, and comes with a hat, clutch and shoes. For my look I modified it a bit, making it almost a mini-skirt. The prim part and the red flower brooch, add fun to the outfit as well as confirming its' sophisticated style. The sculpty hoop skirt is from the Black Circle Dress by The Niven Collection - Couture Summer Line.

Vogue buns are also something I really love. I was delighted when I found this shop, called AU V, by Jare Capalini. This style is called "Good morning Rome." You can also find many haute couture outfits that now are, of course, all jealously kept in my inventory.

As for shoes and necklace, I wanted to use something with a pebbly texture, as it always looks good with summer outfits. I found this lovely LaGyo long necklace and these amazing sandals from **DDStyle** of Dadina Dosei. Dadina has recently released her new summer collection and sells, together with her outfits or separate, some amazing jewelry or shoes. She is specializes in sandals and boots, and in the first case they come also with a useful HUD that allows to change skin tone, sounds, and nail color. (here I painted my toes in red to match the flower brooch).

Feeling Sort Of Drowsy

As I was preparing for my post I nostalgically tried on several items from some of my favorite shops that are no longer around. I've been in Second Life 3 1/2 years now, having this fashion blog for 3, and much has changed since the first time I logged in full of wide eye wonder and possibilities. My first goal, of course, was to shop as it was an article on virtual shopping that bought me here in the first place. I remember being pissed and thinking I was somehow cheated of my item when I rezzed that first box on my head.LOL!
As the fashion blogs become more and more of who can get it the fastest, snap photos the quickest and get it published immediately, I would like to revisit some of the old favorites of mine along with a few new ones.
The Natalie dress from Last Call has always been one of my favorites. I imagined it in a heavy Lycra, which would hang perfect with no wrinkling no matter how much you sat on it. I've used the top from that dress, which has intricate tiny silver sequin detailing around the neck, lightening the mood with Nylon's hand drawn fabric necklace colored to silver and a back draping triple strand pearl necklace that adds a contrasting look from back to front. I've paired it with the paper bag waist white skirt from DeLa that has a contrasting black tie sash. A simple textured silver cuff from The Niven Collection's Wonton jewelry set compliments without being overwhelming. Finally, the Yuja ll shoes from Enkythings in silver/black, along with the lovely side swept, full hair "Is" hair from Magika in blonde A finished the look with polished, yet uncomplicated flair.

Bare Bliss

I persevered and actually beat Scarlett to Stiletto Moody the other day but not before I did my time in the water, on the roof, under armpits, feet in mouth (someone else's ... not mine...)flying against the barrier of "this area is full try again later" until I wore Linden out and they let me in .. heheheh .... But because I am still in the honeymoon phase of this relationship and trying to win Scarlett's respect .... I refrained from doing the "na na na boo boo" dance around her. I just nodded my head and was very sympathetic to her frustration at not being able to get in.

I scored these Bare Katherine shoes (if you can call scoring forking out soooo much money ... but please allow me my illusions ...) and was so in love with the color of them ... I actually camera'd around the store when I got there, and rezzed (yes after about 5 hours, lunch, a long bath and 3 phonecalls RL) and checked out the shoes being worn that really caught my eye. These won hands down.

So now I had the shoes ... what to wear, what to wear .... (you can put your finger to your lips and tap here to get the full experience)

Then all of a sudden ... it fell from the sky ... into my screen ... a DSN gift!!! Dream Resistance sent out this great dress called Fantasia Shine Dress. I really like the both the coloring and the style. The taupe is off set with just the merest hint of pink - one of my favourite colour combinations. The fringe at the bottom adds a cheeky finish to this barely-there summer slip dress that perfectly matches the shoes!!!

Beautiful, changeable deliate pearl drop earrings from Exodi match the dress and the little handbag is included in the purchase of the shoes. Love the hair from Miraistyle - something very different for me and of course the impeccable talent of Tuli and her fabulous Hope Skin.

A Blush of Pink

Retro Lingere is often characterized by conical bras and thicker rigid bodice coverings. Here Scarlett Niven's Pink Lingere designed by Insolence gives us the look of the retro while completely embracing all the dainty beauty of today's softer lingere.

The thicker middle panel with its classic lines gives an illusion of slimming while giving way on the sides to a much more sheer and softer material. The trail of peekaboo gathered lace at the bottom of the bodice panel at the front provides modesty while following a straight line to the back giving us a flirting glimpse of butt cheek. Longer garters complete the look. The soft pink color of the whole outfit creates a decidedly soft, feminine appeal.

I've always had a love for the sexy, chic and elegant simplicity that is a cheongsam. I have a fabulous vintage one in RL that I picked up while in San Francisco. It never fails to garner me loads of compliments at it's beautiful heavy silk pattern and fitted form. I've come across a few of theses types of dresses in SL during my years here, so when Babydoll LaFontaine asked me if I would like to take a look at her take on this style, I immediately said yes!

I love the red one with it subtle print pattern and gold piping trim. It comes in a long version and a playful shorter one. I've selected one of my new hairs from the hair fair called Gorg in Platinum Fascino Hair Salon. The upswept, high bun shows of the lovely detailed collar of the dress, the Together earrings from Yummy and the apaptly named Wonton necklace from The Niven Collection. Keeping with the classic simplicity of the dress and Asian theme, I've added Yummy's Words To Live By Cuff and finished my look with the Elegant Ruby Red slingbacks from Stiletto Moody.

Speaking of Stiletto Moody, I am on my way to shop for shoes!

The unstructured softness of this Natural Black Jacket by Air Winx provides just the right amount of dressiness to balance Pixivor Allen's beautiful layered eye-let lace skirt. I removed the rolled top of the skirt so that it tucked nicely under the jacket. The large black leather belt creates some form and substance to the outfit taking it from being casual to a much more sophisticated presentation.

I particularly like the edging of the jacket, done in an offset match of the satin so as to provide only the most subtle of contrast, but adding an understated detail that nicely finishes the jacket. The belt is well done with the texture being very life-like in detail. The skirt also has some nice qualities, having kept the scallop of the eyelet in the layers and adding a subtle slit in the front of the skirt allowing for brief shows of lovely tanned legs.

The earrings and bracelet were chosen for their simple design and elegance, making sure they blended with the outfit instead of competing with it. The one exception is the blue on the flowered choker which I threw in to add a splash of color to the face and to accent the beautiful makeup shadings of the Lara skin. Strappy Sandles in matching black seemed the perfect choice for me.

Hair by Maitreya is simple and keeps this look decidedly for an afternoon out, or an early dinner in the city. Definitely something I would wear this summer.

Greetings to all of you, I was blissfully happy to see the annual Red,White and Blue sale at *ICING*. I'm always on the lookout for a great bargain, and as an already loyal fan of miko's creations, I had my eye on several pieces before the sale was even announced. Peeking at this photo you'll see that I indulged in the spirit of Independence Day with color, but refined ladylike designs.
Frame one features an offering in a very deep navy blue, this dress is called "Goodnight Kiss" and after just one wearing I know its going to be one of my favorites. I've added Nighttime Gems Necklace and earrings from Shiny Things, donned my favorite updo from Damselfly and I feel pretty and ready to dance.

Second, what lady doesn't feel ravishing in red? This ruby silk dress is simply cut, elegant and tasteful. The shading on this texture adds a great deal to the appearance of this item. Called "Vixen" this is the Ruby color but it is also available in others, for this time though, the red and blue are on the half price sale.

Whimsical glamour, is there such a thing? I believe I found a bit of it in this dashing sparkly dress called "Glitterati". I added a flower from The Niven Collection just for fun, and to balance the flash of the sequins. Remember, we want to know how well YOU look in something, not just how the outfit looks alone, adding the flower draws the eyes away from my bustline and up to my eyes, where after all, is where you will find magic.

I'm confident you will find something at Icing that you will enjoy, with every item in these three colors marked down from their already reasonable prices, this blogger gives *Icing* a big thumbs up, as well as a THANK YOU!

There are dresses you wear that you own the moment you put them on ... something about the way it fits, immediately creates a sense of enchantment that everyone feels. This is one of those dresses for me. With so many fabulous styles and colors to pull your focus in The Niven Collection, it is easy to overlook this dress in the array of beautiful designer gowns, but this one is magical.
The constant contradiction between seduction and elegance in this dress is played beautifully by Scarlett Niven's choice of lace. The overlay pulls brief glimpses of skin together with pieced white lining into a seamless exploration of soft shadings of silver instead of the usual, expected expression of silver in a dress of this nature, where you have much more sparkle. The delicate tapered sleeves extend onto the palms of the hand and the lace at the neck is cut to capture the natural scallop edging and frame the beautiful line of the collarbone across to the shoulders.

Dainty Silver pumps, slightly darker filagreed earrings and decidedly feminine, soft hair are the perfect compliments in the overall presentation. Cupcakes Seduction Glimmer provides the appropriate make-up for an overall sophisticated, still understated feel.

Fumiwo Rau is the talented designer behind Fumi - a delightful shop in the captivating Mooncat Izumo Fashion District. Her designs are charming and beautiful in their array of materials, textures, and colours. Appropriate for formal, bridal, evening and cocktail - her dresses borrow from the Victorian, Edwardian, and Rococo Eras and are hyper-girly in their presentation.

Her blackdress is a typical Lolita Goth using the traditional black and white with lots of lace and ribbon, topped with the veiled tiny hat sprouting off shoots of feather-like lace. Her corsetted bodice is exquisite in her detail and the whole outfit is an amazing steal at $300L.

Court X Patent Leather Shoes from AW Designs respect the traditional Mary Jane worn with Lolita Goth while at the same time adding a bit of sophistication. Using the more elegant hair from The Niven Collection, and a decidedly sensual skin, the look moves from the school girl to something more upscale and fashionable.

Both the jewellery and the gloves are part of the outfit from Fumi and there are many options with this dress and different ways of incorporating parts of it into your wardrobe. The biggest problem with a visit to Fumi is deciding which dress not to buy, because believe me, you will want them all.

World Builder was shot in a single day followed by about 2 years of post-production. Very touching and very well done.:-)

It gives me great pleasure to announce I have joined the virtual world talk
and entertainment show, Life-On-Line (LOL), as an Associate Producer.

Life-On-Line is a twice monthly internet TV talk show covering lifestyles, news, fashion and entertainment across virtual worlds featuring music, comedy, interviews
and more! The TV show is the brain-child of Australian journalist and
communications consultant Steve Cropper, who in 2008 was 'Angelico Babii',
host of the LATE SHOW on Metaverse-TV and the creator of My-Metaverse. I
will be doing a segment on fashion across virtual worlds as their resident
"Fashion Guress."

The program is made in the style of popular TV chat shows like the Late
Show and/or Entertainment Tonight in the US and is pacey and energetic and
gives viewers that big TV show 'look'but with a personal and intimate feel.
